Favorite current Bills: 1. Fred Jackson 2. Aaron Williams 3. Kiko Alonso

I don't think those teams "failed" there. The owners of those teams were "eccentric". I live in LA, it would support a team just fine.

All this realignment talk sounds really desperate, and sad.
-
All this so the Bills stay? I don't think realignment is gonna make any difference in that, and I want the inter-conference games to stay. That is as important to me as them playing 2 games a season against division rivals. It's odd, because there is all this talk about the NFL facing problems in the future, and I think having a team with an established fanbase is in their best interest. I don't think the Bills will leave. (I know full well the arguments, I don't need another listing).

No one cares about the other conference? No one wants the Bills to EVER play the Cowboys, Bears or Giants? No one wants to see them play against some of the greats that are making history in the other conference. It's just a whole separate league that (unless the Bills are in the Super Bowl....cough) the Bills have nothing to do with, forever? I think that would suck.
-
Gotta have inter-conference play. It keeps the whole league interesting, and I want to see my team compete against all the great players out there. 2 separate leagues is awful, and destroys the cohesiveness of the league. I think it is perfect just the way it is. All the teams in your division play all the same teams from the other conference. One can quibble, but no matter what people will complain. I hate the way baseball does it.

It's fine the way it is.

I don't even care, they are all in the way of the Bills to me. I only watch other teams play to compare them to the Bills, and get a feel for the league. I watch some college footage to check out prospects. The Bills are the only sports team that counts for me. I don't even watch any other sports anymore.

Todd McShay Mock Draft 1.0
Prickly Pete replied to Mike in Horseheads's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As I mentioned in a another thread, virtually EVERY team would immediately trade you their best starting guard for a top 10 pick. -
It will never compare to RWS (I didn't even imply that it could), but after a couple of playoff seasons, the team could at least pack the stadium. If the Bills were good, it'd be possible to make an event of it, and it wouldn't be such a hurdle. You aren't a true superstar (to me) until you are winning. Every team has "star" players. I also said they need the combination of superstar AND winning.
-
It's a disadvantage, but I think if the team was a true contender, the place would have a way better atmosphere. If the Bills were perennial contenders (with a superstar on the roster) I think they could be a big draw for that one game in TO. Of course, they have to get good first, and the TO game is a hurdle right now. I know that won't be a popular opinion, but I think it's true.

Yeah! Very happy to see this. Get another linebacker and the defense can be one of the best in the league. I realize they have had some bad games (against the run in particular), but the way the rules are now, they favor the offenses so much that every team is getting some big scores against it. I really like this defense.

[closed]Marrone cracking the whip
Prickly Pete replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think people are going to read way too much into this. And I don't think it's going to "put the fear" into any players. It wasn't a playoff game. It wasn't a crucial game on the schedule. It wasn't early in the season. I know there is a strong contingent of "get in their face" fans here. If Dareus has been doing this all season long, then for this kind of punishment to be effective, it would have had to have been implemented long ago. I just think Marrone is in a foul mood, and got tough on Dareus this week, but it is an isolated incident. I doubt it transforms the team, or improves the play of Dareus. "We talkin' 'bout practice". -
Winning the division games is the first meaningful step for any team climbing up through a division. Once a team is good enough to do that, suddenly they start winning more road games, and winning the non-conference games. Winning 4 of 6 in the division (2 on the road) is serious progress for this crap franchise, and they will have won all the 2nd matchups, showing some progress. Getting a road win in NE is big, and will help the psyche of the team. Stamping on the Pats, and softening them up for the playoffs would be gratifying. Time to let them know, that the Bills are coming at them.

Is professional "coach speak" contagious?
Prickly Pete replied to patfitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The OP wasn't referring to the coach's grammar. He is wondering why people throughout the organization are repeating the same terms, while they are laying out excuses for the team's poor play. -

I think when people are trying to hide something, or are trying to speak around a subject, and not give a direct answer, they reach for these kinds of filler words, or phrases, like a security blanket. Among a tight group of people, using a word like "obviously" can become habitual, because they are using the term with each other, and listening to each other give interviews. I haven't listened to many Marrone interviews, but I will look for it. The people in this organization need a "security blanket" for every interview. I find this kind of behavior analysis interesting, especially when there isn't anything else happening with a team that has been out of the playoffs for 14 seasons. -
Where have they indicated or implied dissatisfaction with the play of the tackles?

OK, say the Bills draft at the 10 spot no later
Prickly Pete replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They aren't going to waste a top 10 pick on a guard. Put it this way, almost any team would trade you their starting guard for that pick. Maybe every team. -
He looks slow, and doesn't move very well. It's like he has poor body control, and is overexerting himself, flailing around with wasted body motion.
