[Misleading Title] Facemask penalties
4merper4mer replied to Billl's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You’re right. They should probably reduce the penalty to 5 yards until there are at least 10 broken necks per season. At that point it might be revisited. -
Is this the Crosby, Sims, Nash and Young guy?

Travis Etienne out for the season

Well now it was. -
Vaccinated people can get the virus and pass it along. Correct? If that is true, it makes no sense to isolate Beasley and Davis for 5 days simply because they are unvaccinated……if that is in fact the case about them and is in fact the policy. What would be the rationale? If a vaccinated Diggs were with them would he be ok to attend practice? If so why? Either all of them and the staff member should be isolated or none of them should be. If the virus can be caught and/or passed along by anyone regardless of vaccination status, then what is the rationale of disparate treatment? Maybe there is one, but it has not been properly explained as far as I can see.

Marine said he was great with the pick therefore I don’t want him on the Bills. Pretty simple concept that usually works. -

You know who else doesn't want Eichel to have that surgery? Eichel. That is unless he doesn't want to play any more and is planning on retiring. There is no way on the planet that anyone in their right mind would opt for that surgery with plans on continuing an elite NHL career. It's a ploy plain and simple. If pouty Boston boy gets his desired team in a trade his plans will immediately change to more traditional remedies. If not, he will continue to "want" that surgery. The Sabres are certainly not the most well run organization in sports but he is doing them dirty in the worst way.....worse than O'Reilly did with his "lack of passion" crap * 1000......Eichel makes Aaron Rodgers look like a straight up loyal to the team type of guy. The deceit is palpable and disgusting. The strategy is more see through than 99% of windows and none of the hockey pundits have the chutzpah to call it out.

NFL: Justin Herbert is just ok with a few really bad games sprinkled in. Chargers are under .500 Justin Fields has a great 2nd half Jets sweep the fish Teddy Bridgewater has a solid year and Broncos contend for playoff spot Bills: Dawson Knox looks great but gets injured around week 5 RB by committee works fine Jaquan Johnson starts to emerge somehow International exchange program backfires as Obada and Wade get in Spencer Brown’s ear. He moves to the Sherwood Forest and joins an archery league.

Based on what? Ad hoc reports and snippets? Now we are supposed to panic? That’s a joke.
-
I don’t see how he can possibly recover from being locked down on one play in one practice. Looks like he was a one year wonder.
-
Couldn’t agree more and at this point I think Eichel can be summed up in two words: Mass. Hole. This unmitigated garbage in this weekends stunt press release is just incredible. Not only do I think if I were the Sabres that I’d call him on his BS, but I think if I were another team…..and an honest broker…..that I’d opt out of trading for him anyway. There is no way on Earth that his desire for that surgery is real. It is 100% a ploy and every GM in the league knows it. No other top athlete has had this surgery…..I think there is one low level tennis player….right? We are supposed to believe he is going to get the surgery and be ready in 2 months for NHL training camp then take hits as a center all year? He is basically using BS to circumvent his contract. If he goes to a team he wants he will magically decide to have a more traditional rehab/surgery, if he goes to an undesirable team….to him….or stays with the Sabres, he will demand the quackery. What a pile of garbage this ploy is and what an ass he has exposed himself as being.

Skinner - $4 Billion
-
I like Okposo and he ran into some bad luck but his contract’s term was far too long. Skinner is such a joke.
-
Letting Ullmark go was bad bad bad. Boston getting him was worse. And we’re still paying Skinner for another 97 years and Okposo for how many more?

In an ideal world Eichel would be willing to stay but he has basically become James Harden. There is a lot of water under the bridge and Eichel aspects of him wanting to play elsewhere are understandable IMO, but even the initial request is not 100% a good look for him by any means. Yes he was thrust into the captain's role at too young an age, but my guess is that he wanted it. Act like one then. He never really has. And now he is faking a desire for an unrealistic surgery so he can get out of town. If his demand for that surgery were actually real, his trade value would be even lower than it has become and might even have some teams not interested at all. The market is already too low for a player of his ability, age and contract status. My guess is that about 4 days after he is traded he either discloses rehab is going well or opts for a more traditional surgery. I'm NOT saying he is faking the injury.....he is faking a desired remedy. He's from Boston. Deceit runs through his veins. If I'm Adams I hold on for 101% of his current value and if I don't get it, I don't trade him. I tell other teams that his injury status and long term prognosis factor into the value calculation, but that his whack-a-doodle quackery fake surgery demands do not. If I don't get value, I don't trade him and I live with the inevitable consequences as the Boston in him will only escalate and he will probably cause trouble.
