Discussing playing on Friday and letting the coach know you wouldn’t play is FAR different than what you typed which is that Cook was “asked to go in the game”. That makes it sound like McD said “Cook you’re in” and Cook said “Nah, go ahead Ray”. That is not what happened.

What report? McD said they discussed it Friday. He also said he wanted him to play but that he knew he wasn’t going to play. It’s not as if he was told to go in a huddle and said no.

I have to believe that Cashman was giving Boone a hint, but Boone has the lineup card. Caballero should be playing for that team 5 games a week but I think he has started one game. McMahon has solved their 3B defensive issues but created a lineup issue. Caballero doesn’t hit much but can energize things with his speed and is good defensively at multiple positions and…….bench. My best guess is that they find a way to sneak into the WC but they better hope that Texas keeps sputtering or someone on Seattle gets hurt. The Boston ship has sailed. I don’t think Cleveland is a major threat at this point but you never know.
