Considering all of the holes we have in our starting line-up... and the fact that we just spent 5 out of the 6 tickets we had to fill them with on 2 players (one of whom likely won't play at all next season)... you just might be right about that. At least we didn't trade any of next year's picks... those might be some premium picks.
-
I was also impressed with Miller in his second season... I'm not sure what happened to him this year... he hardly played at all.
-
Will Hernandez seems to be the kind of guy who sets the mood and attitude for the whole line... just like Incognito at his best.
-
Feeling this too. I only wish that we'd been able to make yesterday's selections while still keeping 2 or 3 chances to pick more starters today.
-
Thanks for the feedback... I really hope that you're right about Groy. It's pretty hard to foresee any success for this team in 2018 if the line can't block... and keep the quarterback on his feet.

Does anyone on the board happen to know if the Bills front office considers any of their current O-line prospects to be sleepers (Groy, McDermott, Wesley)? Maybe Miller comes back into the starting line-up if they're going to be changing their blocking schemes again. Otherwise... don't they really have to be trying to pull another starter out of the 3rd round today. Personally, if they could get up near the top of round two and grab Hernandez, I wouldn't care if they didn't make any more picks this year.

Personally... I don't really understand his personnel decisions... Munn for Patrick I don't get.
-
I wonder if they can grab Orlando Brown if he slips into Day 3... I feel badly for that kid.

I had a dispenser with Yosemite Sam's head on it when I was a kid. I wonder what happened to it?

4-13: Ian Wharton Talks NFL Draft on WGR

Rodgers didn't play for 2 years... it's hard to say how much that factored into how he performed when his chance arrived. -
Had an argument with a friend about Thurman Thomas

Thurman Thomas was a winner. Period. Huge component of one of the best offenses ever. -
7 round mock Bills draft - best I have seen!

Absolutely correct... -
I'm also very unsure about the best thing to do here... with the odds of success being roughly 50/50 no matter how high you go... I think it's really difficult to commit more that one draft choice to getting a quarterback. I'm not overly concerned about which one it is... but just one is probably the smart thing to do. If that guy doesn't pan out... do the same thing every year until you find your guy.

What would you think if the Bills got. . .
Jamie Mueller replied to TigerJ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes... except Payne went to the Chargers at #17... -
Not real sure what this means... some punctuation might have helped.

What the hell does this have to do with anything?

Rumor: Trade up discussion with Giants
Jamie Mueller replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Still an opinion... history has taught us that Darnold (or any of them) could be good or bad... or just OK... no one really knows for sure. If you did, then making the trade would be easy. -
Dan Jeremiah - Bills covet Allen
Jamie Mueller replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Probably the best thing about getting McCarron under contract I think... hopefully it allows the Bills to select one of the top QB's in April's draft... and gives them valuable time to "coach them up". The kid shouldn't play until he is the best player at his position. This is my understanding of the prevailing view from Bills' management as well. Having to wait for a little while doesn't seem to have harmed Aaron Rodgers development at all. -
Dan Jeremiah - Bills covet Allen

Of course... I guess that we all would... although I would still be wondering what Beane and McDermott see that few others seem to. In my experience, quarterback is the sole position on the roster where guys with good tools and no toolbox seldom succeed (e.g. Bills last 2 #1's Manuel & Losman). -
Bills hosting Bengles FA C Bodine
Jamie Mueller replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
But seriously folks... The Sports Forecaster says the following about Russell Bodine. Assets: Uncommonly strong. Gets a nice push off the snap and is powerful enough to move most opponents around with his sheer upper body strength. Keeps his head on a swivel, keeps his feet moving, plays to the whistle, and is always looking for someone to block. Tough, feisty, and smart. Flaws: Struggles to adjust laterally in space when he doesn't get a lock on his opponent. Lacks ideal arm length for the O-line, and too often is forced to lunge and maul (leading to unnecessary penalties). Somewhat limited to a small blocking radius due to his issues with length and agility. -

For a minute there I was excited to think that we were going to sign Jethro Bodine. "You're all invited back again to this locality... to have a heaping helping of their hospitality... Hillbilly that is... set a spell... take your shoes off... y'all come back now, ya hear!" -
In that case... you wouldn't be able to make a trade. The Browns aren't being run by idiots any more.

Trade up to 1 or 2... which is where you have to be in order to insure getting one of Darnold or Rosen IMO... is going to cost you 3 or 4 of those names in the quote. Sure there are several good quarterback prospects coming out this year... but there also seems to be an unusually large number of teams willing to do almost anything to get one of the top 3 or 4. I might sit right where we are and take Jackson if I'm making the decision... you still get a quality QB prospect to develop behind McCarron... but retain the chance to plug multiple holes on the roster as well. I'm probably preferring this approach because I'd really rather have Jackson than Allen.
