  1. They were calling him”the future”. Maybe the next Jeter? Also see 2S Dominguez. He was so good he needed a whole planet. But he sucks. Just like Scooby Doo, Chin and Parmesan.
  2. Only slightly. He was Uber hyped. But he blows.
  3. Lin, Chin, whatever, that’s the whole point. In three years people will be saying “who was that Scooby Doo guy that everyone thought would be great?”. It’s a NY thing. Everything blown out of proportion. I’m old enough to remember when Anthony Volpe was the next Mickey Mantle. Or even the Giants had Tommy Parmesan at QB. It’s too bad about his injury though. Hate to see that.
  4. Asking for a friend.
  5. Chin, Lin, meh. See. I told you nobody remembered.
  6. A few years ago the Knicks had a guy named Jeremy Chin who had a hot streak and got 15 minutes of fame. They even had a slogan “Chinsanity”. Nobody even remembers him now. Skattebo is the latest in this lineage. If he weren’t playing for a NY team he’d be a big nothing. Enjoy it while it lasts kid.
  7. I hope the Blue Jays win. Prop bet: foul ball line drive into the dugout drills Dave Roberts in his stupid whiny face.
  8. The Guardians have two guys, including their closer, on indefinite suspension over gambling inquiries. Accepting that Ohtani’s interpreter was the sole guilty party without any serious look is a real turnip truck moment.
  9. Ohtani? I hope Davey Roberts gets in the FBI’s way and gets punched in the face a few times.
  10. I remembered the sequence incorrectly. My predictions were after the Celtics win in 08. I said: Lakers to beat non Celtics team after an “injury” to a Celtics player. This turned out correct and the Garnet late season injury also happened. Lakers beat Magic. Then Lakers/Celtics to go 7. I did not pick the winner but leaned Lakers. Correct. I said that the following year an unusual team would win and the year after that LeBron would win, whichever team he was on. Also turned out to be true. I made all of the above predictions in the 08/09 season. There is an old thread somewhere in the archives here to prove it. When the 10/11 playoffs rolled around I predicted the Mavericks would be the unusual team. That got a lot of laughs but turned out to be correct. I was not certain it would be the Mavericks but Mark Cuban being on Shark Tank was a big clue.
  11. If you look far enough back on this board you will find a thread in which I predicted the next three NBA Champions accurately. In it, I predicted the Mavericks who were not a high seed, the Celtics, and then a 7 game final between the Celtics and Lakers. I gave a slight edge to the Lakers in 7 but was adamant it would be Celtics/Lakers and would 100% go 7. It did and the Lakers won. I had no insider knowledge but the narrative was extremely obvious. The NBA has been fixed for a long time. It’s still fixed. I haven’t watched for quite a while so I have no feel for the current narrative but it is obviously an orchestrated product.
  12. I haven’t watched too much this year but I watched a fair amount of the Florida win and Montreal loss. My two takeaways were: It’s early, we’ll see and How was Power ever a number 1 overall? He blows.
  13. Por la cultura seems patronizing and racist to me. Not everyone is poor.
  14. From your lips to God’s ears. Please make Davey Roberts cry. Oh, who am I kidding? That douche cries win or lose. Go Jays. Great game tonight . Wow that crowd when Springer hit that bomb!
  15. Or we could just ask AI if we notice a difference.
  16. Whoever wins will be my favorite team deformity the next 10 days or so.
  17. All hands on deck. Any game 7 is a different animal. If I have to guess…..Seattle has the best pitching in MLB IMO but they’ve looked a little tired to me lately. Bieber looked pretty good earlier in the series and is still ramping up. I lean Toronto here.
  18. I thought the Pats had an easy schedule but geez the Colts get to play the Savannah Bananas.
  19. Not sure about Glenn but every week McDaniel gets to coach is a surprise to me.
  20. Is it a board rule that we must have an irrational fear of the Bengals?
  21. It’s almost as if the Dodgers bought the title over the winter then trolled the league all year long by giving Snell the year off until the playoffs rolled around. Nice respect for the game. Eff them.
  22. You know who would be worth millions to this team? Ko Simpson
  23. To me if we’re trying to be realistic…..meaning not calling for AJ Brown or Tee Higgins etc……the field narrows quickly and I’ve seen articles today stating the Steelers and of all teams the Giants are trying to pick up a WR. I’m sure I’m missing something but the three standouts to me are Shaheed, Iosivas, and Tre Tucker. Meyers…..good player but does he fit? Jeudy…..bum Ridley…..I think he dated my grandma Legette….Keonesque a million guys…..unattainable To me the only realistic trade partners are Saints, Raiders, Browns, Titans, Bengals, maybe Bears. Giants and possibly Panthers could be but have nothing worth seeking. I think Tucker is on top for me with Shaheed a close second and Iosivas a sleeper but a distant third. He’s a crappy player with an attitude problem.
  24. Try that hip drop tackle on a Chiefs criminal WR and you get 3 weeks off.
