The thread to end the QB competition
LabattBlue replied to generaLee83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You mean Coach Jauron doesn't read what's posted here? Next thing I know, you are going to tell me there is no Santa Claus. Seriously...If you are tired of QB related threads, start ones that deal with other positions. -

I can't wait to hear the explanation behind this. -
Buffalo casino project in jeopardy...
LabattBlue replied to LabattBlue's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Have you been in the area where they wanted to build the casino? What small businesses are down there? Except for the Perry projects and surface parking lots for the arena, there has been nothing there for 20 years or more. -
This city continues to be unable to get out of it's own way.... The casino project is in jeopardy, because the city won't sell some piece of s-h-i-t land that has been vacant forever to the Senecas. Why...because the Senecas won't promise that 1/2 of the employees will be city residents and 1/3 minorities or women. So instead, we get some half a$$ building with a 100 slot machines. F*** the city of Buffalo politicians. I'll never believe a single word that comes out of their mouths. http://www.buffalonews.com/editorial/20060803/1024673.asp

The NFL Network, Gettin' their game on
LabattBlue replied to BuffaloWings's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Since you quoted my post, I assume you are talking to me?? First of all, I don't live in the city of Buffalo, so I don't know what good it would do for me to call them. In addition, who's whining? All I said was that I had heard that the channel lineup may stay the same. -
What horseshit this is. Who cares about goddam hockey in July!

The NFL Network, Gettin' their game on

Has this been stated?I thought I heard some rumblings that the channel lineup would stay the same, at least intially. -
Why can't WGR get Whitner's mother on so that we know what the latest and greatest is! In addition to contract negotiations, she can tell us what he had for breakfast, what his favorite toy was as a boy and if he had a solid BM this morning. Stop talking about the stupid Sabres in July!
-
Maybe there was just not a better alternative in 03 and 04. Doesn't mean he was a solid starter.

Where are the major stories.. Crowell lining up in place of Posey during the FIRST PRACTICE OF TRAINING CAMP? WOW! Posey has been below average for 3 years now, why is it a surprise that he has been moved to 2nd string for ONE PRACTICE! I'm not even sure what the 2nd major story is that you are referring to? McCargo? He's not Reggie Bush. Most people have never seen McCargo play a snap(myself included). Other than mentioning that he signed during 20/20 sports, what discussion do you want to have about him that wasn't already covered when he was drafted. You don't like hockey...GOOD FOR YOU. News flash...A lot of WGR listeners do. PS It could be worse. They could be doing non-sports talk which happens way too often!

What are you expecting from the Bills DTs in 2006?
LabattBlue replied to Stl Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not sold on any of them until I know they passed the Krumrie test. Oops...I forgot this great coach is no longer here. How are we going to do without his ranting in a t-shirt on a cold December day. -
As I posted over in the Sabres Report... Add in Briere at 5 mil and you are up to 29+ mil. Yet to go...Max, Dumont, Connolly, Gaustad, Mair, Miller & Kalinin. That would be 22 players. I'm not sure how many have to count against the cap, but I will take a wild guess and say that in order to retain all these players, Tommy G's purse strings are going to have to open wide enough to pull out 40+ million.
-
I'm not sure if it 5 long disappointing years of the TD regime, not being in the playoffs for so long, the Sabres having a ton of success this past year or something else, but I don't ever remember feeling less excited about a training camp that is about to open. If I had to describe it in one word it would be...indifferent. Hopefully all it will take is one visit to training camp to get pumped up for the season.

I have the same model and the same problems. In addition, I had one unit fail completely which needed replacement and of course at that point lost everything I had recorded.

While searching for something else just now on TSW, I came across this post. Stuff like this will hold me over until you start up the American Idol reviews next year. Funny sh--! -
Gee what a surprise. They might as well be giving Darcy and Quinn a reacharound while they are at it.

OL Peters signs contract extension
LabattBlue replied to BigDaddy12's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm glad that he was signed to an extension and the fact that TD signed him up as a UDFA, but the phrase "extremely rare talent" should be reserved for players of Reggie Bush's caliber. -
My 2006 Buffalo Bills Training Camp Preview.
LabattBlue replied to 2003's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
WM had 325 carries in 2005 and he NEVER had the opportunity to be 1-on-1 with a LB or DB? I'm not going to try and tell you that I have memorized every one of his carries from 2005, but I have to believe he had many 1-on-1 opportunities in which he could have utilized the straight arm which was a force in 2004. -

I knew that it wouldn't be long before bad OL play was stated as the reason why WM did not use his straight arm in 2005. I think you need to look inside WM's head to find the answer instead. -
Most ANNOYING TBD term or catchphrase

Stupid nicknames for other NFL teams...Dolfelons, Dolfags, etc... It like being in a name calling contest sponsored by 3rd graders. -

LabattBlue replied to 2003's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ah yes...the great WM straight arm. The one we saw as an effective weapon in 2004, but that became non-existant in 2005. -
Substitution and offsides questions from a very casual fan... Why not allow "on the fly" substitutions instead of the limited substitution rule that currently exists? This would allow players to come on and off as much as they want. Also, why not have a fixed "offsides" line where a player in the offensive zone can't cross before the ball(much like the blue line in hockey) instead of this moving offsides line that is determined by the position of the defender?
