  1. This is way overblown by some fans. Has there ever been a player or coach that has explained in retrospect, some kind of pivotal advantage that was gained from this kind of signing? (I can believe it has happened randomly, but not very often). I suppose the Bears will sign Thad Lewis now? I doubt it. I think they would have signed Palmer even if he hadn't been cut by a team on the schedule. I think they like the idea of having a player/coach-type guy as the 3rd QB. That wasn't an annoyed Cutler, just a guy answering some questions from the press. An annoyed Cutler freaks out. It is a "clickbait" headline.
  2. Bringing in a guy that isn't clearly better than EJM would be a mistake. Not because EJM is "too sensitive" to fend off competition, but because it could divide the team. BAD MOVE. EJM is the guy, and while it might be nice to have a better backup, this team isn't at a point where a backup can "save a season". There is no one that would come in for a few games, throw the 12 or so passes per game that the coaches would call for him (not counting hail mary's and clock stoppers), and have much more impact than Tuel. The hand-wringing over the backup QB on this board is over the top. This team has way bigger concerns.
  3. There have been many advances in treatments (many that aren't legal in the NFL). Sometimes guys come back so quickly from serious injuries it's like a miracle! Remember Terrell Owens miraculous healing prior to the Eagles Super Bowl? I'm hoping that Kiko knows the right people to talk to about a miraculous healing.
  4. I agree, where is this "backup QB/coach" thing coming from. It's fine if you have that "Don Strock" type guy, but a real QB coach is just as good. Fan silliness...
  5. Then why haven't any of them thrown a huge contract at Orton (the Savior)?
  6. You guys are worried about protection, when you have never even met a girl. It's EJM or bust. With this team the backup isn't going to make a difference, and no one on that list is gonna "go all the way".
  7. People consider EJM's backup to be one of the top 3 concerns for this team? Not the linebackers, not the O-line, not the coaching, not Safety, not depth at ANY other position?
  8. 1. EJM's passing 2. EJM's health 3. EJM's leadership . 50. The swirling winds of RW Stadium . 99. The price of parking 100. EJM's backup
  9. Yeah, but if the Bills end up using a backup, this season is over anyway. Way too much is being made of the backup QB slot. If EJM can't make the leap, it's a crap-out season, no backup is gonna make "the difference". Some will say, "oh, we might be on the cusp, and need a good backup for a couple games.." meh, there are very good teams that could use a good backup for that scenario, but this team isn't at that point. Ugh....he sucks. Face it people, it's EJM or bust.
  10. No I don't, but I'm also sure that the guy won't come back to play for a team like the Bills. He might come back with a viable playoff contender, but I doubt even that will happen. "Hey, I was looking to get out of my Cowboy's contract, with the hope that a team that hasn't been to the playoffs for 14 years will sign me". I realize that he hasn't yet retired (that's why I didn't call him "retired"). I will bet my left ball, that he won't sign with the Bills at any point, okay? He isn't even good for %^*^'s sake.
  11. Ponder blows. Orton is retiring (I have no idea why he keeps being mentioned), and he blows. Lewis?...umm, yeaah.
  12. If you had read the thread (or knew your Buffalo Bills history), you would know that this argument was completely dismantled. During The Comeback, the Bills were booed off the field...'nuff said.
  13. I would sooner try the best QB in the CFL, than bring in Ponder, Fitz, Sanchez, Orton, or any other of these waste bin clowns. There is no point to this hand wringing. No QB is available that will play significantly better than EJM. The Bills would go nowhere with any of them. It's EJM, sink or swim...
  14. Hahahahaha!.....Haahhahahahahahhaah good one!
  15. I would never bother to boo a preseason game. Of course, I would never bother to go to a preseason game either. It's funny about the 14 years of crap football. How many of the players were Bills fans during that time? Goodwin was probably a Cowboys fan, and here he has the gall to question the loyalty of a SOLD OUT stadium of fans at a preseason game. He will be fine and get over it, but I gotta question his mental toughness.
  16. I think Hogan and Woods will both contribute more than Rogers. I think teams look for certain standards to be met, and then draft from the pool of guys that meet them.
  17. The story has just begun, so how can these be considered a great example of that? For all we know, these measurements will match up perfectly with their career production.
  18. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/163642-colts-elevate-darick-rogers-to-the-active-roster/page__st__1120__hl__da'rick#entry3032752 The dreaded thread.
  19. If Dixon plays this season, it will mean that the season is dead, so who really gives a bleep?
  20. Maybe he is a gamer, like Brian Brohm? Some guys need real bullets flying...
  21. Big Ben's 3rd preseason game from his 2nd season( 2005).... http://scores.espn.g...ameId=250826028 "There was no such optimism among Pittsburgh's offensive starters, who haven't scored a touchdown in 4½ quarters over three games.Ben Roethlisberger finished 6-for-15 for 57 yards and a desperation heave interception on the last play of the half. His rating was 23.5, worse even than the 36.5 from his first two games. The Steelers were outgained 234-130 before the reserves took over in the second half." They went on to win the Super Bowl.
  22. Then perhaps they would be better off passing on 3rd and short or 4th and inches. Just because fans think they should be able to get it on the ground, doesn't mean the line is suited for it. Of course people will whine if they do pass, but fans whine no matter what.
  23. I couldn't imagine sitting through last year, and then this year again, with Fitz as the QB. In fact, I wouldn't have done it, and the Bills organization knew it had to offer a different QB to the fans (and the players, who would have been even more dispirited). Fitzpatrick"s time in Buffalo was up.
