  1. haha. The one kinda reminded me of the TJ "jump" drop. This guy is developing into a legend. Maybe he will be the Bill's "Taro".
  2. I'm pretty sure wherever Roscoe is (CFL, Arena, Semi-Pro, or YMCA), he is on IR.
  3. Why not have "trade schools" connected to universities? The OP made a great point about it setting up an unhealthy environment of deception. Many people involved, many blind eyes turned away. It's a sham.
  4. You don't want to answer? So it's just a rant...
  5. 6. What do the Da'Rick supporters want? You want Marrone to resign? Whaley to apologize to Rogers? You want a public statement assuming complete responsibility for cutting a player that has gone on to catch a few passes from Andrew Luck? You want the GM to state that "Because of the Da'Rick situation, were are re-evaluating all aspects of the way we evaluate talent"? What do you want?
  7. I think Aaron Williams next 2 or 3 seasons are gonna be real good, maybe exceptional. This was his first season at safety, and he will be better next season.
  8. We really don't know what happened. For all I know he ASKED to be cut.
  9. It's a balance, between experience and teaching new guys. Really, it's not that big of a deal, and it doesn't reveal some kind of deficiency in the coaches. They know more about the situation than we do. Whining about this all season is really ridiculous.
  10. I understand that perspective, but it can be flipped. They have a roster full of guys that need to be developed, and there is a limited amount of "time/effort". Training camp was where rookies competed for a share of the coaches "time/effort", and apparently, Da'Rick didn't make the cut.
  11. If the #2 wideout (that's how he was introduced on the telecast) for the Bills, had 1 catch in a playoff game, where the QB threw for 443 yds. Everyone here would be super pissed, and say the guy had disappeared. Honestly, Hogan would have matched that performance had he played for the Colts in Da'Rick's stead.
  12. "A Browning Nagle sex tape seems inevitable at this point."
  13. This seems like a weak draft at the top. Maybe good for QB's, maybe Clowney (head case), but nothing else.
  14. Even if he was the same, it wasn't good. I will never let that hit be used as an excuse, and will contest it every time I see it posted. It's revisionist.
  15. I think analytics works better for better for a sport like baseball, where there are so many games (I hate watching baseball). With football, you can just watch the games and get a way better idea. If you wanted to see a particular situation, it wouldn't be all that hard to just make a compilation video of whatever you are looking for. It takes less than 10 minutes to watch EVERY play a player was involved in a game. That's 2 and a half hours to watch the guy's (or the defense's) whole season. Baseball is one guy at a time, every guy.
  16. When will he be eligible for the HoF?
  17. I've out-bottom lined you. Feels great to be the ultimate Bottom Line Guy. "That's the bottom line..."
  18. Not really. If you are going to be a "bottom line kind of guy", the only stats that count are wins and losses. The idea behind stats to me, is to get an idea about where and how to improve your team's performance. Merely looking at points scored/allowed doesn't really zero in on how to identify problems.
  19. I like some of your ideas there. I think some conclusions can be reached with some stats, too. It's just that watching the games seems to be the only way to really get a good idea what's happening. Like the Justin Rogers games. An offense can pick on a one guy that's in for an injured player, and completely ruin an otherwise decent defense. Some would say "well, that guy is part of the defense", but it doesn't point to the solution. In that case, the solution is "Better Depth at CB", not "Need new DC" or "Need a first round CB".
  20. What the circumstances are in the game. Is the team scoring, down by 20 at the end of blowout. Is the team defending a a 20 point lead in a Prevent defense for the last 5 minutes of a game. There are many more variables...time of possession. is the offense a quick No-Huddle that sucks, and put it's defense quickly back out on the field repeatedly? Some teams play in better divisions, against great QB's. tougher opponents. Dome teams often have more wide open offenses, so there are higher scoring affairs...it goes on and on. Each game is different, and has it's own circumstances. I don't believe in stats.
  21. Leaves out WHEN scores are allowed, or made, and that is crucial. I just watch the games, and make my own decisions. It's really the only way to get a true feel for what is going on. The stats are nice for bickering with fellow fans, but I hope coaches base their opinions on WATCHING.
