  1. I commented before the Denver game that I am hoping the Bills will try to trade for him this off-season. If he plays well, his market value should shoot up, and maybe he will make it on to their radar. He is already better EJM, and I think he could have done what Dak Prescott has, if he had been selected by the Cowboys instead of Dak. He was WAY undervalued at the draft, due to worries about his personality. I think it was overblown, and he is probably no worse than say, Aaron Rodgers. He will be fine. I'm more interested in this playoff game now, than if he wasn't playing.
  2. yeah, me too. Either of those guys would make me, and any QB, happy.
  3. Yeah, you are probably right. I'm sorry. Most likely he didn't care about TV markets, that's not something a guy like Ralph would consider important, that sentimental old fool.
  4. One day, you will regret that the Bills passed on him.
  5. 'Cuz he realized something that few here apparently do. That the East divisions have the largest TV markets, and that adds value to a team's brand. That kind of stuff is important to owners.
  6. Cook will win. Cook didn't even have much of a chance to prepare going into the Denver game, because they were working on getting McGloin up to speed. I stand by my past assertions that Cook will be a very good QB. The Bills missed the boat.
  7. Agreed, but I think the offense was pretty much playing at the top of it's abilities, while the defense was a mess because of a bunch of factors beyond just talent level.
  8. Yeah, I think people are deluding themselves. The bolded part is the key. Tight NFL games are won in the last 7 minutes, you gotta be able to score with your last possession. The 2 minute offense was dreadful. These are the trademarks of a good offense. It wasn't a good offense.
  9. Right, but because Buffalo was a small market, the NFL wisely decided to put them in a division with the large market NYC, Boston teams. And threw in an established NFC powerhouse franchise (the Colts) to give the division some legitimacy.
  10. How about the Bills, Jags, Bengals, and Titans? Let's shoot for the smallest TV market division, where the teams can disappear to everyone but their own fans! I bet any team in the AFC North would gladly shift to the East. How about the Steelers? That would gut that division of just about any television appeal, and immediately weaken any of the franchises in the North. The Bills are lucky to be in the East.
  11. There is no team in the NFC East that would ever, ever, ever want to leave the division that has the largest TV demographics in the country.
  12. "execute", "play fast", "be fundamentally sound"...WOW, I've never heard a coach talk like that. This guy must be great! "defense is player friendly", "built around the strengths of players", " guys who work hard", "great work ethic", "no substitute for toughness"....Woo Wee! This guy MUST be awesome!! Sounds like poppycock. Reads like those old MAD Magazine comic panels, where they make fun of coaching cliches.
  13. For the most part, every article is going to be glowing reports about how effective these guys at one thing or another. They said all the same kinds of things about the previous failures the Bills have hired....Mularkey, Marrone, Greg Williams. "ooh, it says here "...is a highly effective disciplinarian. A no-nonsense straight shooter"... oh yeah, that's what this team needs. Let's get him."
  14. It's nice to talk about on message boards, but I don't think any fans really have enough knowledge about the guys that haven't been Head Coaches before, to really give an informed opinion.
  15. Without knowing who the DC will be, it's hard to know if Safety will be as featured as it was in Wrex's scheme. I think they can get by with "average". Having 11 guys on the field, and clearer responsibilities will be a big help. This season was such a mess, that I'm not convinced that we can judge the defense so harshly. Both the offense and the defense had some good games, some bad. The offense couldn't pull out close games, with a final possession score. It wasn't that good. It appears that Watkins can't be counted on to play each week, either. They need an influx of talent on Offense, IMHO. He is going to have hip surgery.
  16. They just spent their top 3 picks on defense last draft. One didn't play at all, one missed training camp and some early games. Let these guys develop. I think some of the problem with the defense was coaching and scheme. Get a couple free agent Safeties (or a 2nd rounder, if you must). The pass offense was the worst in the NFL, and the high rushing ranking is a little deceptive because lots of it was Tyrod. I want OFFENSE. The offense scored lots of points, but watching the games, it rarely felt right, and was never reliable enough to score when they needed it at the end of tight games. It needs improvement. Look at what Oakland has done with their big wide-outs. I would love Mike Williams. A WR, or at least another Olineman, would help a QB, be it Tyrod, or whoever else. The Dallas offense (great Oline) should be the model they follow. Until a QB falls into their lap, they need to have everything in place to help a QB succeed. It would also make it a much more desirable place for any free agent QB the Bills might eventually have a chance to sign. It's hard to get a feel without knowing who the coaches will be, but I want offense.
  17. So if Whaley was never that in to Wrex Wyan, how did he get so lucky to have Anthony Lynn (a Wrex protege) just happen to be the best guy for the HC job, now?
  18. We (the fans) don't need to know the names. The next coach needs to know the names.
  19. "We're gonna go over the basics this week, guys." Maybe the coaches should have had everyone wear nametags this week, too?
  20. I didn't get past #2. How many coaches went over " when the ball is kicked off, and goes more than 10 yards, make sure you get possession of it" this week, to prepare their team? I bet NONE. Especially a team that just replaced the head coach that week. I don't want Lynn, but that mistake is all on the PROFESSIONAL football players.
  21. A great post-game handshaker. He would shake hands with anyone, down to the opposing team's ballboys. So good. Funny, I felt good. I always supported EJM, but by now he has just been collecting paychecks, and perhaps that push was what he needed to move on to a career as a high school coach or something along those lines.
  22. The way he looks today, I'm thinking he won't be resigned, will try to make a roster next season, and won't make it. This may be it for EJM.
  23. I don't know if I agree with these players coming out and saying it, but I believe that discipline is a big problem with this team. There are coaches that could have gotten to the playoffs with this roster (Belichick, and Andy Reid come to mind).
