  1. I fully supported EJM prior to the bumbling of the the London Fiasco. I can see EJM having a Todd Collins-like, late career splash when he is in his early 30's, and has finally overcome his jitters, and honed his game enough to be a good veteran off the bench. But there is no way he should take up a space on the Bills roster for the next 10 years, while waiting for that to happen.
  2. Actually, I was editing it from "halfway through the season" to "early on", but didn't erase it all.
  3. Because it's not just HIS story, the MANY guys have complained about the defense.
  4. I'm just asking, because you are the most vigorous in defending him, yet the guy was a hated rival to the Bills just last season. No, Preston Brown doesn't have my allegiance, but it's not just him, it's coming from lots of defensive players that have performed well in the past.
  5. It's because he told them they were gonna be the best defense, and were going to the playoffs. They bought in, then realized halfway early on that he was full of crap, and now they feel embarrassed.
  6. Yeah, this unwavering loyalty to Wrex Ryan is curious. I can't figure out what Ryan has done to earn it from Big Cat. Big Cat, did you make ridiculous proclamations honoring Ryan prior to this season, that you are too embarrassed to retract? He did a crappy job this year, it's pretty hard to deny.
  7. I don't know what makes you think the Bills are at some level above the Browns. They haven't made the playoffs in 16 seasons.
  8. While firing Wrex would send a bad message to prospective coaches, the flip side is, how many D-lineman will be anxious to sign here after this mess?
  9. If injuries are the problem, why aren't any of the players pointing to that? They aren't, they are pointing out all the silly scheme related problems. It's the coaching.
  10. It's not just that he "didn't get it right", it's that he got it so wrong.
  11. I keep reading that they only added to the offense, but no one mentions that their top pick was a DROY candidate at CB. I think Wrex's biggest mistake was telling the fans, owner and players that they were already in the playoffs. It affected the mindset (especially the defense, I think) of the players, who fell apart when things didn't go according to plan. After that, there is nothing left but to look for excuses. "You guys are gonna be the best defense in the league, and we're going to the playoffs"...I can't recall any other NFL coaches saying this before a season. Does anyone recall another (successful) coach saying this to their team?
  12. Perhaps, but he is worth mentioning considering how Safeties are drafted. The site I was on had him the 11th ranked player (I'm know that varies), so throw in a reach or 2 for QB, or DL, or OT, and he falls a few notches. I don't think it would be outrageous if he were still there. And I don't even want them to use the pick on a Safety, I'm just presenting Ramsey as a guy Ryan would want.
  13. It's easy! What I do is I wait until the playoffs start, then I pick the team that is the biggest favorite, and ride with them. Some times it's a tough ride, and "my team" doesn't end up winning it all....it really hurts, man. This season, "my team" is the Carolina Panthers...at least for now.
  14. PR is his strong suit, I'd be fine if his only responsibility was giving pressers from here on out, but let the coordinators run the team. Wrex can wear the headset, throw the challenge flag (with some help), glad hand the players, and paint his house blue and red...."The Face of the Franchise".
  15. This has been discussed pretty thoroughly in other threads. Wrex's approach of telling the fans, players, and owner, that they were going to the playoffs, and would have the best defense, set them up for a crash landing if the season were to take a downward turn (which it quickly did). When things start going wrong, it's blowouts, over emotional play, penalties, and whining to the press. He's an idiot. Firing Wrex would not only cost lots of money, it would send a really bad message to prospective coaches throughout the league. A better way is to not allow him to turnover the roster to fit his scheme, but instead force him to either accept a new 4-3 DC, or have him adjust his scheme to suit the players here. It would be great to just make Ryan a figurehead, and groom the new DC to take over after a season or 2. Ironically, Wrex's dad kinda undermined Ditka (a way overrated coach) on his way to dividing that Bears team into 2 separate factions. The worst scenario is Whaley gets canned, Wrex "rebuilds" the defense over a couple seasons, and the team treads water until he is fired.
  16. Possibly, but we don't know where the Bills will draft, and Safeties don't go high as often as some other positions.
  17. I'm not sure I'm excited to use the first pick on a safety, but I wonder how this guy might fit... http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2520411-meet-jalen-ramsey-the-2016-nfl-drafts-top-safety-heading-into-next-season Whaley seems to like Florida St. players, and this guy is tight with Darby.
  18. You gotta, that's the only thing that's fun about this board if the team isn't any good (so basically for the last 16 years....). Analyzing the team, and giving viewpoints, and opinions about their decisions is what this board is about, to me at least. I have been wrong, right, and everything in-between, and don't mind in the least when others take me to task.
  19. Extrapolating statistics is silliness. I like Sammy, but clearly they gave up too much to get him. He isn't a "once in a generation" type guy. I think Beckham is better.
  20. I don't know the Bills situation specifically, but any team of people I have ever competed with against other teams, has only been good if the individuals hold each other accountable. I have been in many bands, and the ones where someone calls out the other guys ( you aren't playing that right...you guys need to help promote...you miss too many practices...) are the only ones that were any good. The others were all mediocre, just passable, just for fun. The standards need to be set high, and leaders have to be able to point out when they aren't being met.
  21. There are all kinds of factors, but just by watching, you can see that he holds the ball for a long time, and often takes too long to make a decision. He will get better.
  22. Steaua Bucharesti of Liga 1 Romania, the past three seasons we have dominated...what a ride!
  23. Yeah, I can't get on board with "The Cowboys" (christ, you may as well say "The Patriots"), or "The Lakers". Really, what are you doing here, on a Bills board? Talk about front running... Growing up in Buffalo, having no connection to say Ohio State, and then claiming them as "my team" seems a bit hollow. I guess rolling with the Blue Jays could work, but....nah, not really. Toronto is a direct rival to Buffalo in other sports, and even as a city! Or the old "Manchester United, those are MY BOYS!"...please. Are those experiences really the same kind of gratification as a Bills Super Bowl? A Sabres Cup? Are we comparing a Lakers championship (a traditional powerhouse... "Oh yeah, I pick them. I declare them my team"), 3000 miles away, to a hometown championship?
  24. Yeah, but not every Sunday for a month.
