No, I think I've got it right, but I'm not certain as to the specifics. You may recall, a few yrs ago, Daniel $nyder charged admission for 'Skins camp, but one of the reasons the practice was stopped was that it allowed scouts to see them. The NFL wants to promote to the public & one of the ways is to allow free viewing of practices.

IANAL, but I believe one of the primary benefits of an S-Corp is that liability doesn't automatically transfer to the ownership. i.e. Someone tries to sue RTDB Enterprises for $10m for hearing loss due to one of your concerts, all they could get was what was held by the company rather than your personal assets. Depending on the business, I could see how you would still potentially have personal liability due to freud, legligence, fiduciary duty, etc.

I do know that WRT training camp, scouts are not permitted UNLESS you charge for admission. WRT 'knowing the playbook', I don't think that's really that much of a deal. The playbook itself probably amounts to 100s if not in excess of 1000 pages (or the equivalent - it's probably computerized). W/o knowing the specifics of what is intended for that particular week (i.e. which 50 plays, out of what formations and what down & distance; the equivalent on defense) it is probably of minimal value. Bear in mind, many teams all run the same basic plays. (You hear about this all the time as players are often learning new playbooks & basing their understanding on previous knowledge.) Granted, if your plan of attack is based on a few 'gadget plays' that are designed to be used only once, you could lose the element of surprise. I'd be more concerned w/ the 'decoding' of signals. Presumably, they have some form of 'encryption' that they can modify each week so that a player on the other sidelines can't steal the audibles given at the LOS, but I don't know.

Gotta a strange car repair question for y'all
eSJayDee replied to The Poojer's topic in Off the Wall Archives
That makes it more perplexing. Sorry, about the only thing I can suggest is some 30 weight ball bearings & about 10 qts of Prestone anti-freeze. No wait, better make that Quaker State. -

Are they (the wipers & radio) on the same circuit? (You can check the owners manual for which fuse feeds what). Also, does the clock maintain the time (i.e. just the display kicks out) or does it require resetting each time? Just a guess but if they are indeed on the same circuit, I'm guessing the wiper motor is mometarily drawing too much current which causes a short instant when your radio is getting too low or no voltage consequently causing your clock to go off. -
I don't think you can. The NFL publishes it in book form. It presumably is copyrighted material & of course why would the NFL want to share for free what they can get $ for. One thing unfortunate is that by the time the book gets published, it's like 2 yrs out of date. I had an older copy but my dog ate it (seriously).

why fast freddy and not George Wilson?
eSJayDee replied to Robert Paulson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How do you know that? AFAIK, Dennis the Menace has been around a LONG time, probably from b4 when I was born & I'm pretty sure b4 GW, the football player, was born. Maybe his parent named him as a tribute to their favorite comic strip? If this was the case, then it wouldn't be a coincidence, would it? -
We knew what we had on the DL & I think we're okay in that regard, but yes, OL we're thin (I'm not speaking of the guys girth ) & it is somewhat of a surprise that they went w/ such inexperienced BUs. WRT DT, you knew Triplett & McCargo were locks. Anderson was likely to be in the mix & we were all pleasantly surprised by Williams. Since we opted to keep 'quality' players at other positions, it dictated that we keep the #s low at others. Personally, I don't think a 5th DT or DE brings much. As for DE, Schobel, Kelsay & Denney were pretty much locks and everyone else was basically a 'nobody'; the only question was which one (or 2) we kept. For OL, I was hopeful that Gibson would pan out, but apparently he is/was washed up. What I saw of McFarland he sucked but I don't know how much of that was attributable to injuries (he's rather inexperienced, too, anyway). As others have said elsewhere, Jerman was mediocre (& I'm being kind relative to others appraisals) so I guess the thought was it was better to cross ones fingers and go w/ younger players that have more upside.

Does Shaud Williams wash the coach's car?
eSJayDee replied to Toledo Bill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That was worth a smile. Maybe I'm slow, but I hadn't heard that one b4. -
Maybe those 2 items are not related. Maybe he/she was indeed out of the office Aug 9-14 AND regardless of that fact, they don't answer their email anyway.

Good, and some bad news for Bills in HD
eSJayDee replied to HurlyBurly51's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Isn't it just BROADCAST tv that is required to be in HD? In other words, channels that are exclusively available on cable &/or satellite are exempt and still be broadcast in analog. -
And I thought "Senority" was how Spanish the guy was.

