FanDuel and DraftKings Banned in NYS
17 Josh Allen replied to CountDorkula's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In poker your given random cards at the start of your hand. So the game is out of your control at the start of each game or hand or contest. Then you adjust based on the hand your dealt. This is a total random event. In Daily Fantasy sports everyone starts with a clean blank slate. You draft players to fit in a salary cap. Daily Fantasy sports does take skill to make your lineups and look for trends, injuries and match ups that you can take advantage of such as Kurt Cousins this last week. I used him against the Saints ( Great Match up at home against the worst pass defense.) and Cousins threw 4tds and was one of the top QB's on Fan Duel and Draft Kings if you put him on your roster for your games you probably did well. So if Fan Duel were to deal you a line-up like a quick pick and you were stuck with that line up that would be gambling. Now imagine having to play that quick pick line up against me who studied for 5 hours and made lineups that we're adjusted to take advantage of my selected players who have great match ups vs your quick pick of Geno Smith vs Seattles Def. Who do you think is likely to win. In season long fantasy sports, money is entered in a contest and paid out to fellow contestants. You play over a season long period. Your stuck with the players you drafted, But if your good you will cut and trade players and make free agent pick ups and get your team into the playoffs. Yes it's a strategy based game (season long) but playing Daily fantasy sports takes more effort then season long fantasy. If your playing NBA you better have your Twitter feeds for NBA beat writers and NBA reporters so you know who are the late scratches and who is in the starting line-up. Same thing in NHL daily fantasy you need to know line combinations and injuries and match up weakness and so on. Now a word about gambling in general. When you are playing fantasy sports skill games against other people around the world this is a game against other contestants, your not playing against Fan Duel or Draft Kings. If you place a bet on the bills over the pats with the bills getting 7 points at sports book in Las Vegas, who do you think gets to keep that money if you lose your bet. You guessed it the casino. In Daily fantasy sports fan duel and draft kings does not get any of the money on who wins a head to head contest or a 50/50 contest or a large tournament where a half million people put in $25.00 and the first place prize is 1 million. So Fan Duel and Draft Kings get money from entrance fees to each contest so they can run there web sites and computers and pay there employees. So I think the NYS attorney general is going to have a hard time winning in court if he thinks that it's ok for season long fantasy football to be legal but not daily fantasy football. Note money is still changing hands. In season long Fantasy Leages I am playing against other contestants just like in daily fantasy football on draft kings. In my season long league money is paid out from the other contestants entrance fees . CBS sportsline charges my work league $125.00 a year to run are season long league so we could log on a see are scores in real time. How is that different then draft kings taking 1 dollar so I can enter a contest, so then I can log onto there site to watch my players just like on CBS sportsline, again I wining money from other contestants in my daily fantasy contest just like I do in my season long fantasy football league contest. So it's the same thing money is won from each other not the company who is running the contests CBS sportsline charges are leagues and millions of other season long leagues $125.00 to run there leagues, fan duel charges 50 cents or a dollar to enter a contest for fees to run the league or contest just like CBS sportsline or Yahoo or ESPN who take in Millions of dollars in advertising to run these season long leagues. Don't get mad at draft kings and fan duel because the used the 2007 Internet Gambling act law that was passed by president Bush the made fantasy sports legal. The NYS AG can't have it both ways either all Fantasy Sports illegal or it's not. Then the real topper is the NYS AG says that Draft Kings and Fan Duel are running a illegal book making operation. So his solution is to make it so NY state residents can't play. But he said fan duel and draft kings can stay open for business and except bets from 43 other states. The computer servers that fan duel excepts bets on are located in NYC. So let me get this straight. if I was running a illegal book making operation out of my house and the NYS AG arrested me or shut me down in NYS do you think he would say it's ok to keep taking bets from ohio and New Jersey and Michigan. Of course not, this whole this is f#%ked up and stinks to high heaven. There is a reason the leagues NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL love fantasy sports it because it brings in viewers. I never cared to watch NBA much now I have NBA league pass and watch games I never thought I would watch like the Sac kings at Orlando I had players in that game. oh by the way I won $60.00 in my skill based fantasy NBA contests last night and I did not win my money from Draft kings I won it from other contestants from around the USA that entered. So to close many other states are passing bills and are going to regulate and tax it. I know NJ is and Flordia just passed a bill. So mean while back in NY the AG is trying score political points. There is already a bill in NY state that will be completed in January when the law makers come back. Mean while daily fantasy sports have been operating In NYS since 2009. So where was the NYS AG the last 6 years. maybe to busy taking political contributions from the casino and Indian gambling interest. Gov Chris Chrstie said it best we have all this other stuff going on in the world and we're taking about Fantasy Football. The NY AG could have waited until January for the Bill to pass to make it conform to NYS standards. But this guy thinks he is going to be Governor so he's grand standing. But as far as federal law fantasy sports was made legal with the passage of the Internet gambling act and law of 2007 that President George Bush signed into law that allows fantasy sports to be played over the Internet. -
I just saw this one of the football news wires. Kurt Cousins is due to become a free agent and his coach Gruden wants him signed. one Nfl source says Cousins could fetch as much as 17 to 20 million per year and a new multi year contract because of the lack of good starters in the NFL and how long it takes for a NFL Rookie QB to develope. So if that is the case then what is Tyrod Taylor worth. Because I feel Tyrod is a much better QB. Wow

