FWIW I don’t consider Hopkins a giant douche bag like Watt, but he is clearly interested in money only and despite the arguments from many here, he has displayed work ethic issues along with the litany of other reasons he won’t work. It’s definitely a tough break and I can’t really fault the Yankees for paying Judge. He is a legitimately good player. Yes he swings and misses too much but so does 95% of the league. The guy is a good OF, a good leader and obviously a producer. He is exceedingly rare as a homegrown Yankee and wasn’t really overhyped at the start. Their problem is they have so many bad decisions that all their good ones are rolled up into one player. They put lipstick on their pig with big $ free agents and splash trades but they NEED one piece of stability. They could not let him walk. You're a Mets fan right? Ugh. But at least they have a few prospects in the pipeline and have produced some well rounded players like McNeil in the last decade.

Watching the Yankees play my underperforming Cards has given me some thankfulness. We are down this year but it’s through some bad breaks some guys just not having good years. At least we still have a well run organization. The Yankees are literally playing this guy named Anthony Volpe who is CLEARLY not ready for. MLB. Just today he almost threw one away on an easy play where he lost a pop in the sun, then he stupidly sac bunted with one out in the 7th down two runs. He needs more time in the minors but the Yankees will ruin him because their fan base likes guys with Italian names. They are a joke.
