The Deep State War Heats Up
4merper4mer replied to Deranged Rhino's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
What do music and the Utah Jazz have in common? The post Malone era sucks for both. -
I agree with his premise that most people are actually good people. But it is naive to assume that people can't become bad, either by being taught directly or just being surrounded by it. They put themselves in a position where the numbers games was more likely to work against them, and it did. Being surrounded by naïveté and assuming everyone is kind, was something they learned, either directly or because they were surrounded by it. Bad combo. Reality is reality whether we want it to be or not.

Rob Ryan on Colin Cowherd today, a few interesting tidbits

Agreed but I can't fault him for those three. It seems clear that was Rex's dream trio. -
Andrew Luck excuse thread 2018
4merper4mer replied to 4merper4mer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's the spirit. He gets half a season to have excused suckiness and still be the greatest draft prospect of all time. And this after a full year of European treatments. -
The last line above. Invert the last word. What just happened to the broad who accused Weinstein? Oldest trick in the book.

He said "Love Me Do" was actually written by Ringo who had an obsession with poop. It's real name was "Love Me Doo". Gross but we all knew Ringo was weird. -

He "dominated" the worst division in the history of football. -
Andrew Luck excuse thread 2018

I don't know that I would call him bad. He was simply supposed to be the greatest player drafted in 50 years. He has not been anything approaching that but the narrative cannot be changed. Kim Jung QB must not be criticized. -
Andrew Luck excuse thread 2018

While we realize you have no use for Newton, Bridgewater, Mahomes, Jackson, Taylor, Watson, Wilson, and Winston because they aren't as good as Connor Cook, Blaine Gabbert or Blake Bortles, this thread is about excuses for Andrew Luck. Please feel free to start a thread about why you hate Cam. -
It seems to be a good time to start this with the Colts preseason game being featured on MNF. He was hurt last year and got European treatment which took a while so there was really only one 2017 excuse and no need for a thread. The 2016 thread was a doozy with everything but the Loch Ness monster being blamed. All arrows seem seem to be pointing up for 2018 but I'm sure there will be some reasons for the turnovers and 4th and 1 incompletions to wide open guys. I think the leading candidate is that the Titans, Jags, and Texans are all much stronger than the last time he saw them. Then again, Brisset swept the Texans.

Why is nobody discussing the offensive line?
4merper4mer replied to BigDingus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You have to be kidding. Most of those guys were gone BEFORE last year. Darby, Gilmore, Goodwin, Watkins, were not here in 2017. Glenn barely played. We were a well coached winning team with a plan. Your argument is reduced to Wood, Incognito and Shareece friggin Wright. So tell me, when we signed Wright last year were you doing cartwheels or whining? Where was the salary cap money with which we were supposed to sign Jerry Rice and Anthony Munoz? This team is headed in the right direction. Don't be too upset when that becomes obvious. I hated the Dammy trade. Look back if you must. Turns out I was wrong. -

Sammy wasn't on the team for one game last year. -
Who is giving him undo love? Someone said he has a million holes in his game. I'm aware of one.....and its a big one. What are the others?
-
Why all the hate for Nate? You are very consistent wit it. His arm isn't strong enough and that is a big hole. What are the others?

What was our record last year? What talented expensive players did we shed? -

I'll trust the coaches on which QB starts but losing Incognito and Wood, while not ideal, does not turn a playoff team into a rebuilding team. The Bills are going to be a good team this year. -

We made the playoffs last year. What is missing from 2017 that makes 2018 a rebuilding year? Please be specific and please don't say Preston Brown. -
Figuring out if Ben's brain is back to functioning "normally" has got to be quite the task for the doctors involved.

Dude. Seriously. You are literally changing the definition of the word play to make your Bama guy look good. He looked bad.....not good. Half a player....half a play.

Mass holes have been around since long before the Sox or Pats were winning.

John Brennan's Security Clearance
4merper4mer replied to 3rdnlng's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
0% of the population is above reproach. I cringe when I hear of someone's "unimpeachable integrity" right before they are appointed to some Wadhington investigation. They almost invariably prove to be whack-a-do's. Defending a colleague is often an emotional reaction. I'm not saying it is always wrong, just emotional. This admiral's reaction was.clearly emotional as he claimed Brennan's freedom of speech has been infringed. It clearly has not. The admiral might have a lot of credibility in a lot of areas, but not in this case. He screwed his own case. If he wanted to state why he thought it is important that Brennan keep his clearance and/or why nothing he had done should have jeopardized it, he should have written about that.
