I am so done with this team !!!
-
Maybe true ? Lets not forget Bill Belichick, Don Shula, Dick Vermeil and probably several others that have done quite well. Its hard to find any real correlation between NFL success of retreads vs. fresh college hires. I'm sure its out there somewhere. I think I'm pretty satisfied with our HC hiring even though we haven't played a down yet. He seems to have put a pretty good staff around him and brought in what should be some pretty good flexible players. These guys might just surprise us this year. Man I sure hope so !

Thanks man. I never put those two together. Never knew thats where the "drink the Kul-aid" saying came from. I probably should know this but honestly I didnt. Again...many thanks. jb

LOL !! Video gave me a good chuckle. And.....yes..."negatron" ......thats the word ! I knew it didn't sound right when I typed it. Many thanks for that correction !!!! jb

Sounds like the conversations I have with my son, who's let himself be ruined by the performance of the last decade plus. His 1st game he remembers was the music city miracle. That play has turned him into a nega-ton. (new word). Totally with ya, Owen. Call it Kul-aid, call it what ya will I really dont care but I'm as upbeat as I've been in quite a while with the developments of the last 4 months. We may surprise the league as soon as this year. This years team...win or lose is gonna be a blast to watch. I cant damn wait ! jb

Rd 1, Pick #16: QB EJ Manuel - Florida St.

Awe crap ! I'm having a bad day. LOL !! -
I "think" the wildcat will end up being a short lived little used fad going forward. Personally I was never much of a fan of that play. Its 3rd and 1...Brad Smith lines up at QB. The whole world knows what the play is gonna be. Result: 1 yard and a cloud of dust. It has been used with some success admittedly. It doesn't make for very interesting watching...from a fans' perspective. In my opinion, of course.
-
Well, you did say earlier "He is better then most QBs!" Which kind of implies you think he's better than most QB's. Not that Its any big deal to me ...or anything like that. Might have been a good idea to say the TE ..wildcat stuff early on.

Rd 1, Pick #16: QB EJ Manuel - Florida St.

I'm hearing a lot of fans and analysts saying Buffalo should make EJ the day 1 starter. Is it not premature to make a statement like that? The kid needs to go thru training camp, learn the system, get reps. Same with Kolb and TJ It seems obvious to me that you just cant say throw him into the fire when he hasn't even been assigned his locker yet. Let the process play out. After week 4 of the preseason is when that assessment / opinion can be made. Some of these radio guys are killing me today. Needed to vent a little !! -
True. They waited in hopes of getting "something" for him. Like, maybe a rd #7 pick. Thats why they waited. Tebow will probably end up somewhere. They were saying on the network that the Patriots were a team that has shown some interest. I reckon Belle-cheat could design a gadget or two with him on the roster. jb

Rd 2, Pick #46: LB Kiko Alonso - Oregon

Not sure what he was in trouble for. If I'm a betting man, I say it wasn't for splitting atoms in his spare time. He looks like helluva player though. Lets hope he's a good one for us. -
Boloney ! We're looking to you to fill Aaron Corps' roster spot. Buddy: Git r done !! LOL ! jb

Agree. Similarly interesting was his comments regarding the two safeties selected. He commented on differences of their skill sets, and how they both fit in schematically. He also said it had nothing to do with Byrd, and they would have done the same thing even if Byrd was in min- camp.
-
Thanks. EDIT: That was interesting.
-
Its hard to say if EJ will be ready week one. He'll have to have a very strong training camp and a solid pre-season to be the starter right off the bat. I'd guess Kolb will start the season for Buffalo. Buffalo is going to have a very different roster this year. It'll take time for this bunch to gel...I think? The 2nd half of the season will be interesting. This is where I hope we begin seeing the fruits of our labor. The signs that we are on a good path. I am guessing our offense will be inconsistent....and I am guessing our defense will be much improved. Having Pettine as our DC bodes well for us since he has a lot of experience against the Patriots. That week one match-up against New England. A must watch game. We're getting thrown right into the fire week one. Looking forward to it ! NE wins division at 10-6 Miami / Buffalo duke it out for 2nd 9-7 or 8-8 I suppose Jets get basement duty at 6-10 My early thoughts / guess. jb
-
I really don't see where he'd fit in with us at this point in time. I agree with you though. I hope he gets a shot somewhere. He is a winner. No question about that whatsoever.
-
Sounds right. From what I understand he was due 8.2 mil from Miami had he remained on their roster. I'm guessing Buffalo would sign him for maybe...a two year 9 mil deal...maybe? Who knows, but it must have been less than Karlos is wanting to fetch. Good for Nix I suppose, not over-paying beyond the perceived value. jb
-
Very interesting. Thank you sir. You guys are all over this stuff. I really appreciate the info on my team you all provide. Many thanks! I havent felt this good about an off-season in quite a while. jb

Yup. And just to be clear, I changed the station as fast as Dan Marino used to get rid of the football ! LOL !

Rd 6, Pick #177: K Dustin Hopkins - FSU

What better way to get an impact player in a late round ? VERY savvy selection IMO. -

I say it was a silly pick. You dont need a field goal kicker when your offense puts it in the end zone every time they have the ball !! GO BILLS !! -
One of the guys on the radio yesterday (I forget which channel) was saying that Geno's pre-draft visits did not go well. There were issues with his answering questions on the defensive schemes and it was why he never went in the 1st as projected. I reckon he'll be OK and I wish him the best. No easy task playing QB in that NY zoo of a market. Maybe I'm being a homer here, but I find EJ a more likeable, mature man. And...I think he has the mental intangibles to have a good NFL career. Not to mention the almost freakish athleticism. Today on ESPN radio, a couple of national media types were guessing which QB would have the most success in the NFL. They immediately discounted EJ, saying the Bills suck and always will pretty much. That comment pissed me off, even though looking back 13 years its pretty true. They ignored the fact that a new sheriff(s) is in town. They concluded Matt Barkley will be the most successful this year because of the great team around him. We'll see. I'm tired of the lack of respect (and coverage) we get from the national media. Whatever the case, I'm proud to have EJ as our future franchise guy. He seems like a helluva classy kid. And...Bruce Smith's God son. Gotta love that factoid !! jb
