  1. Okay, insert all of your smart remarks here. Seriously, here's the question http://205.134.161.85/forums/index.php?showtopic=9508 Then again, I'm all for the entertainment derived from another amusing 20+ page thread.
  2. How do you distinguish between the two? This piece of fabric 'drapes' from a traversing rod 'curtaining' off a door/window.
  3. Dang, I inadvertently posted this b4 I had finished, so I had to go back & edit & I already have like 8 responses. Thanks and y'all can call me a jerk if you want. Hey, would maybe pouring beer on it work?
  4. There's no instruction tag or anything on it. The inside liner is like (cotton?) pillow case type material. The outside is..., well, curtain material. Do I take this to a dry cleaner? Use/rent a steam cleaner, or just throw it in the wash? IIRC, it was what I would consider moderately pricey (~$200 to cover a sliding glass door). Reason I ask is I got some blood on it (my dog got into a fight w/ a pit bull) & upon closer inspection (I always keep it closed so the room is dark) it's kinda dirty from 12 years of just hanging there, too. Thanks, signed your domestically challenged, middle-aged bachelor.
  5. At my former employers, Commodity Trading Advisors, I did a limited amount of trading in Futures Options. Don't know if I can be of much help, (I do consider myself fairly proficient at Yahoo-ing ) but if you wanna ask, I'll give it a try. (You can PM me if you prefer.)
  6. I'd guess it's what Stussy said. It would seem that they'd be more concerned w/ rug burns, but I'd think they'd be more prone to have them below the elbow. Also, those bands are pretty thin (i.e. don't cover much skin area). I use one for my knee as I play a lot of Volleyball. FWIW though, I wouldn't think receivers would be putting much strain on their elbows in that fashion; DBs, LBs, linemen & QBs (especially) I could believe. So maybe they are just to 'look cool'.
  7. My observations I was just out, just after 2am EST outside Albany, NY.
  8. That was/is SOOO Effing AWESOME! I went out about 10:00pm when I read here that they were visible. I didn't see a thing. (My northern horizon is obstructed.) Went out again shortly b4 2am w/ the dog & again it didn't look like much. If it wasn't for the fact that the southern sky was so clear, I woulda just thought it was illuminated clouds (I live a few miles due south of the 'big' city of Albany). After a few minutes, they start to flare up. Waves of light. The beams become more intense. Mostly just a pale blue hue but there was a significant amount of red for a short period of time. It looked like there was something wrong w/ my eyes or something. If I've seen the Northern lights b4, it was never like this. I wish I knew what the horizon looked like, but I could see from maybe 20° azimuth (is that the right term?) or so & there was occasional stuff visible upto directly overhead. Wow
  9. I believe if one player calls for a FC, the other player has to oblige that call as well. I could be wrong about that however. Bear in mind, doing so is kind of 'unfair '. Looks like what happened to me is that NC called for the FC, but couldn't get to the ball, F/J Smith caught the ball & was about to run, but stopped & fell realizing that the FC had been called (prohibiting from running after the catch).
  10. Yes, thank you. Actually, it is him about 100 pounds ago. (He's a Great Dane.)
  11. 1st, I'd like to thank y'all for a very amusing thread. Now, If I can add something: AFAIK, currency conversions (or how to use Google) has anything to do w/ the stock market unless you're trying to do some sort of arbitrage of ADRs or something.
  12. Seems we're likely down to only 3 healthy WRs. Who do we get to play the 4th? How bout Moorman, or is he too valuable? Willis? McGee? Preileau (sp?) ?
  13. I agree that it puts our best 4 DBs on the field when only using 4 DBs. But what about nickel & dime? That's what I'm concerned about. Is Vincent going back to CB then, or does Thomas become our 5th back.
  14. I'm trying to restore an instrument bezel from a car. How can I paint the very small white letters neatly? Thanks.
  15. I'm out for a walk & notice someone has 'BUSI' scalped into the grass of their front lawn. Took me a moment to realize they were trying to put 'BUSH'. What does this say about the typical Bush supporter if they don't know that if you only have about 28' of good grass, you can't spell 'BUSH' w/ 8' wide letters?
  16. Unfortunately, I was just checking this today, but statistically, Moorman isn't doing too well. Sadly, I think this is the primary means used for picking a punter. A shame, 'cuz he certainly is doing a GREAT job.
  17. In comparing McGee to Brown from last year, you have to remember his supporting cast is different & probably better. Most important is that there's a different ST coach along w/ presumably better schemes and plans. But, yeah McGee is still very good.
  18. The thought that we'd pull Bledsoe 'cuz we would be WINNING by a sizable margin never occured to me. It's a shame 'cuz this would be the ideal time for JPL to get in there & just get use to being in a real game w/ no pressure to do well.
  19. Maybe 'cuz he was so awesome when he was w/ SD? Or Fergy pulled down his grade playing for Detroit &/or whereever else he played post-Bills. I'd also like to add w/ respect to NE, what about Grogan? I might be inclined to put him above both Brady & DB.
  20. I don't know if you could say 'again', but I wish I would have seen Gale Sayers. (He was b4 my time.)
  21. I don't believe an extreme rudder position is sufficient to induce a spin. In order for a plane to spin, the wings must be fully stalled AND in uncoordinated flight. I think all a FUBARed rudder will do is create a vicious yaw and make the plane more difficult to control properly.
  22. My understanding was that when he redid his contract it was specifically structured so that he would remain here thru 2005. I think that even those (rational) who view his abilities at the worst will concede that he's still a better backup than probably 20 other teams have. This being the case, it would be fiscally imprudent to cut him even next year.
  23. As for the punt, from my perspective it was inconclusive either way. i.e. since it was called a no-touch, they weren't about to overturn the original call. As for Bledsoe just walking off the field, either a) he's a leader & is showing the troops the way to go, or B) he realized the futility of staying on the field & trying to score.
