Blizzard Announces Diablo III Release Date
eSJayDee replied to /dev/null's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Windoze 7 Home is what I have on my new PC. I wasn't able to get any versions of D-II to run except 1.13. IIRC, even after I installed it, Windoze indicated there would be problems, but best I can tell, it runs fine. -
Blizzard Announces Diablo III Release Date
eSJayDee replied to /dev/null's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I had been anxiously waiting for it's release for sometime. In fact, was waiting to upgrade my PC cuz of it. Got a virus & decided to upgrade & w/ the new PC was forced to upgrade from D-II v 1.09 to 1.13. 1.13 plays sufficiently different (at least in Hell), that it significantly lessens the desire for D-III. Think I'll put it on my Xmas wish list. -

Anybody Watch "Namath" on HBO?
eSJayDee replied to RevWarRifleman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kelly may have been more productive, but Namath was FAR more significant. His (HUGE) signing was a major coup for the AFL. (Now if the USFL succeeded, maybe we'd be talking a different tune.) He was the 1st QB to throw for 4000 yards. He was also the 1st real "superstar", at least in football. He may have only had a few really good years, but he was far bigger than Kelly or pretty much anyone since. -
Actually, a couple weeks ago or so, a newspaper headline was "At last singer terminally ill" or something of that nature. Mighta been the Syracuse paper, or more likely from a newswire.

I think one problem w/ that approach is that it plays to Fitz's weaknesses rather than strength. He's a QB that good at short, quick decision passes, a la West Coast style offense (I saw the term "Wet Toast" coined a few yrs ago to describe our putrid attempt at adopting it). Whereas it's symbiotic to compliment that "3 yards & a cloud of dust" style offense w/ a down field passing attack, something that he has shown to be a definite weakness.

That was a very nice ~6 minute time consuming drive for a TD! Unfortunately, the time for it is NOT w/ 9:00 left & you're down by 2 TDs.

I've been to a chiropractor 3x for various injuries (one each time). The benefit varied. Once was awesome - hurt my chest from landing on it playing Vb. One some relief - shoulder problem that ended up being a torn rotator cuff & suspected torn labrum. The other time was once worthless - elbow tendonitis. I would suggest giving it a try for a time or 2. Personally, I think the chance they'll do any harm is low & there's a decent chance they'll provide significant, or at least noticeable relief.

Problem sending email to hotmail and msn people - what to do?
eSJayDee replied to bbb's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I think it USED to be the case that some SMTP servers did not require login. Can you modify your email client to use same smtp-server.nycap.rr.com or something else & see if you can send an email to yourself? -

Can you use another SMTP server? -
I think if you're gonna base it on only 1 statistic, yards allowed is the most accurate. What's worse? Allowing an 80 yd drive for a TD or a 10 yd TD drive (or, even worse, allowing a TD when you're not even on the field)? Likewise, if teams drive 60 yds on you almost everytime, it's very difficult on the offense, even if they're only getting mostly FGs. ie you let up only 20 pts (which is avg) but allow 6 ~6 minute drives, your offense isn't going to get many opportunities to exceed that 20 pts & you're gonna lose more often than not.

Is Spiller any less of a bust than Maybin?
eSJayDee replied to beggar13's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd say no. Spiller hasn't produced largely cuz he hasn't been needed. He was drafted as a 3rd string RB! (IMO, it was a stupid pick) Were we to need him to be on the field, I'm confident that he'd be at least mediocre. Maybin OTOH, was a pick that addressed a specific need (which is STILL a need). The fact that he was barely able to see the field w/ at best mediocre talent in front of him is indicative of just how poor he was. WRT Maybin, I'm curious as to why he was unable to make much/any impact on ST. Seems despite his inability to play LB (or worse, DE as originally intended) you'd think someone of his desire (by all accts effort was not his problem) & athletic ability should be sufficient to do well on ST. -
I think our Dee has pretty consistently sucked. & I don't think anyone in their right mind expects that to be fixed anytime soon. Whether it's talent or scheme IDK, I tend to think it's more scheme - our players can't be that bad. As for the Offense, they sucked against the Jets. Personally, I don't think they were that poor yesterday. They moved the ball ok. Their output was limited due to terrible defense (as usual) and mistakes (poor rush recognition & some poor passes). Get the defense to play to a level of mediocrity & we can be competitive, but not dominant.

Lindell busted up; Rayner signed
eSJayDee replied to Phil Hansen Forever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It does. Especially if it's your left arm (for a right-footed kicker), which I think is the case. Sorta like saying a pitcher doesn't need a leg. -

It's his shoulder. & particularly if it's his left shoulder, it can have a pronounced effect on his mechanics. -

Moorman is fine for KOs. He handled them early in his career. His one KO this game was fine & I defy any ANY kicker to have as an effective onsides as he did (I was very surprised by that; I doubt it's something he practices much.) However, I think we do need to sign a FG kicker if for no other reason than Moorman is our regular holder as well. (Though I suppose if you're using a new kicker, ~75% of the reason to retain the old/regular holder is gone.) -
I did notice that after the stinger, he dropped/missed 2 or 3 catchable balls. I wonder to what extent it was bothering him.

Berman unveils white 'WAGONS' jersey
eSJayDee replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A cursory Google search yielded this: http://www.familyfanclub.net/Buffalo-Football-Circle-the-Wagons-Burnout-T-Shirt.html Sadly, it doesn't look like my size. (For that matter, what's a "burnout T-shirt"?) -
We do if we get a 1st round byw in the playoffs.
