  1. I'm thinking Thad has roughly the same number of starts EJ has had ? I'm not sure how good Thad is, or EJ for that matter but neither have had a lot of NFL starts. Thad does seem a serviceable back-up. We need to see more of what he has to offer, and if he shows improvement if called upon. I'm hoping so.
  2. Agree....which is why I just dont see this happening.
  3. Whaleys background in Pittsburgh was more of a "build from the draft" arrangement. Get ascending players and dispose of descending players if I remember correctly. So I would think if there is any truth whatsoever to the rumor it'd be for Clowney since Mario is getting up there and is getting more expensive from a cap perspective. Given that I just dont see this happening given the cost of such a move. Its just too much baggage going forward in terms of giving up picks IMHO. For a franchise QB ?? I could see it. I don't think they are ready to abandon EJ just yet and they "probably" shouldn't be.
  4. I like it, but the new league, if successful would eventually turn to crap over time like the NFL has. Other than Buffalo, I cant even watch football any more. Commercials and stoppages are beyond my pain threshold. But...I've enjoyed watching football for many years, back to the mid 60's.
  5. Just heard it on WHAM. RIP Ralph. And thanks for everything.
  6. It will. If memory serves they spent 141 mil in free agency last year and their record went from 7-9 to 8-8. Hardly worth it.
  7. At least our opponent the Giants aren't coming off of a bye week ! Or...are they ?
  8. The NFL is under attack from every angle imaginable. Probably more than any time in its history.
  9. Two weeks of hype for this? Horrible football game.
  10. Its not always the success, or lack thereof of any given hire but more how the individual knows, fits in and runs the given scheme that the team plans to use.
  11. Dont blame her for carrying a rifle. My God she is just stunning.
  12. Not sure if anyone here is old enough to remember Don Shula, Vince Lombardi, Bill Parsells, Tom Landry or even Bill Walsh for that matter. Each of these guys were pretty darn good too. What separates Bellichich IMO is the length of time he's been on top.....not to mention during the era of free agency. Certainly an amazing career. Nothing but respect for BB.
  13. Couldn't have said it better. As much as I hate seeing Brady pick us apart year after year......I will miss him when he's gone. There may never be another like him so I just enjoy the show, watching the position be played to near perfection. I like both of these guys and despite the hate on this board for Brady (which I totally get) he sounds pretty classy in the interviews I've seen. When we play the Patriots....well...just see my avatar ! LOL !
  14. Chad Henne, Jacksonville Jaguars. EJ needs the calming effect of a veteran QB.
  15. People are voting with their wallets. NFL is in for a wake-up call. People dont go to games like they used to. The NFL is under attack from players, lawyers, referees and now the fans. No way in hell am I gonna blow a whole day, 300 bucks, traffic jams and a rip-off parking fee from a local to go to a game. The product simply isnt worth it anymore. In any city.
  16. I'd have to say Andy Reid is in the Coach of the Year conversation. 4 injuries. (2 pro-bowlers). You cant say that had no effect. Would they have won without the injuries ? Who knows? To beat up on Andy is silly after a successful season like they had. If Buffalo did as well as KC, or does that well next year I'll be ecstatic.
  17. A lot of people (including scouts) thought that of Russel Wilson. I think under the right coordinator...making him a pass first, run if all else fails QB that he'll be OK. He is incredibly competitive. Very animated on the sidelines. Things that go into the stat book. I think he's a kid that can make everyone around him better. He can throw out of the pocket too and I'm not buying the weak arm argument I've seen here and there. I wouldn't prioritize the QB position in the 2014 draft, but if this kid is still there at #9 you almost have to take him IMO. I havent seen a kid (that appears to be) this special in quite some time. I doubt he'll be there at #9.
  18. I will also take back everything I said. Good grief. Not an NFL QB ? Well, we'll see about that wont we ? !! Great thread. Happy New Year everybody.
  19. Damn right Bro !! Our plan was to lay low. Found out at last minute wife made plans and I mean...last minute. I said...have a ball I aint going nowhere. So yes....Loser football fan at home" and luvin it ! Enjoy the game, man.
  20. The kid plays with a fire. He reminds me of Phillip Rivers....in a good way. He'll be a lot of fun to watch. I dont think he'll be a Bill though. Enjoying this game so far. Best bowl game so far...IMO.
  21. Another one that they missed was the play-clock fiasco in the Dallas-Philly game. Dallas got called for delay of game on critical drive late in the 4th. Didnt seem right since they hurried to the line after a short huddle. The network then showed the play clock. It went from 40 seconds to 25 seconds in one tick. No one caught it. I dont think it changed the outcome but it certainly could have.
  22. Vincent Lamar Wilfork of the New England Patriots. If he is able to rehab that knee I would like to see Buffalo make a play on him as our next QB. Vincent can throw the ball nearly 70 yards. (true statement) He is a big boy and he can run, no one is gonna take him down on 3rd and 2. He is so big he can block for himself. I think it would be an upgrade at the QB position. For the Bills. We would be a league trend-setter. Other teams would copy.
  23. It'd be interesting to see TJ's production if he were a Patriot.
  24. Start a poll on who you would replace these guys with, and how they would make our team better. I didnt bother voting since they are all mostly starters and some of the best players we have.
  25. If we were "really close" to being an elite playoff team I could maybe see bringing him in as a backup QB? We aren't though. Likely by the time we are Michael will be ready to hang up the cleats. So I agree with this. We need to figure out how to stop the run, and keep our QB from running for his life first and foremost. IMHO of course. ps...on the radio call last week ...Kelso was of the opinion that Buffalo should try to get Free agent Chad Henne. Citing that the experience of Henne would provide a calming effect for EJ. FWIW.....
