Jim Kelly Update Thread: Biopsies Negative, Cancer Free!
jaybee replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
EDIT: Sorry, I missed the previous post on this. Looks like Dan Marino paid a visit to Jim too. In the hospital. Very cool. http://sports.yahoo....-040925320.html -
should we be worried about the jets?
jaybee replied to billsgpr88's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is the NFL. The delta between the leagues best and leagues worst is marginal. You worry about every opponent in this league. Professional athletes, the best in the world. Damn straight I'm worried about the jets. -

Senators Urge N.F.L. to Act on Redskins’ Name
jaybee replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd be more offended by "Washington" than I would be "Redskins". They should change the name Washington and leave Redskins alone. -
Bills sign try-out 6'4" WR Caleb Holley

If I'm reading the article correctly, yes. If I'm wrong, or missing something, well, thats kind of normal for me !! -

Nothing here to add to that logic. Hey, whether you love em or hate em, we have to route for him. I have a gut feeling he's going to surprise us this year. I'm not right very often but I hope I am this time.

3rd and 4, Fasten your seat belts !!

Pandemonium. Fandemonium. Fantastic !! Man, he was the best.

One thing I will look for in EJ is his ability (and quickness) to make reads. In a few games last year, he would drop back, the #1 option was there and he'd put a nice throw in there. If the #1 option was covered he came a little confused it seemed and would eventually become under pressure. None of that surprising for a rookie QB. A fast game is the NFL. I also hope to see him throw the long ball with more accuracy this year. We'll see. Sure, my fingers are crossed on the kid but I'm not ready to throw in the towel on him just yet.

I think Cleveland, along with Buffalo is another one of those teams the media loves to hate. Yesterday on ESPN they did a "power rankings after the draft" piece. (Silly on many levels...I know) Buffalo was ranked 30, Cleveland was ranked 32 ! Are you kidding me ? Surprised these fellas routing for the Browns are upset with the Manziel pick. I'm thinking they stole the kid at #22. I know I'm in the minority but I'll watch Cleve every chance I get when this kid becomes the starter. And...probably become a Cleve fan if our team moves out of here...God forbid !

No time to read the whole thread, maybe its already been said. I dont see this kid listed as a free agent signing by the Bills on the web site. Must be they changed their minds or maybe the report was inaccurate ? Too bad. He'd have been fun to watch at TC. EDIT: I do see via google he is an undrafted Buffalo free agent. The bills web site doesnt reflect it. Maybe they just never updated it. Who knows, but I look forward to seeing this kid work out for sure. Thanks.

I dont buy into the injury prone camp....for any player in the NFL. Human beings are fragile critters. They are all injury prone. If a 300 pounder goes for the knees at full speed a man is going to get hurt. True, some players avoid contact to avoid injury. Smart football because the extra yard you are fighting for isnt worth the risk of injury. I think EJ is a smart enough fella to realize this and he should be OK.......From an injury perspective. I worry about his accuracy on long throws and the time it takes him to go thru his progression if #1 is covered. If he improves in these two areas and by God I hope he does, he'll be a pretty good one. If not, the FO is going to have to make yet another "bold" move. Hope its not necessary If EJ comes out of the chute hot, our window is about to open. We may well have a core of players in place for a long awaited playoff run. A 2 to 4 year window of opportunity. Maybe longer. Make no mistake about it, this team is becoming stacked.

You're probably right on the DB's. LB's? I think we are looking better there this year. Spikes was a nice addition to help our struggling run defense. LDE, right with you on that one. Moeacki. I'm very curious about this kid. He looked pretty good before getting injured. If he's healthy this year he may be a diamond in the rough.

Nice. Congrats to you and your daughter. Thats fantastic.

You've got to look a lot harder to find roster weaknesses than you did just a couple 3 years ago. Defensive backfield and TE still weak maybe ? QB position also a question mark. My post draft optimism is once again right up there. I honestly think if we can get consistent play out of the QB spot; that this team has the weapons on both sides of the football to maybe even win 10 games this year. Looking forward to seeing the team at Fisher again once training camp starts. GO BILLS !!

Bills Trade 5th Round Pick (#149) to Tampa Bay
jaybee replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We already had a 7th rd pick. We still have just one. What did we get for this trade? A 7th and a 5th next year ? A little confused on this one. Thanks. Edit: nevermind. I think I got it now. ESPN's board didnt reflect the 7th rounder when I looked earlier. -
A QB apparently named Savage or from a comic book
jaybee replied to Spillnation's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If he were there in the 5th? Maybe. But fellas, without an O-line it doesn't matter who we put back there he'll be running for his life. I know its not a "sexy" pick for most but man I hope we take at least one O lineman. It would make EJ and the running game better without doing anything else. With a solid O-line and good play at the QB position (yes a Mack truck sized if) this team may just have a shot at a wild card this year. -
Houston looking to trade 1st pick (Buffalo?)
jaybee replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It will be an offensive pick. It will address our deepest need. An offensive lineman. My peonic assessment. -
How to make the Pro Bowl more intriguing
jaybee replied to Buffalo Beeeews's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like it in theory but I think each team in the winning conference getting an additional 1st rounder is too much of a reward. It would have too big an impact on the draft. Good players would often go to good teams where bad teams have a greater need. Maybe an additional 6th rounder ? Or even a 7th rounder? -
Donald Trump asked to invest in the Bills
jaybee replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
People for years have been concerned Bills will leave Buffalo when Ralph passes. Ralph passes. RIP, Ralph Wilson A successful business man steps up, makes his interest in the Bills football franchise public. Says if he can obtain the franchise it is staying in Buffalo. Same fans concerned with team leaving do a 180 and dont want potential new owner who will keep team here involved. I guess I just dont get it. Donald Trump, love em or hate em may be the best thing. Careful what you wish for. No other groups / buyers have said team stays in Buffalo. To me Donald being in the ring is the best thing we've got going at this point. JMHO of course. -
Well, whether we like it or not EJ is our QB. Am I concerned? I am a little bit but I'm behind him 100% . There's just not enough material on him as an NFL QB to accurately say yay or nay at this point. He had "wow" moments. He had "WTF" moments. He does seem a helluva nice kid with a fantastic work ethic. How does that translate to success? It doesn't. But....he is easy to root for as our guy and I'm hopeful he gives us a lot to be proud of in the years ahead.

I just listened to the audio of that interview on the John Murphy show. http://www.buffalobi...fa-a21208f9737a Tony praised EJ saying "it was his show" and he'd organized everything nicely. I havent seen Moeacki's name come up a lot here at TBD but who knows? The kid is healthy again and he was pretty productive when healthy in his days at KC. Should be an interesting thing to watch.

Hell, I dont care if Vladimir Putin buys the team. If their intent is to keep it in Buffalo then I am all for whomever opens their wallet. I really dont see a problem with Trump either; unless he tries to run the football operations, like Jerry Jones in Dallas. That might not be a good thing.
