  1. KD in CT hates this guy for some reason. You guys must be great hagglers. This guy can get more than the pittance offered by the NFL, but for some reason you guys like the idea of this him getting !@#$ed over by the these billionaires.
  2. Mario Williams dissatisfaction, poor play, and possible lack of effort, are just one facet of the bad defensive performance, and should in no absolve Wrex Ryan of ultimate responsibility for the overall defensive performance. Motivating players is part of the job, and the coaches before Wrex managed to have him play at a high level.
  3. Maybe he should offer it to CBS? That would be interesting...
  4. This is what I thought right away. His mistake was taking it to the NFL. He could secretly sell it, and the NFL couldn't prove it, if the buyer is willing to keep it private. It would only add to it's history, and value.
  5. There are people that spend $30,000 on gold toilet seats. There will be someone willing to risk the lawsuit (or keep it for themselves, like stolen art), because it is such a rare, historical piece. It's value will only go up, because eventually it will become public domain.
  6. And RG III cards are priced at $36,000 http://www.sportsmemorabilia.com/sports-products/11-robert-griffin-2012-upper-deck-authentic-spectrum-baylor-logo-patch-auto-rc.html
  7. It's worth way more than $30,000. And I have no doubt someone with lots of money will offer him way more than that.
  8. I don't care about sacks, I care about good defense. Sacks are just an indicator that the defense was creating pressure. But here we are trying to use stats to demonstrate the weaknesses of the defense....F*** it. How is this, just good and direct... The defense sucked, and none of the stats matter as much as to me as the crappy, ineffective play I witnessed. We can bicker all offseason, but the defense obviously wasn't very good.
  9. Yeah, that's just against the Patriots though. What about the other 14 games? What about against a guy like Blake Bortles?
  10. "that defensive system had been successful there just two years before. Same defense, same philosophy, same everything. And everybody succeeded." Right, so if it succeeded with basically the same players, but a different coach, it must be the new coach that is the problem, no? "To him, the answer to the Bradys, Newtons, Rodgerses isn't releasing the hounds, isn't blitzing more. No, Scott believes it is more important than ever for defensive backs to tighten up in coverage." When I read this I think "Don't the Bills have a pair of excellent corners, better than the past few seasons?" Yet, it wasn't enough to work with for Wrex. "With all the pressure, guys are getting the ball out in 2.5 seconds," Scott said. "I think now — especially last week with what Wade Phillips did to Tom Brady — you get to quarterbacks who release the ball fast with coverage. Not with more pressure." The Broncos barely won that game, and the Patriots O-line was decimated all season. I think that had way more to do with it than Wade's scheme. The defense played great, but it still came down to a missed extra-point. And I'm pretty sure that this offseason, Belichick is going to dedicate himself to improving the O-line, and altering the offense to counter the schemes that had success against the Patriots. “It is complex," Cowher said. "And I think you’ll see a couple years in, they’ll have a better understanding of it." What a bold statement "in a couple years, they'll understand it better"...a couple years. Uhh, great. I'm really looking forward to 2017.
  11. Won't know until the draft unfolds, and free agency begins. I want them to go offense, either a WR, or an O-lineman. It could be argued that, with this fresh crop of D-lineman, it might be wise to see if there is value at O-line when you pick at 19. I would rather they concentrate on LB's than D-line, on the defensive side. Ultimately, it's about finding the players that will help the team the most, regardless of what the strength of the draft is. In fact, with so many good D-lineman, it might be easier to find suitable players at that position, with lower picks.
  12. Right, but you don't need high picks to get "occupiers", those picks are for pass rushers. They can find occupiers in free agency, and with second day picks. With all these DL being drafted, there will be some high priced veterans let go (ala Mario Williams) that have a few years left in them.
  13. At the top of the draft, it's about finding the guy that can have the biggest impact. D-linemen apparently aren't the focus of Wrex's Scheme.
  14. Maybe, I don't know, or really care, I just don't want to see high picks go towards D-linemen, when they just finished a season of misusing a good D-line. If the guys that were here weren't supposed to chase the QB, and the focus of the scheme is the LB's, why draft D-line, when the LB's are the weakest link?
  15. Wrex Ryan doesn't "get after" quarterbacks though... http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2013/06/sack-luster_jets_trying_to_rev.html "But in Ryan’s four seasons with the Jets, he has only had one team crack the top 15 in sacks — 2010, when they totaled 40" His defense isn't about chasing the QB, so pass rushing D-linemen will be wasted talents. They need LB's that can make plays, while the D-linemen occupy the blockers.
  16. Yeah, Grant was way cooler, and I never knew he played for the Lakers, or coached in the CFL. I hoped he had more to say about Levy, like maybe a story about them discussing the Super Bowl. The pic of him in a polo shirt, surrounded by guys all bundled up for -6 degrees, is great.
  17. I never knew much about him, but I love his irreverence. http://mmqb.si.com/mmqb/2016/01/31/nfl-mmqb-bud-grant-minnesota-vikings-super-bowl-losses-vince-lombardi-disklike
  18. Yeah, I don't think there is a Hall of Famer in the bunch, but they could be good.
  19. I think 3 or 4 of these guys will end up long term starters. This is the right year for the Bills to get a QB in the 1st or 2nd. I will be very pissed if they don't.
  20. I think that is the best argument for keeping him there. It happened, he was one of the all-time greats, and later he killed his wife and another man. Anyone that cares about his accomplishments on the field, also knows about his post-career downfall.
  21. The team has been f****** the fans around for years, and the team sucked. Any move has nothing to do with fan support, and everything to do with local politics, and owner greed. The fans could sell out every game, and it wouldn't make ANY difference.
  22. I think some people give these "Wall of Fame" honors way too much weight. It's one notch beyond "Free Bobble-head Night", as a promotional gimmick, as far as I'm concerned. I couldn't care less if the took his name down or not.
  23. How about the players show up? These Chargers sucked, and the fans have supported them for decades. Threatening the fans, "you better show up"....Dicks.
  24. haha, I wouldn't call his performances "lucid". I think he opened the door for Shannon Sharpe.
  25. Yep, Kantner was okay. I like some of the Airplane stuff, and appreciate how he left Starship. He probably just took the last big payout (+ future royalties), and GTFO. "Surrealistic Pillow" is worth a listen.
