We all have biases. Yours shows with interpreting Gettleman's quote to mean they aren't drafting a QB. It doesn't. It just means he expects Eli to start for 2018 and probably 2019.

That post implies a team must absolutely agree with the crowd. What if the Bills believed in say Jackson AND Rudolph? It doesn't have to be one of them, I'm just using them as an example. What if they just as strongly believed that at least one of them will be there at 12? Should they still trade up to 2, lose all of those picks and take Rudolph there?

Probably four in top 5 whether the Bills trade up or not. Giants will go QB if they stay. They aren't trading down to 12 and trading down at all means they risk 50 years of fans b wording about whoever the Jets pick. Denver also very likely to pick QB. If they don't, I think they might trade. Could also see either way at 4 with Cle but they have so many picks that my guess is they stay put.

I agree magical convoluted stats are thrown around by all sides in many arguments. This is not contained to sports. The nobody ever argument isn't even the best. That doesn't make wishing a good strategy to pick a QB. People are constantly using selection round/place as an indicator for QB success. If that works, why not just trade up to 1 with 37 picks and select Leighton Vander Doodle to be our QB?

Do people love Josh Allen because Todd McShay told them they should? How about instead of bashing the article, someone comes up with one QB in the history of football that had stats as crappy as Allen's in college and became a good pro. Just one. More would be better but one is a start. That would refute the article and the method. But nope. Wishes and buts are now candy and nuts and Allen will bring us a wonderful Christmas because Santa Todd said. He will be even better if we give the Giants 3 first rounders, 2 seconds and two thirds for their #2. I think if we throw in Eichel so the Giants can get him over to the Rangers then Allen is HOF material.
