  1. They may not believe in him, but they should have put the game in his hands NOT Karlos Williams. Tyrod needs to get better at the pre-snap adjustments, and up-tempo situations. I believe he can, and will. But they needed to throw downfield way earlier. The coaches played to the tempo that the Giants wanted.
  2. I think they wanted to run the ball because they figured without Watkins, it would be tight coverage. So they thought "Karlos can do it", but the Giants shut it down. They couldn't run outside at all without McCoys speed. So they ran into the teeth of the waiting defense. They needed to throw downfield, but didn't have the balls, until they were forced into it. Pre-snap adjustments aren't a Tyrod strength (at least at this point). I see some plays that get stonewalled where he should have changed the play. There was one were Karlos lost about 6 yards because there was a DB tight on the line, and there was no way anyone was gonna block him. Out-coached.
  3. They are children with an indulgent father.
  4. I think they missed the combination of Watkins AND McCoy. And I think Roman tried to play too close to the vest because they were out.
  5. Jackson wouldn't have changed a thing. No one can counteract the Rex Factor. When you use hype to motivate a team, it becomes a rollercoaster ride.
  6. How do we convince Roman to leave?
  7. Where did I say that? He wasn't just "good" he had great seasons (like Bennett), he just didn;t have enough of them, mainly due to injury. GFYS.
  8. Politicking helps a lot for the borderline guys. I stated right away that I didn't think he was a HoF'er, that they already have enough 90's Bills, and that it ain't happenin'. I just think some of the disparaging comments were off the mark. He definitely had seasons that were HoF caliber. Just not enough.
  9. He has the same amount as HoF LB Andre Tippett.
  10. Bryce Paup was way more than "good". Paup played at a HoF level himself. He was incredible, but injuries completely derailed his career. 4× Pro Bowl (1994, 1995, 1996, 1997) All-Pro (1995) AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year (1995)
  11. Yeah, he made some bad career moves. And like I said, he doesn't get involved much as an alumni, and that holds you back. Andre Reed was everywhere, promoting himself to get in to the HoF. I would hear him on LA and San Diego radio quite a bit. Not Bennett. I don't get the feeling he is well liked, in general. Not really clever enough for an emoticon. Like, not really a "burn". "We were waiting for something special, but all he could muster was AFC Defensive Player of the Year"... He was recognized as the best defender in the AFC twice...those have to be considered "breakout years".
  12. Huh? He was the AFC Defensive Player of the Year TWICE. If that's not a "breakout year" I don't know what is. Did you actually watch the Bills games that he played in?
  13. He also went to a Super Bowl with the Falcons. I think people are dragging him down a bit. I thought he was incredible, and had a knack for big plays that is rare. To claim he didn't work hard is ridiculous, you don't get named the conference defensive player of the year TWICE without working hard. I think he had nagging injuries that may have effected his play-to-play effectiveness, but would lay it all out in critical situations. That is different than just coasting (to me anyway). 5× Pro Bowl (1988, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993) 3× All-Pro (1988, 1991, 1992) 4× AFC champion (1990, 1991, 1992, 1993) NFC champion (1998) 2× AFC Defensive Player of the Year (1988, 1991) Pretty impressive resume. I still don't think he has a prayer, especially because there are already so many Bills from that era in already. Ain't happenin'.
  14. I loved Bennett, but he is definitely not a Hall of Famer. I agree with this. He left for free agency, and I don't think he spends much time up here in Buffalo "alumni-ing". There is no way he is getting into the Hall of Fame.
  15. Yeah, I think a loss to the Jets, and maybe a weird let down game, like a loss to a struggling team like the Jags, Texans, or Redskins will happen.
  16. I think this game (and most on the schedule) will unfold a lot like the Colts and Dolphins games. The Bills are aggressive early and get a nice lead, then the defense takes over. I think only a few teams on the schedule will be able to give the Bills trouble ( the Bengals, obviously the Patriots, come to mind), where the lead goes back and forth a few times.
  17. Yeah, this is no Trent Edwards type start. This team has been accruing talent for a few years, it just needed a QB to actually make the leap. There is way more talent on this team than any of the past teams that had a decent start. And the wins are solid, not 6-3 victories over Cleveland. Just look at those old rosters. The receivers on those teams were totally subpar, let alone the QB's. Some of the defenses were pretty good, but had glaring holes. This defense is just loaded.
  18. Mister Pizza on Elmwood. They kinda crumple the crust on the bottom, so it's got more variety to the texture (I'm sure they didn't invent it, but I don't know any other places that do this).
  19. Something like that would certainly get a response. They would come after Tyrod.
  20. It didn't though. He got up and strode off the field like a champ. I think getting some hits on the receivers will help. I remember the way the Steelers used to let the Bills receivers catch the ball over the middle, and then nail them. The Ravens use to do that too. There were no big hits from the Bills in the first game. Gotta make them uncomfortable. I don't think the Bills should be afraid of penalties, but they need to make them count.
  21. The talent at WR throughout the NFL is really high right now. If Harvin won't come cheap, I think he is replaceable.
  22. Bills are the better team, and they are at home. Bills 35 Giants 17
  23. I like this idea! It will work at least once. Belichick will probably love it, too. He will adopt it, and perfect it's use.
  24. I still think the best way is to lure him into throws that you are prepared to jump on. If he consistently finds and throws to the mismatch, that means the defense should generally know who he will be throwing to. They also know (if the Pats continue the quick throw approach) that he will throw it quickly. Having guys cheat after the snap to the areas that the mismatched receiver could get to, might help to slow down the Pats, and would at least make Brady hesitate to throw quickly to the mismatch. There was no need to worry about the run in the last game, so having some safeties out there instead of LB's might help too. Does anyone know if Brady has more success against 3-4 fronts, or 4-3?
