  1. While I agree in general, sometimes the coach is too close to things to see what's wrong, or too stubborn to change his approach. I don't think posters here think they can step in and do the job better, but that they can see what is not working, and question why the OC isn't making changes.
  2. The Pats O-line is their obvious weakness, so put pressure on them with blitzing. Gronkowski is Brady's favorite target, and the strength of their passing game, make covering him priority #1. That forces them to rely on less proven guys to make the plays. Schwantz didn't gameplan it like that though.
  3. Yeah, but you asked him the question. How else can he answer the question, except with hindsight?
  4. First they should dredge up a guard. There has to be an available human that can play better than what we have. Like, maybe scour the CFL.
  5. I know he has put together some good offenses. I don't know anything about his coaching style, and if it might be right for the NFL or not. Is he at least as accomplished as Marrone at the college level?
  6. I love that story. Harbaugh is a complete ahole, and I think the Bills can win without him. Plenty of teams have.
  7. I think that slowing down the offense added to EJM's struggles. Defenses were able to change personnel and call more complex defensive attacks.
  8. Yeah, I read the first response. So the right answer is ....one. I'm not anti-Cowher, I just don't think that will happen. Yeah, again I already mentioned that I expect Marrone to be kept, my question is assuming the remote possibility that he is let go.
  9. What about Rich Rodriguez? I know he is doing well at Arizona, and signed an extension, but maybe he would jump to the NFL? I don't know much about him, except that he failed at Michigan, but has had success elsewhere, and is a Spread Offense guy.
  10. ...cheerleaders....fans....
  11. Mike Williams hasn't done much, and the play of the WR's hasn't been a big weakness for this team. They have a pile of other problems. In other words, I couldn't care less if mike Williams wants to be traded. I hope Whaley told his agent " yeah go ahead and try to work something out with another team, I'm busy with other things right now".
  12. That would be the smart thing to say, even if it wasn't true.
  13. I think Cowher likes attention from the media, so he keeps the door open. Maybe a ridiculous offer will bring him back, but if that what it would take, how much is his heart really into it ? I at least believe that Marrone works hard. Plus, how many coaches come back after such a long absence and are successful? None. Harbaugh doesn't seem likely, somehow. I'm wondering about assistants and college coaches. I don't expect Gruden, Harbaugh, or Cowher.
  14. Generally, but I'm hoping someone might know a bit about the college ranks or something. Yeah, I know they will likely keep this staff, but assuming they don't .... Who then?
  15. I think Cowher is finished coaching. Personally, I'm very curious who posters here think might be a good, realistic replacement. There are plenty of threads with easy jokes, but how about some informed opinions?
  16. Yeah, all this clamoring for running the ball is silly. I think people dreamed up this image for the team heading into the season "yeah, we're gonna run the ball, and not let EJM ( now Orton) lose the game", but this line isn't any good at run blocking! It's just not a strength, so let go of that vision.
  17. To consistently beat the best teams in the league, especially with an average QB, you gotta have a top tier coaching staff. The Bills have accumulated some talent (finally), but still have at best, an average coaching staff. That needs to be the next step moving forward, or they are gonna hit the ceiling at 9-7, 8-8 and stay there for a few seasons. They still aren't in the running, and I don't believe they can get there with this staff.
  18. You are right on the money. They are pretty much the "Alternative Rock " version of Bon Jovi. Song doctored music ( did Desmond Child ever work with the Goos? He may as well have). It's nice that a band from Buffalo has had some success, but it's a little awkward when they basically admit that the music is schlock.
  19. Nope. The game was there for the taking , regardless of any mistakes by teammates earlier in the game. And it's not bad luck, it happens too often. He tightens up in the clutch.
  20. That's Fitz. In the last 7 or so minutes of a game he just erases any good impression he makes I the first 53. Some here are still pulling out stats, completion %, etc, but they can't seem to grasp that he sucks at the last lap. I sure am glad Hopkins isn't on my team.
  21. Sheehan doing "The Star-Spangled Banner" ala Hendrix, but on the bass, might be cool. I'm not really a fan of his current bands, and find a lot of his playing really goofy, but I know he is a Hendrix disciple, and that would be a perfect showcase for his particular style.
