  1. Well, my comments were in response to JoHemet's comment about him expecting the top pick to be a DE. I am expecting it to be a DE too, I just think it would be (another) mistake. I'm all for a space eating NT from FA, or any pick but the first. I want a playmaker, not a facilitator. Linebacker, WR, OL or a QB if the right guy is there. Anything else will disappoint me.
  2. I'm not really concerned about Mario (take him or leave him), I'm concerned about spending the top pick to replace him, when the position doesn't appear to be the focus of the scheme, and the linebackers are the weakness of the defense.
  3. So where do I find that stat? I think pressure and sacks probably come from the same places, plus we just had a d-line complaining about not being allowed to go after the QB. So "pressuring" the QB is different than going after him? "Just push to get close to him, and get your arms up, make him uncomfortable, but DON'T WORRY ABOUT SACKING HIM. A linebacker will be there soon to finish the job".
  4. Huh? Do you mean who had the sacks (I'm not prioritizing sacks, so much as using them to indicate where Wrex gets his pressure from)? The linebackers had the sacks with the Jets, you can go through the Jets Wrex years here... http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/nyj/2011.htm They can get a good all-rounder DE in the 2nd or later, any DE worthy of the 19th pick is surely going to want to attack the QB, and get sacks, not work the trenches so the LB's can make plays. A DT would be more appropriate (or is that splitting hairs?).
  5. Yeah, it probably will be. The thing is, apparently Wrex's scheme isn't about the DE attacking the passer or getting sacks, so bringing in a guy that excels at pass rush would be a waste, and the player probably won't be much happier than Mario Williams was, because without sacks he isn't going to get the big $$$$. And spending the 19th pick on a run stuffer/space eater would be foolish. Why spend the pick on a position that isn't the focus of the scheme, when the position that is the focus (linebacker) is the weak link in the defense?
  6. Ridiculous. Of course I would rather they win with him, but I don't expect that, so I want damage minimized. I assumed people would understand that. It's not about me being right, it's about how I expect things to unfold. I dread the team being torn apart by this fool, and then being caught in the middle again, player/scheme-wise, with the next coach. Really, that needs to be explained? Or are you just eager to question my fanhood, and rail against me for "wanting the team to lose"? I assure you, I hope Wrex takes them to the championship...but I don't believe he has it in him. There are zero people on this board that don't want the Bills to do well, or want to be right so badly, that they would rather be right about them failing, than to see them win. It's a given, as far as I'm concerned.
  7. It would be nice to think "We have the smartest coach on the field today"...but I have never felt that with Wrex. I don't need an Ivy Leaguer, but someone that exhibits advanced intelligence would inspire more confidence.
  8. Wrex might not change, but if he gone after this season (I sure hope so), then the Bills would probably be better off having M. Williams still, and having used the draft pick (or free agent money) that would be spent on his replacement go elsewhere. I hate Wrex, want him gone as soon as possible, and want to minimize the damage he will cause dismantling the team. FTW!
  9. Pay cut, and take away his refrigerator. I think he can still play, and like someone noted, it wasn't just Mario Williams who had a bad year, pretty much the whole front 7 suddenly sucked...Wrex's fault methinks. If they can figure out how to use him, I would be very happy to keep him. So if they keep him, does that mean a Nose Tackle is the only big priority for the line?
  10. I think Steve Tasker is easily the most overrated Bill of all time. I chose him because so many consider him Hall of Fame worthy. An excellent Special Teams player, a good receiver too. Not a Hall of Famer.
  11. This song... and the series "Peep Show".
  12. I know you have taken a beating around here after the Denver win, and are trying to wring a victory out of your many other conflicts on the board, but just calm down, man. The positions have been declared, we can return to this when there are new developments on the matter. Good day!
  13. How many times do I need to spell it out? Just read the thread...I have nothing more to add at this point.
  14. Chan and Mr. Workforce Educational Organization will evade, and refuse to see it from any other angle. I suggest you just let the story unfold, and come back to gloat at a later date.
  15. Sometimes they are guys that are still good, just not up to the level their big contract, and they can be signed at a reasonable rate. I don't know much about these particular players, so I asked. It may be just the right time to give up on some of the O-linemen the Bills have drafted...or the right time may have even passed for some. I'd like the team to always be open to improving.

  17. Dear Never NEVER Give-up, Cam gave up. Sincerely, HoF Watkins
  18. Those guys have their own brand of douche. I suppose you want to bicker about them vs. Newton....
  19. I'm fine with Newton, but it feels like he is putting on a false face by "having fun", acting light hearted, and giving balls to kids, when really he is trying to attract attention to himself, and build up his image and "brand". Then when he loses, it all quickly fades, and out comes a sullen, selfish, spoiled douchebag. That's okay, he is just a quarterback on a sports team, and there are plenty of those kinds of guys throughout the NFL, and he happens to get more of the spotlight. I have low expectations for athletes.
  20. You lost some money, didn't you?
  21. Nope. Look at the small GIF in this article http://deadspin.com/ron-rivera-has-cam-newtons-back-on-that-loose-ball-1758016610?utm_campaign=socialflow_deadspin_twitter&utm_source=deadspin_twitter&utm_medium=socialflow right next to the heading "Cam Newton Wanted No Part Of That Game Sealing Fumble", it's clear. He probably wouldn't have even been hurt. The guy was falling, and reaching out with his arm, his helmet wasn't moving very fast, it wasn't directed at Newton's knee, and he was more interested in getting the ball, than going for Newton's knee.
  22. Yep, a local LA radio, former player has said the same thing, it wasn't the press conference, it was quitting on the fumble that seems to bother ex-players most.
  23. Belichick is better. Wade has great players right now.
  24. I have played sports with guys very much like Newton. Great local athletes, the best player in a league, but would give off the attitude of "I played good enough, it's the rest of you that need to play better for us to win"...it's often true, but it's not good leadership, especially on the field. Marino often gave off that vibe, appearing to throw teammates under the bus.
  25. I wonder how he and Josh Norman are getting along...
