  1. OJ was a violent criminal as a teenager.
  2. Mick plays guitar, keyboards, harmonica, and drums.
  3. Haha, I'm a sensitive guy.
  4. If a Moderator thinks it's out of place, he can move it. No big deal.
  5. Everything I hear is that the focus of Wrex's scheme is the Linebackers (a weak link on the Bills), so it would make more sense to use the pick on a LB.
  6. Way more variety, and experimentation in Bowie's work.
  7. We're talking D-lineman, you know, the unit of the defense that was expected to be a strength, but ended up ineffectual in Wrex's scheme. Why give him more, when he couldn't even use what he had? Why draft a guy in the 1st to rush the passer, when Wrex wants guys to occupy blockers, so LB's can make plays? I think any mid-round fat guy will do just fine at NT, taking up space. And maybe bring in another veteran free agent at DE.
  8. Right, so why spend the first pick on a position that Wrex is going to misuse?
  9. I don't know if that is the best test. It's a lot easier to accept your role when your team is winning, and going to the Super Bowl, as opposed to a floundering team, with a big mouth coach pushing a new scheme, and trying to get to the playoffs for the time in 20 years.
  10. Good point. If they get the Special Teams up into the top half of the league, it would add a couple wins to the record, me thinks. As far as drafting another TE, they just drafted a guy many here (maybe even some of the same guys that now want them to draft another TE?) were so excited about coming into the draft, Nick O'Leary. He has sucked. But considering they have Clay, I think O'Leary should be given a little time to develop.
  11. Yeah, there were a couple kids missing legs, around town. Pretty heart-wrenching to think about that. I had a brief train hopping phase. It was easy getting on, not always easy getting off.
  12. Thrill seeking, and risk taking are traits of psychopaths, for sure.
  13. Agree. I love Wade the DC. I'm mostly impressed with how well the Broncos are run. They have a great roster.
  14. I think the Patriots O-line being patchwork had as much to do with it as any coaching scheme.
  15. Neither are worth the risk. Neither are worth the money. Neither will be with the team next season. Speed kills, I guess....
  16. Probably not the first step, but winters pogeying, and summers hopping trains, were surely a proving ground for this particular psychopath. I mentioned it, because I associate it so strongly with him. Each winter, he and his brothers would wait for cars in front of the Boys Club (they liked an audience).
  17. I don't know, it musta been a progressive paper. We called it "pogeying"....it's a made up word, so there is no correct spelling I know of. The main "pogeyer" in my town was....Ricky (Richard) Matt.
  18. Yeah, but you had all those "days off"...
  19. If you were going on vacation, you could ask them to have a temporary fill-in. Some people had friends that they would teach the route, but mine was in the morning, so if I was sick, it would be hard to get anyone at 6:30 in the morning anyway. My brother did do my route a handful of times in the 3 years I had the route. I think by the 90's, there were adults delivering papers..
  20. People were generally nice. I think the job can vary from zip code to zip code, too.
  21. That's self employment... a paperboy is beholden to a company, and all the customers directly, that day. I bet MOST farmers had a few days a year where someone else in the family could take care of a chore that needed to be done every day. But go ahead and one up me...
  22. Spot on. The only difference for me was that I couldn't collect as I delivered in the morning, I had to make the rounds again, in the evening. Chasing people down for $1.15, or something. And it could take a while. "All I have is a dollar, and a quarter...let me find a dime and a nickel..." 10 minutes later "here you go, thanks for waiting". This is not an exaggeration. And like you said, looking back now at people giving a 12 year old a hard time...WTF! I didn't know any better.
  23. I tell people here in California about my days as a paperboy, and I don't think they believe me. Courier Express, so I had to wake up early before school, walk through the craziest weather, and it would be pitch black dark in the winter. On some Sunday mornings, pulling a f****** wagon uphill through the snowy, slushy streets. EVERY DAY. Christmas? Labor Day?....NO DAYS OFF! Again, NO DAYS OFF! At what other job are there no days off? Then there was collecting... From almost the day I turned 12, to 15 years old. I forget what I actually made, but it had to be sweatshop level payment. 2 cents a paper or something....just insane!
  24. So it just needs more time. That is valid, but I prefer more talent, and more time.
