What he said. Although, IMO the loss of PW wasn't THAT substantial. IIRC, even though he was basically always healthy, he played in less than 60% of the defensive plays. That means that > 40% of the time, the defense would've been just as good w/ my dead grandma taking up his roster spot. Granted, in hindsight, it appears that losing him for the other 60% was quite a downgrade. Back to the original question, my opinion is that this is just TSN not being well informed. Then again, something can be said about the difference between working hard & working smart. He may hav e been very diligent last year, but much of his efforts may have been for naught (either due to his own inexperience &/or lack of direction from his instructors).

Where did Bruce and Demi get the name Rumor?

Jeez, & I thought they were Bananarama fans -
Hey, give the guy a break. He figured all he had to do was elude 11 guys and he was home free. Hopefully, y'all are sufficiently familiar w/ Canadian football to see the humor in that.

One of the 1st "useful" sites I found when I started surfing, circa '94. (The other was a listing of all the lyrics to Jimmy Buffett songs.) IIRC, back then, you could actually download their entire database as ASCII & search yourself.

Interesting observation. I'm not familiar w/ msg tubes, but here's a way it might work: You have a vacuum pump on a tee in 'the middle' of the tube. Near 'the other end', you have a switchable valve that usually is closed. This will allow suction to take stuff from inside The Pearl and propel it down the tube. Somewhere inline, b4 the pump tee there's a sensor that sees an object traveling down the tube. This sensor turns off the pump and opens the valve at the other end. The momentum of the object is sufficient for it to procede out the other end of the tube. If you needed to fool the Pearl observers that the tube was always on, you'd need an extra valve (normally open) and a second vacuum pump.

My rather dubious highlight, is that I completed a pass! I played one yr of semi-pro & was a punter. I'm rolling left (I'm left-handed), being chased, just b4 I'm about to be tackled, while still on the run, I throw a perfect pass to someone that has about 1/2 step on the coverage guy. Presumably (I never saw it as my face was in the turf), the guy gets immediately tackled for about an 8 yard gain! The bad news is that it was 4th & 13 AND I was running for my life cuz I dropped a perfect snap.

Mine was 'Beware of Doug" (I used to work for an 'idea guy' named Doug, who frequently reaped (or is it reak ) havoc.) Hopefully, this'll work: http://www.whiterose.org/michael/blog/arch.../GL_Beware.html

Should McGee return Kickoffs this year???
eSJayDee replied to C.Biscuit97's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think you understand the logic. Returning a KO, McGee is let's just say 3 yards on avg better than anyone else. Bear in mind, that our superlative results are due as much to the other players as to him. (Thanks for the stats Lori.) On any individual defensive play, he is NOT worth ANYWHERE near 3 yards per play. Even on a pass play directed at him, he isn't worth that much. So, you're better off having him returning a kick than being on the play for a defensive snap. (Assuming of course than my injury liklihood hypothesis isn't WAY inaccurate.) Keeping a heathy player on the bench doesn't help the team too much. They're only productive if they're on the field & contributing. -
Should McGee return Kickoffs this year???
eSJayDee replied to C.Biscuit97's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As mentioned, he's one of the best KO returns in the league. Although he's a very good CB, I wouldn't put him among the leagues elite. AFAIK, there's no indication that returning kicks is any more dangerous w/ respect to risking injury than playing defense. (My guess is even on a per play basis, it's less, cuz you usually know where you're being hit from & aren't 'in the way' during pile ups.) That said, I think the marginal improvement of having him return kicks rather than someone else, definitely justifies having him do so. -
Okay, I'm just curious as to how many of us are familiar w/ that reference. I guess I should consider myself 'old'.

Another solution - From the command prompt type format c: /s NOTE : I'm just kidding, Don't do this.

I am not sure if anyone has done this yet...
eSJayDee replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nice work John, but b4 being too confident in your observations, I bring up something that Mr House alluded to. Maybe it's just that Carolina DL is so much better than ours rather than Reyes being much of an upgrade to our OL. -
I really don't care much but what peeves me off is the dude is gonna do a stunt that takes 7 minutes & they're gonna make a 2 HOUR tv show of it. What are they gonna do, have like 100 minutes of commercials?

Afraid I can't be of much help w/ your problem. As it appears you've already had your share of facetious remarks, let me add another comment. Isn't by definition an insecticide toxic?

The players themselves might have been pleasantly surprised w/ how early they were taken, but you can rest assured that their agents will still try to squeeze every penny out of the negotiations that they can (that is their job). 1st Round pick are always more difficult to sign; I believe typically the earlier the worse, so unless things have changed due to the new CBA, I'd be surprised if those two guys are signed & in camp when it 1st when it 1st opens.

This draft provides excellent opportunity
eSJayDee replied to jahnyc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think you can/should throw Cutler & Leinart out of the mix as maybe we really weren't interested in a QB (i.e. we had much more pressing holes). Good point re: watching the development of the 3 DTs, also relative to any of several that we could have had w/o surrendering a pick to move up). However, that is really only like 2 instances (value of Whitner relative to the 2 we passed on & then McCargo), which considering the crapshoot that the draft is, is hardly sufficient evidence to make a meaningful evaluation upon. Sorta like evaluating an investment advisor based solely on a couple of stock rankings. -
Gonna see a lot of idling cars in bar/tavern parking lots.

Any Mark Kelso Memories?
eSJayDee replied to I Forgot My Last Username's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No. At about the same time period, an OL guy for the 9ers wore one, too. Perhaps others, but those are/were the only 2 I know of. -
If I can add 1 more - In one of the Pink Panther movies, when Clousseau tries to cross the moat. I think the best, most LOL physical comedy ever. All those movies were great, but that one scene was classic.

Off the top of my head, two: From Trading Places : Think big, think positive, never show any sign of weakness. Buy low, sell high. Fear? That's the other guy's problem. Nothing you have ever experienced will prepare you for the unlimited carnage you are about to witness. Superbowl, World Series -- they don't know what pressure is. In this building, it's either kill or be killed. You make no friends in the pits and you take no prisoners. One moment you're up half a mil in soybeans and the next, BOOM!, your kids don't go to college, and they've repossessed your Bentley. Also, for another reason, the Jamie Lee Curtis dance scene from True Lies.

I don't know whether or not he has a drug problem (nor do you). He DOES have a problem w/ the NFL substance abuse policy.

I gotta watch more women's volleyball...
eSJayDee replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually, IMO as woman vball players go, Misty May is a ways down the list (not that she's not quite attractive). Her partner, Kerri Walsh is hotter. And Rachel Wachholder is practically another species.
