  1. NFL: Justin Herbert is just ok with a few really bad games sprinkled in. Chargers are under .500 Justin Fields has a great 2nd half Jets sweep the fish Teddy Bridgewater has a solid year and Broncos contend for playoff spot Bills: Dawson Knox looks great but gets injured around week 5 RB by committee works fine Jaquan Johnson starts to emerge somehow International exchange program backfires as Obada and Wade get in Spencer Brown’s ear. He moves to the Sherwood Forest and joins an archery league.
  2. Based on what? Ad hoc reports and snippets? Now we are supposed to panic? That’s a joke.
  3. I don’t see how he can possibly recover from being locked down on one play in one practice. Looks like he was a one year wonder.
  4. Couldn’t agree more and at this point I think Eichel can be summed up in two words: Mass. Hole. This unmitigated garbage in this weekends stunt press release is just incredible. Not only do I think if I were the Sabres that I’d call him on his BS, but I think if I were another team…..and an honest broker…..that I’d opt out of trading for him anyway. There is no way on Earth that his desire for that surgery is real. It is 100% a ploy and every GM in the league knows it. No other top athlete has had this surgery…..I think there is one low level tennis player….right? We are supposed to believe he is going to get the surgery and be ready in 2 months for NHL training camp then take hits as a center all year? He is basically using BS to circumvent his contract. If he goes to a team he wants he will magically decide to have a more traditional rehab/surgery, if he goes to an undesirable team….to him….or stays with the Sabres, he will demand the quackery. What a pile of garbage this ploy is and what an ass he has exposed himself as being.
  5. In the trial of “Tim Murray was the worst GM in the history of professional team sports” I present exhibit Z.
  6. I like Okposo and he ran into some bad luck but his contract’s term was far too long. Skinner is such a joke.
  7. Letting Ullmark go was bad bad bad. Boston getting him was worse. And we’re still paying Skinner for another 97 years and Okposo for how many more?
  8. In an ideal world Eichel would be willing to stay but he has basically become James Harden. There is a lot of water under the bridge and Eichel aspects of him wanting to play elsewhere are understandable IMO, but even the initial request is not 100% a good look for him by any means. Yes he was thrust into the captain's role at too young an age, but my guess is that he wanted it. Act like one then. He never really has. And now he is faking a desire for an unrealistic surgery so he can get out of town. If his demand for that surgery were actually real, his trade value would be even lower than it has become and might even have some teams not interested at all. The market is already too low for a player of his ability, age and contract status. My guess is that about 4 days after he is traded he either discloses rehab is going well or opts for a more traditional surgery. I'm NOT saying he is faking the injury.....he is faking a desired remedy. He's from Boston. Deceit runs through his veins. If I'm Adams I hold on for 101% of his current value and if I don't get it, I don't trade him. I tell other teams that his injury status and long term prognosis factor into the value calculation, but that his whack-a-doodle quackery fake surgery demands do not. If I don't get value, I don't trade him and I live with the inevitable consequences as the Boston in him will only escalate and he will probably cause trouble.
  9. They get a goalie prospect and a first next year for Reinhart. I guess they finally gave up on Ukka Pooka Sambuca.
  10. My analysis in 2018 was not on the mark. It was something like this: Mayfield-cocky prick who will be an average QB. I wouldn’t draft him until the 20s. Not way off Darnold-Turnover machine that might improve. Maybe the best of a bad bunch. Off…at least so far Allen - A most likely losing lottery ticket who can’t throw. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay off Rosen - Entitled douche bag who will suck. I nailed that one Jackson - More of a passer than people think and less of a runner. Probably worth a late first. Backwards but ended up in the right spot. I didn’t want the Bills to draft any of them and considered that maybe trading for Cousins would have worked better. Oops.
  11. I’ll grant you that Tim Murray was the worst GM in the history of professional team sports and that the Sabres haven’t exactly executed well in trying to recover from that. But they are ungrateful pukes. Are they entitled to just walk into a room and be handed a Stanley cup and a villa on the beach in some glitzy locale or should they have to work? WTF has Reinhardt ever done to be in some sort of position to demand a trade to a specific geographical area? The Boston raised Eichel is really showing the classic Boston personality lately with the experimental surgical demands that will magically disappear if he is traded to a team desirable to him. That’s really C material right there. At least Risto tried hard. Good luck to him. I get that it isn’t all on them….I do. But mature individuals prefer to be part of a solution. Jack and Sam are not mature individuals.
  12. Looks like they got a first for Risto...I'll take that.
  13. Can't be as bad as a team that makes me think I just pulled into the Gulf station.
  14. Honestly thought Risto or Sam would be gone by now. Eichel I expect to take longer. If they don't make a trade tonight I think it means this front office may try to rival its predecessors in the ineptitude department.
  15. I disagree about Mittlestadt..and Thompson too….but understand your point. Mitts has top 6 potential on the Sabres I suppose but is 4th line at the absolute most on a real team. Agree on Risto; we need a good return.
  16. Were there rules on how the positions were protected or did teams just follow the same formula? Borgen was certainly more protectable than friggin Mittestadt.
  17. I wish I could find one that says they'll take Skinner. I did see one on Youtube that mulled the possibility of Okposo going which I found astonishing. I think it will be Borgen or Miller.
  18. From the article: "Unprovoked"? Spandex mafia apologists at it again.
  19. I don’t think this was the right thing to do under any circumstances but understand she was troubled. Perhaps she should have waited until she saw a spandex mafia parade before using this strategy.
