  1. D. Thomas may be "a beast", but he can't seem to figure out that he needs to get past the first-down marker. Was Sherman on him all game? I don't know if how often he was, but I would've put Sherman on D. Thomas before Decker.
  2. yep. I posted that very early in the season (maybe even before it started). That was this silliest game plan they could have come up with under the circumstances.
  3. I guess it's time to draft another cornerback...
  4. I think the pressure of the Super Bowl favors defenses. It's easier to play defense when amped up, than to execute a precision offense. It always seems like a few boneheaded plays lose the Super Bowl. But regardless, if defense wins championship, offense wins games. Right now the Bills need to win games before they can win championships.
  5. A lot of this stuff I would call "Americana".
  6. It's someone looking for attention.
  7. Andre Reed is the only Bill I have ever actually met, and conversed with. It was long ago at a nightclub on Niagara Falls Blvd. (The 3 Coins?). He talked to me and my friends for about 30 minutes, just hanging out in a large, crowded nightclub. He was really down to earth, and seemed to enjoy just talking about football with us.
  8. Can't they just "break in" a couple/few helmets each year during training camp? Wear a few different helmets during non-contact drills? That really is a ridiculous rule, and it's all to make the appearance that they have "taken every possible precaution" to protect the players.
  9. Very happy for Andre Reed! He provided some great thrills for NFL fans, and I didn't think he would make it. All his TD's are on Youtube, in order... start here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ScXWp013C-Y
  10. Raiding the Detroit coaching staff? Shooting pretty low... If they change to 4-3, how might it effect the draft?
  11. Of course, but I'm not gonna get worked up about whether or not a Bills player deserves to go or not.
  12. Why does anyone care if he goes or not? I get no satisfaction when guys on a team that hasn't made the playoffs in 15 years get personal accolades. Trophies are for closers.
  13. I don't think it's a given that they can trade down very easily. I don't expect that to happen.
  14. I think the bolded part is the prime reasoning behind this idea. It keeps the flow of the game going, and I think the league is aware of how all these replays are annoying fans, and taking away from the game. I think it would be fine to do what one poster said, and just eliminate the kick, but allow a team a choice between 7 or take six and go for a 2 point conversion. I don't think injuries were a big concern (even if they were to come out and say it played a role, they just like to sound concerned), and there are way more effective ways to cut down on the number of plays in a game.
  15. Yeah, no way they are gonna cut commercial times. Goodell was handed this outrageously successful league, but he thinks he has to "improve" it with his constant meddling. It's his ego...he wants to stay in the public eye, so even when things are going smoothly, he has to fiddle around. He is like the rich kid who has some expensive toy, and wants everyone to know it. It's America's favorite sport, and he wants you all to know, it's under his control. I really hope he doesn't get into politics...
  16. I don't want more screens nearly as much as I want guys catching fades, or going up for the ball in the end zone. They have plenty of guys to run good screens with already, one more isn't going to add much.
  17. I watched Robert Woods highlights, and he made so many great catches with tight coverage, fighting for the ball, and possession type plays. Watkins had almost none of those. Granted, he made lots of big plays, but watching play-to-play game footage, he didn't deal with tight coverage well, and he WILL have tight coverage in the NFL. I think Woods will be a better NFL receiver.
  18. I don't think much of Evans either. I'm a bit torn, because there doesn't seem to be a great fit for them at 9.
  19. They need to add to the repertoire of what the offense can do. It's about being able to counter what the defense is trying to take away. I am not advocating taking Benjamin with the 9th pick (and I don't see that anyone else did in this thread). I agree that the Bills should be able to find a "specialist" type receiver somewhere, but while "75 yard slant or a 55 yard bubble screen for a TD is just as good as an 8 yard fade", most points aren't scored on those kinds of huge gains in the NFL. The Bills struggled in the red zone....yadayada you already know this....Watkins won't help there. I don't think the WR's on the roster are that bad. They haven't had consistent quarterbacking, and are still developing. I would much rather they selected a different position.
  20. http://yum.gifsicle.com/fffaff4.gif
  21. I don't know if he is a 9th pick, but this guy is making the kinds of catches that the Bills are lacking. Compare Benjamin: To Watkins: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9RqmdAwFvo I think Watkins is going to be good, but I think Benjamin would add more of what the Bills need, and would have a bigger impact on the offense's production.
  22. He is just a player. Harbaugh is way more "classless" and he is a coach.
  23. It was no big deal. Who knows what kind of interactions he had with Crabtree throughout the game?
  24. Why not the 4th and 5th too? I'd be all for just drafting O-linemen. Guar-an-teeeeed best all time O-line in NFL history, man. I love it! Woot woot!
