Receivers the Bills could go after?
4merper4mer replied to Desert Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
They went and got Diggs and this helped the team tremendously. In the end, some members of the team had soft feelings that got hurt so the elite #1 WR had to get kicked to the curb. It was time to grow up but evidently that wasn’t an option and coddling was the selected route. You don’t just ditch a top end talent and expect to replace it immediately. Management knows they will take their lumps this year. Fine. Maybe it will force some growing up. But that talent needs to be replaced somehow for 2025 and that isn’t automatic whether via draft or FA. -

Dude I have bad news for you. Twice. 1. The Oilers moved years ago. They’re the Titans now. 2. The Titans and Bills can’t both win, they’re in the same league. -
Bupkus still all we got?

Thanks. I thought some might focus on my not so fun outlook for 2024 and not see my optimism for 2025. -

Samuel was always destined to be injured and have a lost year/stolen contract. Turf toe is a perfect excuse for sucking all year. For 2024 the Bills will have to get very lucky. 2025 should focus on a top WR in the draft. If the Vikes stink we'll have pick say 38 plus our own which looks to be in the 12-15 range which should be enough to move up and get a top flight guy. They can’t be spending 30M on some loser like Aiyuk. It’ll be interesting to see which route we go with our new OC for 2025 and what style WR will be a good target. Then get a mid-tier FA for depth/experience. -
You’re right. They are SoTeary.

JA makes TB12’s and Manning’s top five QB list

It may be heart, mentality and/or Staley for Herbert so far. Personally although I get skewered on the regular, I think Josh lacks the mentality to bring his best every week. That is what has held him back more than Diggs, McD, Davis, and all the other rotating scapegoats have done. He needs to change his mentality, not be so sensitive and come to every game fully prepared. When he does, he will win. Until he does, he’ll watch Mahomes win. Whatever happens, the board will focus on Diggs being a big mean poopy head and McD’s shortcomings. FWIW I think J. Brady will be good for Josh because Josh DOES have heart and Brady’s ineptitude will force Josh to realize he needs to be ready for everything all the time and he can’t get by on heart alone. I think by mid-season we will finally see him look focused and concerned on the sidelines and he will be forced to assert his will behind the scenes. 2024 seems likely to be a choppy mess and a lost year. It has the potential to be THE turning point if Josh handles it right. -
And none of it is his fault at all. He’s just a poor little millennial victim.

Some people can’t get along with motivated workers and need buddies instead. It’s probably the sucking. -
Curtis Samuel Turf Toe, Other Injury Updates

I’m old enough to remember when I pointed out this guy would get injured and was repeatedly told he was very durable. He’s a graduate of the Von Miller school of salary theft. -
There is an “Isabella for the board” guy every year. He’s it this year. I like him more than Isabella but he is practice squad material.

It’s also because lazy organizations look for one type only……flamethrowers with swing and miss numbers. Jamie Moyer is a good example of a pitcher that can augment a team’s season in a very positive way without being an ace. He pitched until he was about 68. There aren’t any of those any more. Maybe 5 in the entire MLB. The rest are all stars, injured stars, or lottery tickets with no control. If one team decides to develop a couple Moyer types, they may end up with a Maddux. The kid Bloss from Houston looked like a guy who would fit that because he is super smart and conscious of changing speeds and locations, but they just had to try to get an extra 4 MPH out of him.

2024 New York Yankees..........on to the World Series for 41st time
4merper4mer replied to BADOLBILZ's topic in Off the Wall
His lack of attention on defense cost the Yankees a game. It’s rare you see a guy fit right in with the team’s personality so quickly. -
No but it goes backwards sometimes. We’re not totally out on Simeon Rice just yet.

Lol nerfing one of the NFLs top passing attacks and eliminating a future HOFer for half a season after getting run out of town in Charlotte not enough? -

Might it be because the Bills offensive design emphasizes the run, schemes up the run very well and Is rudderless on designed passes beyond WR screens? After Dorsey left the Bills offense absolutely had some good games, most notably the curb stomping of Dallas. Scoring is the point so that’s good but you can’t be one dimensional. The on script success was all run. The Dallas game was like when the Dolphins beat the Pats with the Wildcat. Unexpected and productive but temporary. “Diggs disappeared” is the required mantra on this board but it is a false narrative unless you include the rest of on script passing game along with Diggs. Pass game production came primarily from Josh improv which is fun, but bad policy. This year it will get worse because 1. Our receivers aren’t great, we lost Our best and 2. Sooner or later the opposition will adapt to our run game. Brady is one of these pumped up geniuses a la Nathaniel Hackett that has already flopped but somehow maintained his credentials. The silver lining could be Brady’s ineptitude may force Josh to be not only a “best buddy” type leader but also a leader who questions authority and demands change. To date, he has not shown that ability but the time is drawing near. -

I was in total agreement with that. Then Wilson came out and Fields came in. Now, if I’m the Steelers, I’m getting a lawyer to check the fine print on the Kenny Pickett trade paperwork and taking the Eagles to court. Yikes. -

Joe Brady has good run schemes but is absolutely clueless with any semblance of a pass attack. Blame Trubisky all you want but it’s Brady. -