Good, and some bad news for Bills in HD
eSJayDee replied to HurlyBurly51's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
AFAIK, they still use the original network feeds. If CBS doesn't broadcast in HD, the only way they can telecast in HD is to do some funny business (think much of TNT-HD). Either they only show part of the pic to get the 4:3 to fit into 16:9, or they stretch it, or some combination thereof. Further, I doubt that the original digital transmission, if it even exists is in hi-res, so think worse that Directv-HD due to the conversion. So no, I would assume that if CBS isn't HD, then Superfan won't be either. -
Holy Crap, Check Out what Neil Rackers can do
eSJayDee replied to Stl Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Gotta be edited. Can't tell from the YouTube, but those look like long kicks, perhaps 50 yds. There's NO way that someone, even someone EXCEPTIONALLY accurate can hit an upright from that distance more than maybe 10% of the time. Think about it - you've gotta be accurate to w/in about 2'. To do it 4x in a row? You'd likely need over 1000 takes. -
Awful Backfield Blocking, #1 O Liability
eSJayDee replied to AKC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
re: pass blocking from our backs: I seem to recall a couple or more years ago, we had a part time RB who absolutely MAULED oncoming rushers. I can't say for certain that he actually picked up the right guy, but often the guy that he engaged, the guy literally ended on his butt. I'd be inclined to think that the RB in question was McGahee in his rookie yr. Can someone correct me &/or confirm my recollection? -
This just in, football players, especially those that play in the trenches are STRONG. I'm not familiar w/ the play in question, but it's entirely possible that the player in question just beat Royal, or perhaps Royal wasn't ready to block him. If you 'only' weigh 250 lbs & a guy that can bench about 500 hits you either by surprise or when you're off balance, he WILL be able to push you, if not entirely knock your butt on the ground. If this happened consisitently to him by the guy he was assigned to block, I'd be inclined to say he doesn't belong in the NFL playing TE, and definitely shouldn't qualify as a good blocker, but I wouldn't draw any conclusions from 1 play.

Hey, you've seen my car! Seriously, it's very 'pretty', but certainly doesn't provide the comfort, convenience and reliability of a modern car, nor is it devoid of annoyances. Of course the 8 mpg goes along w/ the bad emissions. And to Jim, at least for the time being, I'm not leaking anything! (But it is a constant battle.)

I think a significant portion of what is visible is NOT 56 years old. AFAIK, breasts do not substantially enlarge once you hit menopause. Also, that face looks like it's morphed quite a bit from what she looked like 10 or 20 yrs ago & I don't think that's attributable to aging either. Hey, I've got a '68 Charger, & there's a lot of parts on it that aren't 40 yrs old. Like the car, calling her (& of more importance) and her appearance as that of a 56 yr old woman is a great misnomer.

Iran seized a Romanian oil rig off Kish Island.
eSJayDee replied to Tux of Borg's topic in Off the Wall Archives
A show of force? I wouldn't think overtaking an oilrig w/ 26 workers on it requires much 'force'. I would think that 2 or 3 guys w/ handguns would be sufficient. I'm sure we have armed robberies over here that are more forceful. Bombing Pearl Harbor (damn those Germans ) was a show of force. Overtaking a commercial oilrig is more a sign of lawlessness. -
Correlation between early OL picks and winning
eSJayDee replied to Orton's Arm's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the problem w/ your theory, is that you're not looking at enough data and a fair amount of what you're looking at is flawed &/or irrelevant. If you drafted an OL in the 1st round in 2001 & he's no longer w/ your team (i.e. lost in FA, hurt, just sucked royal moose pud), what relevance does that have to your 2005 performance? Likewise, I'd be inclined to think that the fact that a 2005 draft choice is still riding the pine won't have much bearing on performance (One could even theorize that it's detrimental, cuz that pick could've been used elsewhere & contribute more.) Also, cuz you're dealing w/ such minimal data (0-3) AND your that your 2 round cut-off is somewhat arbitrary AND a late 2nd round choice is virtually the same as a high 3rd round it just seems to me that there's too many varaibles to feel too confident in your conclusions. (Then again, I guess your conclusion is that drafting OL high is uncorrelated to performance.) But I think what I'm trying to say, is that all of the above is the cause. I do, however, commend you on your efforts to come up w/ a theory and try to quantitatively substantiate it. Now, can you tell me what the price of Gold is gonna do next week? -
Who is your Favorite Bill now and all time
eSJayDee replied to bills_fan_in_raleigh's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All-time - Chandler, w/ Fergy probably 2nd. Right now, I think I'd go w/ Moorman. -
Rob, you ignorant slut.

Josh Reed - Has he done anything this preseason?
eSJayDee replied to firstngoal's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If that truly is the case, the guys better than Jerry Rice ever was. A 50:50 ratio would mean that EVERY time you throw to him, it's a completion. (It would be more appropriately be shown as 1:1.) I think what you meant was 2:1, i.e. 50%, which is probably not too bad considering that a decent QB will only complete like 60% which also comprises a certain percentage of throw aways and likely is also padded by high %age passes such as dump-offs. -
Aaron Gibson - how is he doing?
eSJayDee replied to port allegany's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually Seymour was the other way around. He played T in college, & from day 1 was a TE for the Bills. (Which w/ the game play at the time, our TEs of recent years would be considered prolific rcvrs, so he was essentially a 3rd T.) -
For those who say the line hasn't been adressed
eSJayDee replied to PJBrown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's not that it hasn't been addressed, it's that it hasn't been SUCCESSFULLY addressed. We've had decent turnover, mostly in an attempt to improve it. (I'd be inclined that letting Jennings go was 'ignoring' the line, but I realize that it was a value decision AND that he is injury prone.) However, when you consider that our best linemen was an unsigned FA (at a position other than line at that) and that some are comparing him favorably to a 4th pick in the draft (who was a consensus pick that high), it only goes to show how futile & poor of a job we've done in trying to improve the line. (An aside, IMO MW was at one time playing very solidly but for whatever reason, most likely motivation, was unable to improve or even maintain that level.) I'm hopeful that we have indeed improved the line play. If we haven't, I think we are again destined to have one of worst offenses in the league.
