  1. I'll make this into a quiz for myself and swear off Google. The other 4: Browns to Balt Colts to Indy Cards to zona Not counting Jets/Giants to Jersey but that was a big deal Your Pats almost moved to Hartford Got it. Oilers.
  2. Well I guess that qualifies as another bad free agent signing.
  3. Haven't seen them all yet but the video game one was meh at best. I did like the one with the hostage.
  4. I've heard these use the mysterious "element 2" which means the charlatan UFO guy was off by 113.
  5. It is very interesting for sure but it has nothing to do with aliens or UFOs which are the topic of this thread. On on second thought, I guess it's not far off as it is yet another example of the enormity of data collected from space which is natural in origin. That denominator keeps getting bigger......if bigger than infinity is a thing...but the numerator is still zero. Sorry about the tone of my post. Your article was intersting. As an FYI the topic of FRBs has been tackled on this board and I'm pretty sure in this thread. There have been a lot of related articles linked about this relatively newly discovered natural phenomenon.
  6. You and your compatriots have not ventured beyond sitcom math as reasoning. I guess I might not be winning as proving a negative is tough but you are most certainly losing. And now the Dr. Seuss method is kicking in.
  7. I hope you're right and certainly hope Epstein gets what he deserves. Cuomo has lots of minions though and I could see him being a player here and benefitting.
  8. But in real life it is someone who'd like to see both the Clintons and Trump get caught up in it.
  9. I wouldn't put it past the southern district of NY to focus on Epstein's relationship with Trump and ignore his other relationships.
  10. Well if there are tons of them and they are all smart wouldn't some of them want signals to get through? And if none of the signals get through why isn't the rest of the universe a projection made by these same aliens? Why is what we see actually real?
  11. You're one of those dudes who just turns weird when they lose an argument huh?
  12. Re-read my post. They couldn't block our view without catching up to their earlier signals. I then granted that I could conceive of this happening.
  13. What did I deny? And why would I know what a spaceship looks like?
  14. A civilization couldn't conceivably block our view unless it caught up to its own previous unblocked signals floating through space. This seems conceivable but not with anything we currently know. Granted they'd know more. But if the universe is teeming with life wouldn't some want to block signals, some not care and sone actively want to send signals? Still crickets. Actually not even crickets.
  15. Religion has zero to do with this. It is easy to believe both God and aliens are real, only one of them is real or that neither is real. You make a good point about the possibility of other dimensions but that isn't what I mean when discussing aliens,. I mean aliens from our known universe. It is far from self important to look at facts rather than hope or supposition. The fact is that we have been listening for signals for decades. We've detected information from billions of years ago, millions of years ago, thousands of years ago, hundreds of years ago and from present day. We've done so while looking in every direction. We have gathered an incredible amount of data and zero bytes of that data indicate anything alien in origin. The point isn't that we can ever know that something doesn't exist. We can't. But if the universe was teeming with life we would know by now even using our relatively crude technology. We would have known within minutes of detecting our first signals from space. That is math, not self importance. The more we listen and the less we hear, the more likely it is that we're alone. Every minute that goes by without detecting anything proves over and over again the extreme rarity of intelligent life out there. It is very clear that the existence of intelligent life in any given place is like hitting the lottery. And we hit it. This isn't like the Powerball though. Think of having to hit the right 100 numbers and the Powerball from a pool of a trillion numbers,. It appears to be something like that. Sorry. I only saw about 5 episodes of the show and one had Drake's equation in it. None of them had his mother.
  16. Sheldon is a proponent of Drake's equation which is why I call it sitcom math.
  17. Lol a cave man drew something. 11 seconds is an eternity and yet staring at the heavens via SETI and other boondoggles has yielded in 40 years. Next up : 40 years is nothing even though 11 seconds is eternity. That should be another mathematical hoot.
