This team lacks leadership. Not that these guys can't be leaders, but none of them have been around long enough to have any kind of commitment to each other. That's another thing about having a long term,"franchise QB", he can provide an identity, and set the standards for the team. Tyrod, and McCoy...these guys feel like temps hired as foremen. Dareus should be a leader, but he is suspended for smoking weed...awesome. That leaves E. Woods, R.Woods, and Watkins on offense, and I don't know...Kyle Williams, and Gilmore on defense. These are the guys that are supposed to shape the team, and it's slim pickin's. None of the running backs, a position that demands heart, and self sacrifice, are leaders. Not one is a "give me the rock, and I can will this team to the endzone"-guy. This year's team is going nowhere, and sadly I don't see much better on the horizon.

Week 2 predictions: Jets at Bills on TNF
Prickly Pete replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the defense will play okay, and the offense will be bad, but get 17 points. But the Jets will get 24. I really hope someone gets fired soon. -
When I typed "they", I wasn't just referring to the media. I expect a rigged election, an assassination, or at least an impeachment soon after taking office.
-
I don't believe they will allow Trump to become the president.
-
Then you need to broaden your reading sources.

The way the media covers for her is disturbing, because it makes me think "What do all the people/corporations etc, have at stake if Hillary loses, and Trump becomes president?" Her support is basically across the board from Corporations, Media, both political parties....

It's mind boggling that anyone can accept what is being shoveled out. It's blatant, but Hillary supporters "want to believe", and will turn a blind eye to all of it. If someone tells me "Hillary is corrupt, but Trump is worse", I can at least see they aren't just turning away. But that's not what I hear from most of them. They just deny that Hillary is anything but a great woman, trying to make the world a better place, and any attacks are motivated by racism, and misogyny.

This stuff isn't funny to me, it's terrifying. I can't believe the blatant coordination of the media with the Clinton campaign. How can any voters just accept this from a candidate, and from the MSM? Tell me things haven't always been skewed like this? It's sickening. Didn't Nixon get chased out of office for activities way less corrupt, and didn't the media at that time aggressively condemn him?

Lots to laugh at here...

Never happened. But this did.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZfp6Cxg5LA

Hey man, I was just kidding! We all know there isn't any footage of groups of Trump supporters accosting his opponent's supporters. I want you to return, to hopefully persuade you that Hillary is way more dangerous than Trump.
-
Nah. I can't speak for other people, but I don't feel that way, and I don't believe that the vast majority of anti-Hillaryites/TrumpHasToWin-ers feel that way. You have obviously dug yourself in on this. There are just as extreme, nutty Progressives supporting Hillary. The "toxic masculinity" crowd. Many in the BLM movement. The guys waving Mexican flags at anti-Trump protests. Virtually all the violence has come from the anti-Trump faction...amirite? I think an old Vet guy in his 70's socked a young black woman in the head, when she was being extremely obnoxious at a Trump rally...that's about it. When you have footage of someone being chased by Trump supporters like this, get back to me... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PI-1xXoC2Wk

I've been aware of it for years, but I wouldn't describe myself as alt-right. I consider a variety of perspectives, and reach my own conclusions.

No, I don't.

Absurd. There are extremists at the far end of any movement (even Black, Asian, and Latino [gasp!]).

Kaepernick and the National Anthem

I've read this kind of sophistry from Black Leadership, but can't recall a label for it. -
Kaepernick and the National Anthem
Prickly Pete replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
No doubt there is a way to spin it. Maybe something like..."You aren't black, so you can never understand the qualities needed to lead in the black community!" Good thing they have the likes of Jesse Jackson, Lew Alcindor, and Kaepernick. -

You guys are sticklers. How about "this guy has way stronger leadership qualities"....? -
Kaepernick and the National Anthem
Prickly Pete replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The anguish and pain in that guy's voice is crushing to me. I have seen a few videos like these, and know there are many decent people, trapped in terrible circumstances. And "Black Leadership" lets them down when they sidestep black's own responsibility in the equation. He has nowhere to turn. Tragic. I have yet to hear about any high profile blacks taking any kind of action relating to helping or encouraging black witnesses or crimewatch programs. Maybe I have just missed it. It wouldn't get the same coverage that silly ass, "look at me" protests against the Man like Kaepernick's, get. -
Kaepernick and the National Anthem
Prickly Pete replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
So is this guy.... https://twitter.com/CloydRivers/status/771540194835046401 I have truck loads of respect for this guy. I'm actually afraid for him. He brings up one of the big pieces of the problem. The reluctance of blacks to testify against black criminals. This guy has way more leadership potential than Kaepernick, but will hardly get any attention. How about a high profile black athlete gives some "real talk" about this side of the story? If there is an aspect that could help improve the situation for law abiding blacks, that the police have some control over, it is there. Providing witness protection, and gaining some trust with potential witnesses could effect some changes. -

Your honest prediction for the Bills record this year
Prickly Pete replied to Spurna's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have 6-10. I had low expectations after last season, and nothing that happened in the last few months has raised my hopes. I've never been less excited about them than this off-season. I felt at the end of last season it would be best to get rid of Wrex, but knew realistically that they wouldn't. So it's another wasted season. The only hope lies with Tyrod. If he makes a massive leap, they might have a good season. But sadly, I think we have pretty much seen all Tyrod has to offer, and expect just a slightly better performance from him. I hope I'm wrong.
