Doubt the the plan is for McCarron to get his clock cleaned... but working with Allen on footwork and reading coverage for at least 1 whole year should be the plan.
Yes. One thing that they'll have to adjust to this season is no more quarterback keeping plays alive with his legs (even though Dennison seemed to discourage it pretty much).
You do realize that this would mean cutting at least 1 quarterback at the end of training camp. I'd say that, at the development stage this organization is now at, we don't wanna be cutting any draft choices before they've had a chance to play for a year or two.
I just snicker to myself any time somebody in media pretends to have as valid a take on a player as the scouts and front office dudes who are literally drowning in information... information that is not available in a draft preview magazine. Admit I was torn over Rosen vs. Allen on Thursday night... then I remembered that it was probably best to just have some faith in the guys running the team. I hope that Rosen does well... I don't like to hear a bunch of people questioning someone's character when they don't actually know that person. That's not right. Allen is one of us now... and I hope that he does really really well. Pretty tough for a 20 year old kid from a farm in Wyoming to deal with some of the crap that's flying around here right now. That's not right either.
Oooops... I didn't realize that Tampa threw in a 7th rounder as part of the Josh Allen swap last night.
Correct... Jim Rome wasn't built in a day.
I seem to remember that the LB MIlano was taken in the 5th round last year... and he had basically become a starter by the end of the season. Maybe they can do that again...
You were right... I missed it.
Clearly, Beane and McDermott see something special in Josh Allen. They're paid well to make these decisions... and they made one. Let's go win some football games.
I was hoping that Allen wouldn't be our pick... and now I truly hope that he has a HOF career in Buffalo. I'm pulling for everyone in a Bills uniform.
Clearly there were two distinct points of view before the draft.. and my sense of it was that they were pretty evenly held overall. Anyway... now we know how it turned out. They didn't save their picks to fix multiple roster holes (sorry Mr Beane but you do have some)... they went after a potential franchise quarterback... and got one. Time to put all the arguing to bed now... onward and upward... hopefully.
It had better be McCarron. Either that, or the Bills leadership team isn't nearly as smart as I thought they were.
Reviewing he responses on this thread, I'm reminded why most QB prospects fail. They're usually forced to play too soon.
I sure hope that the Bills can find a way to get back into the second round tonight. Seems like it's full of potential starting wide outs, corners and offensive linemen.
