I'll be interested to see the contract details. Here is what Teppo made the last few years...
1999-00 2,250,000
2000-01 4,500,000
2001-02 4,750,000
2002-03 4,750,000
2003-04 4,500,000

Better than Campbell, Jillson or Fitzpatrick, so in that regard he bumped one of these guys back to the minors. Being in the Western Conference, I can't say I remember Teppo's style of play that much, but it sounds like he will be a nice upgrade as a #5 or #6 defenseman.
Now that Darcy's blood is flowing again, it's time to go get a d-man who can be a part of the top 4.
1-McKee
2-Kalinin
3-Tallinder
4-New player via trade or F/A
5-Teppo
6-Fitzpatrick
7 -Campbell, Janik, Patrick or Jillson

I must be mixing Dane Jackson up with somebody else. I thought Dane was more of a scorer than a fighter who shied away from physical contact expecially fighting.

I've already forgotten...Is it Time Warner or Comcast that is taking over the Adelphia market in WNY???

...The Coy Wire Experiment was a failed one. He is NOT the next Adam Archuleta - not even the next Adam Retatta. I have never, in 30+ years of watching football, seen a player who sucked so bad have such a loyal following who are completely blinded to his lack of ability on the field. I wish Coy luck in his future - just as long as he is not wearing a Bills jersey in it.
Bravo! What a masterpiece.
PS I would only add one thing. The ST demon Coy Wire did not even dress for the crucial game against Pittsburgh last year.

Was talking to a friend at work here in PA, right outside of where Coy grew up and went to high school, and he said that he talked to Coy last week and he mentioned that he and his father are doing some charity work now because Coy got cut...is this true, or is my friend just misinformed??
I personally like Coy Wire...I think he should be bulking up a little more and playing linebacker, cause he can't cover my grandma, but I like him as a run stuffer...
The only thing of note on Wire so far this year, is how far he can turn his head around as he looks over his shoulder watching the competition coming to take his job.

This is a typical boneheaded move by Clarke. Forsberg is injury prone and getting older. The trio of slow footed defencemen he just signed (Therion, Hatcher, and Rathje) is ill advised considering that the new NHL is bound to be hard on bad skating defencemen. Take my word for it, Ive seen Rathje up close going to a fair amount of Shark games. He is vulnerable to speedy forwards because his side to side movement is sloth like.
I agree about the big slow footed d-men. Clarke has been a bad GM for too many years to remember. Considering the budget that he has to work with, the Flyers have received very little return on their investment over the years.

A few years back while sitting on a plane that was at the gate waiting to taxi, all the oxygen masks dropped down. Needless to say, we sat on the plane for 2 more hours at the gate before they decided they couldn't fix it and everybody had to get off.
PS I'm not an engineer, but I'll take a wild guess....chances are when a plane is on fire and all F**KED UP, some of the auxiliary systems(oxygen masks) may not be in working order.

I've said it before and I'll stick by it...Schoop is a HUGE baseball fan and views all other sports as inferior. You only need to listen for a short period of time before it becomes loud and clear.
He needs to go to a town that has nothing but major league baseball, so he can talk about it 24x7x365.

Fitzpatrick is slightly below average in his own end, Campbell and Jillson are completely unacceptable. Therefore IMO, the Sabres have 3 defensemen who can take care of business in their own end. That's not going to cut it. Let's see what Darcy has up his sleeve.
-
I'm not panicking or name calling, but in this era of the "level playing field" it is somewhat bothersome that the Sabres are cutting guys loose their top forward and top defenseman, but have done nothing on the signing front. Not even any rumors!
I guess only time will tell.

it was listed at bb.com under the heading...."Quote to Note".

Is it possible that JP was mis-quoted? Maybe the actual quote was....
He invited me to the house for me to pick him up, so we went to the house for a little bit and there was his sister, with her tight little shorts, no shirt, with this little red hat, and she was doing some farming or something because she was covered in dirt. It was awesome, man." - J.P. Losman talking about his visit with Brett Favre.

You're f***ing alive after a plane crash and you want to complain that you had to climb up a muddy hill and in the process lost your shoes?

Since the 00-01 season. So that's 3 straight years without playoffs, not including the strike season.
The Bucky Gleason article provides a good justification for DR's quietness the past 2 days, but not if he plans to go into the season with a $23-$28 million payroll! There's a difference between being responsible with money allocation and being just downright cheap.
I haven't seen all the details on revenue sharing, but I read something last week that stated, if you are at 28.6 million or below you are on the receiving end of revenue sharing which will be coming from the top 10 revenue generating teams.
Anyone have more details on the revenue sharing part of the CBA??
-
This is one thing I don't get about the owners during the CBA talks...guaranteed salaries. That to me is one of the biggest problems with the NHL. I'm sure that there are a good chunk of players who become complacent knowing that they have 4 or 5 year guaranteed contracts. They should have followed the NFL model where the signing bonus is guaranteed, but not the base salary.

Scott Niedermayer to Anaheim, Edmonton or Pittsburgh
Satan to Chicago, LA, Montreal or Toronto
Peter Forsberg to Boston, Montreal, NY Rangers
Nikolai Khabibulin to Chicago
Jason Allison to Toronto
Paul Karyia to Edmonton, Montreal or LA
Chris Pronger to Florida
Bryan Berard to Boston, Columbus or LA
What's wrong with this picture? No mention of the Sabres after ANYBODY!!! At least if they signed some 4th line has been from the Chicago Blackhawks, we would know that Regier's heart is still beating.

Of the guys that signed today, who would we have wanted other than Aucoin?
Given all the bellyaching I've seen on TSW and other MBs today, you'd swear the Sabres had passed on signing Gretzky, Lemieux and Messier in their primes. A lot of nervous nellies running around all of a sudden.
That's the point...the Sabres should have been hot after Aucoin. As far as other players, how about Zhitnik or Foote?
Have you taken a look at the Sabres blueliners recently?
SABRES SIGN SOMEBODY I'VE HEARD OF!!

I was talking to a friend of mine who is a Leafs fan yesterday, and we were talking Sabres/Leafs. So he says to me who's your new defensemen and I tell him Teppo. He says to me....i bet thats comforting knowing that if you add an "a", drop a "p" and add a "t" to the end, it spells TEAPOT.
Never thought of it that way and it struck me funny but hope its just his name and not in his playing.
