Actually, I think it was the 4x100 YARD relay. They adopted the 4x100 METER several yrs later (I'll guesstimate about 12) which is why the rcd still holds.

Why do helicopter pilots operate their craft
eSJayDee replied to Beerball's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Could it be as simple as helicopters were maybe invented/developed in England whereas fixed wing (where you fly from the left) were developed here & they maintained the driving convention? I've heard the reason that people drive on the left as a hold over from riding horses w/ a joust or sword (you wanted it in your dominant hand & ready for oncoming "traffic"). Why we adopted right over here, IDK (I do remember the old Michael Landon commercials as a kid "right is right"). -
I haven't read the blog yet, but I'd also be willing to bet that Chan & CB "chat" weekly. CB is primarily a propaganda machine, & conversing w/ him provides virtually no benefit WRT the product out on the field. Ralph & Chan's chats might also have little benefit, but they are a necessary "overhead" that is required of management.

Other than Bachelor Party, this was the only other movie that came immediately to mind. Totally different movies, but as I recall, VBT was quite good.

Some radials (does any one use anything other than radials these days?) are unidirectional, ie they should NOT be rotated left to right. I'd ask the svc dept at Keeler & see what they recommend.

So is improving your video gaming adequate reason to get your prostate checked? I think not.

Just another way for the Church to serve it's primary purpose - to make $.

The reason it "works" is that 1x11=11. If you think about how one multiples several digit #s, you take each digit of 1 # in turn and multiple it across all digits of the other. In this case, each time, you're adding another to the next position/power of ten. This occurs until you start running out of carries, then the process is reducted by one each time. I probably didn't do a good job explaining that, but think about it & it should be apparent to you. On a somewhat related note, did you know that 0.999999... = 1.0?

The Annual "Worst to First" Report - 2010
eSJayDee replied to BillsPhan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree w/ you that it is possible. And in fact, given the frequency that it's done & the # of opportunities that we've had to do it, I'd almost say it's reasonable that it's EXPECTED. Further, I'd say you have your odds wrong though. Obviously, NE & Atlanta aren't able to make substantial improvements next yr. If you look at 2009 rcds, I'd hazard to guess there'd only be maybe 10 teams that would be "eligible" for such a significant turnaround, so from an empirical standpoint, the odds should be much higher. (The fact that we've been unable to do so given so many tries recently, makes me more skeptical about our chances.) -
It looked like it was a heck of a lot more than 1/8". I'd say 1/2" or maybe more. And I don't have any empirical evidence to support the opinion, I'd think that in many instances, that extra 1/2" padding WOULD be substantial (let alone that for head to head hits, you'd have 1".) You already have some padding on the inside of helmets. I'd think what the extra padding would do is slow down the brain's collision w/ the skull. Sorta like those water filled barrels that stop you from slamming into a concrete barrier. You've still got the deceleration, except that w/ the extra padding, that deceleration occurs over perhaps 1" (or 2" for head to head) rather than basically nothing. This would/should yield much less trauma to the brain.

Wasn't very impressive here in Albany NY as it was partially overcast (it was actually kinda frozen misting while I was out). At about 1:15 EST there looked was a small piece out of the upper left corner. From about 1:55 to 2:15 I was outside & it was roughly 1/2 gone & getting smaller. At 2:25 it was mostly gone & what was there looked "dim". At 2:35 I could no longer see it. Other than when it was dim, it was regular color. It was too murky to make out any details of the moon at any time. My understanding was that at 2:35 it should have been still slightly visible, but I suspect due to it's dimness & it being only a sliver, I was unable to find it in the "clouds".

Giants ST lost that one for them. Giving up the onside kick was stupid. They were heading backward for blocking & a perfect kick & easy recovery for the Iggles. It did look like Coughlin was yelling at the punter for not kicking OB, but, it was a poor snap that he had to hurry. It was a poor kick but better to get it off than not. He may well have been trying to get it OB. I'd think what perhaps was more the punters fault was, assuming that he was the safety on the coverage, he was too far down field & committed.

IIRC, Fitz ran 4 times. 2 were definitely "go back to pass, nothing available, might as well run". 1 was a designed draw. The other was a rollout, where he very quickly decided to run. I don't recall which run was on what down.

Jets player/trainer cheapshot on punt
eSJayDee replied to ofiba's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I noticed in one of the pics, you've got about 5 guys (presumably coaches) all lined up, toeing the line. That is not the natural way a bunch of guys would stand to watch a game. They've gotta be there as you said to impede the gunners progress &/or incite a penalty if the gunner goes OB. -
Veek = Kawika Mitchell. & I too seem to recall the # last yr exceeding 20 all told.

When I read XM-25, I was thinking EM-50! lol. http://reddogreport.com/2010/08/em-50-in-the-works/

Hey, we spent the 9th overall pick to be a 3rd string RB. Why wouldn't we use an earlier pick on a 2nd string QB? Seriously, even as good as Fitz played LAST yr, it's unlikely that you'd get ANY rookie QB to play that well overall. Why waste a high draft pick on someone that can't help now? Cuz we DO need help now!

LOL. Idiot.

An interesting D formation yesterday
eSJayDee replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
IMO Kelsay was actually good yesterday. I think it's cuz most of the time he was playing more like a DE rather than have to contend w/ LB responsibilities. -
Depends on how much you value $ & dislike a hassle. I will say that the 2nd time you do them, it'll be a piece of cake. The 1st time, you'll likely run into some headaches. I'm assuming you have solid rotors back there. I had great difficulty trying to find someone who cuts rotors around here, so I'd strongly suggest that you replace them as well. Retail, they're usually pretty cheap, maybe $30 each.

Even if we lose tomorrow, we're still mathematically alive for the playoffs.

Why do smart kids grow up to be heavier drinkers?

Are they confusing cause & effect? Think Buffalo Theory. -
Reminds me of the old lady playing frisbee w/ the Great Dane on a retractable leash. Edit : found it (filed under "Grandma Idiot")

Yeah, what he said. (Although to clarify, it WAS a 2 yr loan. If you wanted longer duration, the rate went up.) And my reasoning is somewhat like Jacks. I paid some cash (was in a Money Mkt making 0.5%) & borrowed the rest. The 0.9% was less than I'd be making in whatever investments I'd need to liquidate to pay for the car.
