CJ Spiller is an Outstanding Football Player
Prickly Pete replied to Rob's House's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think McCoy is better, but McCoy plays in a spread offense. When CJ played in a spread, he was pretty good. -
CJ Spiller is an Outstanding Football Player
Prickly Pete replied to Rob's House's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am very happy to have Spiller on the team. He is a great asset. He is not one of the problems. I think the team needs to fill the holes around players like Spiller and Steve Johnson, not just throw out players that have some really nice attributes. -
He is a great asset. Put him on the small receivers, and Gilmore on the big guys. Robey is exactly the kind of guy this team needs more of. He makes big plays.

Yeah right...you're joking? Bills Lose Heartbreaker 35-34 Devastating loss may dash playoff hopes. by Steve Saslow at Week 7 Titans 35 Bills 34 The Skinny: Ryan Fitzpatrick threw a late interception and then Matt Hasselbeck hit Nate Washington with a 15 yard touchdown pass on a 4th and 9 play to lift the Titans to a 35-34 come from behind win over the Bills. Fitzpatrick did throw three touchdown passes to Fred Jackson, Donald Jones, and Stevie Johnson. Brad Smith returned a kickoff 89 yards for a score in the loss. Chris Johnson had an 83 yard touchdown run and ran for 195 yards in just 18 carries to lead the Titans to the victory. We are not doing grades this week but check out our quick recap of the loss. -
"Waaaaaaah! Matt Flynn...(sniffle) Matt Flynn... was going to lead the Bills....(sniffle, snorf, sniffle)....he was really, REALLY, good....(sniffle), and...and....he was going to LEAD THEM TO THE SUPER BOWL, but they just let him go! WAAAAAAH!". Who cares about Matt Flynn?

Colts Elevate Da'Rick Rogers to the Active Roster
Prickly Pete replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There have been many guys like Da'Rick through the years, the wide receiver position seems to attract a certain personality type. He may turn into a good pro, I really don't know. But the Bills made a decision, and let him go. It may have been a mistake, but it's UNDERSTANDABLE. He isn't a guy that was going to make or break this team, and whining about his being cut, and pointedly following his achievements to justify some whining about the Bills is misguided. They have other, more serious problems... -
I think EJM played about as well as I expected, and don't think any conclusions can be reached from what we saw today. I didn't see any "progress" just a decent performance. I'm still looking for something from him that seems exceptional, some strength in his game to build upon. I do think the next 2 games will give us a clearer picture of his potential. Right now, I hope they draft another QB this coming draft. If a blue chip prospect is there in the 1st (doubt it. also doubt they would use the pick on one, unfortunately) I would like them to do it, regardless of how EJM plays. More likely though, there will be a good 3rd/4th round prospect there, and I really hope they select one.

I think I heard it is the 2nd worst EVER (and they aren't done yet).

He still isn't aggressive enough.

2 for 23 yards in a blow out. -
I don't recall him dancing on the field. (I know some funny guy is gonna pull up the Brady dancing clip). Like I said, I could be wrong. I still don't like it, and I'm not that old.
-
Has any QB that danced after scoring ever won a Super Bowl? I'm serious, I think there is a direct correlation. I can't think of any, and Russell Wilson isn't going to dance if he wins the Super Bowl.

Regardless, there are a myriad of reason why they might have cut Da'Rick, and even if he has a good career (err, another good game), they still might be justified. I'm not going to judge this decision until I have seen what this staff can accomplish. THEN it will be fair to say "they were idiots, incompetent". This topic is exhausted for me at this point. If people want to wallow in the shame of letting him go, and then seeing him score a couple TD's elsewhere, go ahead and wallow. -

Can't coach pros like college kids. Nick Saban comes to mind.... -
Interesting comments from Chris Brown
Prickly Pete replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That quote has been blown WAY out of proportion. He meant that they didn't lose the game then, and that they (he) had plenty of time to overcome it. He was saying that turnover was no excuse to lose the game. -

I'm not going to say they have made all great decision (or even ANY), I just think it's too soon to make overall judgements about the current staff, and Da'Rick hasn't accomplished enough to hold it against them. ALSO. Many here whining about Da'Rick are the same guys that want to see SJ gone. And I just read the comments from Chris Brown where he implies that Marrone gets rid of people that he doesn't feel are committed to the team, and winning. People LOVE that "yeah, get tough with these guys. SJ is overpaid, not committed, hold him accountable" blah blahblah, WELLLL... Apply that to Da'Rick, and you might see the reason why Marrone cut him! So it's "Cut Stevie!!!" out one side of the mouth, and "Where Da'Rick at?" out the other? -

yeah, I think they saw his talent, but had to make a decision based on where they want to go. They gave him an opportunity, and if they hadn't signed him at all, there wouldn't be any of this whining. This is a rookie staff trying to win with a raw, rookie QB, and lots of rookies and 2nd year guys. They probably felt they had their hands full as it is, and preferred a guy like Hogan who had some experience. I think inexperience was the NUMBER 1 reason for the offensive struggles this season, not a lack of Da'Rick. We don't know how he behaved at camp. For all we know he was taking other rooks out to get wasted, or maybe he was fine... WE DON'T KNOW. If he turns into a pretty good pro, that's cool.... they parted ways early, and he went on to develop. I wish him well. Stop holding the current staff responsible for other people's decisions. Whitner has NOTHING to do with any of the guys here now. Are you gonna give Marrone credit for the Super Bowl years? Hackett credit for the K-Gun? -

They could have kept ANY guys you could mention from the last 10 years, and they still would have sucked. It's not the main issue, or even near the major reasons why they have sucked for so long. -

What should they do with a player that is an idiot, teach them how to read? All this over Da'Rick's one game performance with terrible tackling on a TD (where he danced into the end zone, down by 21), and another garbage time 2 yard TD with an opponent 21 points ahead (and probably playing backups)? -

You're fired! Would you like the Bills to try to trade for Da'Rick? What do the fans want? Fire the entire Bills organization? What is it? What is the point of all this rear view mirror gazing? Especially about a guy that had one decent game (and acted like a jackass) against a defense that gave up a number of big plays to non-descript WR's? What do you want to happen? -
