  1. You apparently have no idea of just how much we're in debt. Over 14 TRILLION dollars. that's over $50,000 per person! Assuming every man, woman & child in this country subscribed, $9999.99 would make for a nice start.
  2. It's the look of fear. Back when Ralph was a youth & they 1st started taking pictures, they thought that the camera captured and stole your soul. It's a response that he's never managed to shake.
  3. Where's the pinned thread? Personally, I woulda thought we'd go elsewhere, maybe another LB, or DE, OT or TE. Seems like there was some value left. Gotta think it's unlikely Florence is coming back.
  4. FYI, the jibberish was written by the victim, not the subject. They're hoping that deciphering the msgs will give them insight into his (the victims) activities (shortly) b4 the murder. His parents indicated that he often wrote stuff like this, but they never knew what it meant.
  5. W/ free agency, teams really don't trade much & as such, IMO "trade value" doesn't really mean much. Looked at another way, how much would a player likely contribute to another team. Spiller .... too young/green to determine. So far, he's barely worth a roster spot. Maybin ... lucky to make any roster. McKelvin ... has potential to start on another team or at least would likely contribute, possibly even excel. Lynch ... starting, but unspectacular RB. McCargo ... doubtful he could make a roster Losman ... lucky to make a roster Evans ... likely starter, possibly a significant contributor McGahee ... When we let him go, about the same as Lynch Whitner ... see Evans Williams ... mind is drawing a blank here, so I assume not much. Wood ... he IS a solid starter Okay, just looked it up - Mike Williams. I'd say due to lack of motivation lucky to make a roster. He HAD the talent.
  6. Somewhat of a side note (perhaps not). I seem to recall Eller's ex-teammate, Alan Page is a judge.
  7. $6700 worth of damage to a 2000 Mazda sedan? How the heck do they figure that? I doubt a car like that could be worth more than $2k total.
  8. If you're using this as proof he's willing to spend $, I think this falls under the "lies, damn lies, and statistics" category. Considering that the AVERAGE compensation for a player now is almost $2m, the number of $1m players you have under contract is pretty irrelevant IMO.
  9. Just stumbled across this. Thought this was the appropriate spot for it. http://totallylookslike.icanhascheezburger.com/page/17/
  10. LOL as a matter of fact, yes.
  11. Hard to say exactly. I bought it used last yr. I think they were asking 29something. I assume you're referring to the Charger? If you know much about the value of muscle cars, you'd know that many yrs ago (like in 1983 when I bought mine) they weren't worth very much. It wasn't in good shape, but it was my only car throughout college & until I got a real job. At that time, you were still able to get a parts car for <$100 (which I did).
  12. 2 cars: '07 BMW 530ix mystic blue 6cyl '68 Charger metallic burgundy (RR1) (paid $800 for it 28 yrs ago) 440 6-pack
  13. Thanks for the explanation Steve. Receiving the question as ASCII DRAMATICALLY simplifies the task of the computer. This, in my mind, makes for an unfair completion. I read that the computer handily won a "scrimmage" a month ago. I assume it faired equally well tonite? Still, it's pretty darn impressive that it can do this. I'd be curious as to how the computer searches for the "answer". I assume does it basically just scans a huge database (obviously w/ some sort of indexing/hashing involved).
  14. The other option that would also be kinda fair is rather than Voice Recognition, is Optical Character Recognition, ie it reads the "answers". This would allow it to more easily (& most importantly - accurately) search its database.
  15. I think the outcome is very dependent on the rules, or how the competition is set up. Voice recognition, no advanced knowledge (or categorization) of the topics, no external access & typical jeopardy type questions, I'd still put $ on the people. You alter the rules sufficiently to accommodate the computer's shortcomings, & it has the potential to kick butt.
  16. TReg, this is the 2nd time you said this. How/Why? Each owner is sitting on a ~$700m asset. Granted, they are currently rcving a good income stream from this. However, I suspect that for some/most of the owners, that investment is leveraged. It's sorta like saying buying/owning a house w/ a mortgage isn't a risk. How's that worked out recently? That asset can decrease in value. That's SUBSTANTIAL risk.
  17. Reminds me of this:
  18. Was she stoned? By "stoned", I mean mentally impaired by drug use. I wouldn't be too averse to that as a punishment, though. I'd also like to point out that w/ the marvelous USPS, "priority" doesn't assure the 2 days they advertise. That puppy could have likely sat in a warehouse somewhere for days.
  19. Found another variation - Swin golf. Played w/ a rubber ball & a single, trianglar shaped headed club. http://www.behance.net/gallery/Swin-Golf/567551
  20. I ran across this: http://www.golfcross.com/golfcross/game.html I'd like to give it a try. Unfortunately, doesn't look like they have any courses in this country.
  21. I was walking to class at UB. As I was about to cut through Hayes from the parking lot, someone exiting the building said that it exploded.
  22. FWIW, according to Snopes, it's TRUE! http://www.snopes.com/business/consumer/browns.asp
  23. Wouldn't surprise me if very few hotels accept reservations on cash alone, ie you need a card. While I'm interjecting on the matter, how come no one has asked for pics yet?
  24. Playoffs don't count in regular season stats/records, so the streak is still active.