all I have to say is wow this is like the smoking gun. Former Major League Baseball player and NY Met Lenny Dkystra Hired PI's To Track Umpires to get calls by using the info he got from the Private Investigators and used it to squeeze the umpires to his advantage. So he ends up leading the League in walks and on base percentage and gets huge contracts. He spent over a half Million dollars getting the dirt on these Umpires and using it to his advantage. Final TD hold against Hughes
17 Josh Allen replied to The Big Cat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm the biggest bills fan there is but I don't see a hold on this play. the offensive linemen has his hand pushed into Hughes left upper chest and is pushing him away from the QB. I don't think it's a hold but I'm sorry he did not grab him or pull his jersey the two met and he was stoping him from going forward with his strength and arm push -
I really like your idea of having 3 running QB so maybe Tyrod,Tebow and josh Johnson they could play balls to the wall be reckless have your QB running 20 plays a game like in the movie Money Ball it's about the statistics and analytics and plugging in the right players to Taylor your offense. you would draft offensive linemen who could play the style offensive. you would want real good blocking wideouts who could catch. actually woods is a good blocker. I like it now what GM is brave enough to run it and draft for it.

I streamed with Apple tv using the yahoo app using time warner road runner. The picture was true HD and great the whole game. I had about 4 one second stutters that's it. From all the posts I read around the Internet most people who used Apple TV to stream had great picture quality. so people streaming with a laptop, desktop Browser or PS3 or tablet had problems I read a lot of posts on the net with unhappy picture quality using those methods. FYI

l love that you brought Carson Palmer up many thought he was done hell the Raiders got rid of him but it took a real coach like Bruce Arians to get him back to being the QB he could be. The same thing could happen with RG3, Philly with Chip Kelly might be very Interesting. But I don't think the Skins will let him go there. I still say are offensive Q Greg Roman is just the type of coach that could turn him around.
-
Because he needs a fresh start just like Jim Plunkett who was the 1 pick in the entire 1971 NFL draft by the NE Patriots. After 4 years he was considered garbage and they got rid of him. Yes he eventually turned it around and then went on to win 2 Superbowls. Washington is toxic for him. I'm sure if given a fresh start he would be better for it. also I think Roman is the kind of coach that can get him back to what he was which was Rookie of the year.
-
maybe it's worth a shot to try RG3 and get him in here and try turn him around. He needs a fresh start, we need to let Tyrod play the rest of the games but these prototype QB's are not growing on trees. I would bring him in next year and let him compete for the Job. If I was the Bills I would also draft a QB. what say you
