Kyle Shanahan for Head Coach. Here is why...

I think Tyrod is already done here anyway. I doubt Shanahan has much interest in coming here either. But I would try to find out. -

Yeah, I can see that. What do people think of Dabo Swinney? I have seen a couple mentions of him, but don't know if he is considered a candidate for ANY NFL jobs. -

I would be stunned too. I doubt Whaley will bring in someone that might challenge him, so Lynn has to be the favorite. Shanahan would seem to be a logical choice for LA. I really want the Bills to get an offensive head coach. As bad as the defense played, they invested the top 3 picks to the defense, and didn't have Lawson for much of the season or camp, and Ragland at all. They need Safety help...get a decent Free Agent. I want another WR, and another high pick O-lineman...and a coach with a history of developing QB's. They have to construct an offense ready for whoever the next 'franchise" QB will be. Dak Prescott would have sucked with these Bills. -
Shaq Lawson - let's do this

I have heard nothing but bad things about his stint in Denver. He was hated by everyone from office staff to players.

Is there any chance we cut or trade Wood next year?

He is Just A Guy at this point. A "leader" of perennial loser. -

Years ago I suggested the Bills select a Center in the draft, because a high rated Center can be had at a lower rated pick than a Guard. I felt that Wood could start at Guard, and back up at Center. I was ridiculed, and everyone said "why move guy from a position that he excels at?) Well, I felt that they could improve the line with a lower round pick AND have a great backup Center. Now, Wood has fallen off at Center, and Groy is just as good. Try Wood at Guard. -

Derek Carr and Marcus Mariota Both Done for 2016

I think you are right about Cook getting into a game. I have been carrying around some bitterness towards the Bills since the draft for not selecting him. I'm hoping they try to work out a trade for him this off-season. -
Anthony Lynn: Should he be the next head coach?

Jeff Fisher is an !@#$, and not a good coach. His behavior in LA takes him off any list. -

I don't care to see it. Wrex Wyan is in my rear-view mirror. -
Drum Roll Please, Bills New QB for 2017 is:

Get Cutler Roll the dice with Cardale See if they can get Sean Mannion Trade for Connor Cook A lot depends on who the HC is. A Two-Minute Offense Specialist is an interesting concept. I watched a bunch of trick play videos after the Poe TD pass last night, and I don't see why teams don't do that kind of thing WAY more often. It would put so much more pressure on defenses. Unless you have a QB that can consistently, and methodically sustain long drives, I don't see why you wouldn't use trick plays OFTEN. Tyrod is actually perfect for a trick play offense, because he is such a great runner (I'm sure he can catch reasonably well, too) If you are going 3-and-Out repeatedly, you have little to lose. -
So here is my question (Offense and Taylor)
Prickly Pete replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No way would I pay Tyrod. He might be more valuable to a different team, but not these Bills. Romo won't make it through another season, and I can't see him wanting to finish his career in Buffalo. WOn't happen. Cutler is interesting. If they could get him cheap (I think they can) I would roll the dice. Of course he is a douche, but so is Aaron Rodgers. We have no idea where Cardale is in his development, but there is a sliver of hope there. I'm gonna pull out a name that everyone will laugh at....Connor Cook. I remain convinced that he is going to be at the least a "very good" pro QB, and doucheness aside (see above), I would offer the Raiders a 3rd, or some kind of package. Go ahead and laugh. -
Anthony Lynn: Should he be the next head coach?
Prickly Pete replied to TallskiWallski83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ha. It's not the defense, or the offense, each has had good, bad, great, and terrible performances this season. It's the way the team is constructed, and how the parts are used. -
Shanahan.
-
yeah, that wasn't some kind of "they should have passed", or "they should have run", or "why didn't they use so and so?"...it was just somehow deciding on the exact type of play where they, by themselves, actually take the ball out of field goal range. That it was also in overtime, a slow developing play, and they were giving it to Bush, are just extra spoons of gravy. YOU DON'T TAKE THE BALL BACKWARDS WHEN YOU ARE IN FIELD GOAL RANGE!
-
Now I see why you supported the Reggie Bush play, you like Anthony Lynn for the HC. Nope, ain't happening. Thankfully.
-
Nope. You are a fool. They didn't need a play that "worked", they needed a play that wasn't DESIGNED to take the ball to what would be out of field goal range, to hand it off. That was all they needed, but they dug into the play book to find one where they would hand the ball off 8 yards behind the line of scrimmage. Even a run straight into the line, stopped for a 2 yard loss would have be fine.
-
I came to the board just to comment on this play. People can bicker about what play cost them the game, or "it was the offense", "it was the defense"...this or that guy sucked. But this play was the point where they had the game in their hand, and let it go. I can't believe Lynn or whoever called it is a professional. It was the absolute worse play they could call. "Let's give the ball to a guy 10 yards off the line of scrimmage, and take us out of field goal range. Let's use the RB that rarely see's the field. I think it's gonna fool 'em." !@#$ing idiots.

Be honest...who wants to lose to the Browns?
Prickly Pete replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yes, yes.... Maybe Wrex Wyan can ride off into the sunset with a new, modern-classic, lose/win quote of his own? I think he needs one, to put a cherry on top of his controversial career. One for the ages. -

I want them to lose, but with a winner's mentality! "We didn't really lose, we just ran out of time."
