  1. Not you. I simply don’t believe whoever you cited. All fans look at some things through rose colored glasses at times. If I were a Yankee fan I’d probably be agreeing with you. I’m neither a Yankee or Oriole fan. To my eyes, based on what I’ve seen in Holmes pitch data and given the fact that the Yankees have been targeting the O’s up and in all year, I think he was 1000000000% trying to hit him and wouldn’t even completely rule out head hunting which I find hard to stomach in 2024. That pitch squared him up dead on the noggin. Holmes didn’t even look phased…..just gave a matter of fact type reaction. Look at how batters react when they hit the pitcher in the head with a line drive. It’s instinctive because they didn’t know it was coming. Holmes? He didn’t seem phased in the least. Easily could have ended Kjerstad’s career and Holmes gives it a “meh”? If the O’s and Yanks keep playing like they played in the 9th yesterday, I’d like to be the first to congratulate the 2024 AL East Champion Boston Red Sox.
  2. I saw some clown that said it slipped because….rain. Slipped but still 97 mph…..gotcha. I’m glad Kjerstad gets to continue his career. The Yanks have hit O’s batters something like 10 times this year, mostly up and in. Can’t beat ‘em, try to hurt ‘em.
  3. LOL at not intentional. Heard a guy analyzing on MLB radio that looked at Holmes pitch selections over the last two years. Until Friday he had thrown that pitch up and in to a lefty exactly zero times. Zero. Then he drills a top prospect rookie in the head. Yeah that checks all the “ unintentional’ boxes. Right. Can I buy he meant to hit him in the shoulder/back/side? Maybe. He one trillion percent intentionally hit him. Reckless. A slight slip of the helmet and about an inch away and Kjerstad could legitimately have been killed.
  4. 100% intent. Holmes hadn’t thrown that particular pitch up and in to a leftie in two years. He drilled him right in the head. It’s one thing to have a little payback for a perceived issue earlier in the season. What happened last night was not that. It could have ended that kid’s career or worse. Boone then had the nerve to say “I hope he’s ok”.
  5. Mild surprise: Shorter
  6. Bring a lot of extra u’s. They put them in words for no reason.
  7. Yanks should target Rengifo at the deadline if his injury is not serious. He could really help them IMO.
  8. Soto’s approach rubbed off on them in the beginning of the year but they’ve adjusted well and seem back to their normal trash tendencies.
  9. He could play a geeeetar though
  10. Picking up Michael Thomas would instantly improve Chase Claypool’s status to “second most useless receiver picked up in 2024”. Silver linings.
  11. Also burn the Ken Caminiti jersey you got in the mail on your birthday. It’s from you know who. It has a tracking device. And no, it didn’t look good on you. It wasn’t your mirror that lied to you, it was your synapse.
  12. Not sure about that. There is a red head in San Diego that still has a contract out on you. DO NOT attend any Padres home games or go to Seaworld. Facial recognition is not your friend……in your case for several reasons.
  13. We don’t have a single left fielder listed. Doomed.
  14. Those were mistakes. This one would be legit.
  15. Youngest ever member of the no fly list?
  16. Yanks updated their website with fresh player photos. Luis Gil:
  17. Allen can’t do the underhand short flip crazy stuff Mahomes does. Mahomes, although he can be elusive, is not as good at cleverly or physically fighting off defenders and doesn’t throw nearly.as deep while off balance. I prefer Allen’s arsenal but it doesn’t mean Mahomes isn’t unique. On talent, both are in a very high echelon even when considered across generations. The difference lies in the preparedness of Mahomes vs. seat of the pants I’ll figure it out when I get there of Allen and the willingness to accept losing. Both are millennials but Mahomes has a more old school mentality while Allen prefers constant fun and if it brings wins then great. The “nothing is ever Allen’s fault” stuff is bunk. I agree 100000000% that he is the reason we have won as much as we have but that does not mean he has realized his full potential. He hasn’t.
  18. I’m hope I’m half wrong half right. Right about Allen’s talent level, effort while he is on the field and ability to improvise. Wrong about his lack of preparedness for periodic games like NYJ1, Jax, NYG, Den, NE1. Wrong about his sensitivity when pushed by type A’s like Diggs and Morse. Wrong about his acceptance of losing. I also hope I’m wrong about Von Miller but that’s unlikely. He’s cruising, burning money and focused on his next career as a GM.
  19. Picked in round 7 on his 7th birthday.
  20. Sounds like you’re optimistic about the amount of pessimism. Maybe I’ll check it out.
  21. What is he going to burn down this time? Maybe the new stadium?
  22. I thought Skinner was fortunate the one year with Eichel feeding him, actually pretty good all around in 22/23 and pretty bad in all his other years here. He doesn’t play D. To my eye the one year he tried was 22/23 and if he played like that all the time he’d be far more valuable. Funny videos though.
  23. Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas hole. Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas hole. Maaaaaaaaaaaaas hole.
  24. Injuries occur after the trade deadline. Available free agents at that point are sparse. And people gripe that “special teasers” are playing in big games late in the season.
