Some good points. If Pegula kicks in upwards of $500 mil for a stadium, how long does it take him to recoup the costs? My guess is that he would never see $500 mil in profits in his lifetime from owning the stadium. The value of a stadium doesn't increase like the franchise does. It's not like Cowboy stadium where revenue streams via suites are through the roof. That being said, I am positive he will contribute towards the costs, and like he said in the past, "if money becomes an issue, I'll just drill another well". Here's hoping for some sort of covered stadium(fixed or retractable roof) near the FNC by the time the lease runs out. BTW I think Pegula is the perfect new owner for some of the NFL owners with huge egos(Kraft, Jones, Snyder, etc...) who just can't get enough of the limelight. Pegula seems to be just the opposite, and therefore, not going to steal their media spotlight.

I continue to be skeptical that Pegula will use his $$$ to build a stadium that for all practical purposes will be a white elephant outside of 10-20 days a year. There is no way building and owning a stadium will be a money maker here in WNY.

There are probably 5-10 Bills on the current team, that were on the 2011 team that started 4-1 only to finish 6-10.

Why?

I think the doubt prior to the season, and even during this season is because of several things... - QB means everything, and Manuel is a work in progress that may go forward or may go back - The Bills best safety was let go in the offseason - The right side of the line(actually all line positions outside of Wood & Glenn) were question marks - The loss of Kiko - Replacing Stevie Johnson - Coaching staff - The TE position is still a mess That being said, there are several positives through training camp and the first two games... - Corey Graham appears to be a great pickup solidifying your top 4 CB's(Gilmore, McKelvin, Graham & Roby) - Watkins appears to be the real deal, and Mike Williams addition gives them a solid top 3 at WR - Brown, Bradham, Rivers and Spikes seem to be good additions in the LB rotation and help offset the loss of Kiko - Carpenter continues to be outstanding - Henderson coming out of nowhere to be the starting RT was a real surprise. We'll see how the season plays out, and not to put the cart before the horse, but 3 out of the last 4 are going to be tough games(@ Denver, Green Bay & @ New England)

I could see a coat of paint on the underside of the underdeck to spruce it up, but ribbons sound like a ridiculous idea. Hopefully this doesn't happen.

If a starter such as Woods or Spiller ever got hurt playing special teams, the pitchfork, tar and feathers would be out in force waiting for Crossman...and Marrone.

Do you really believe they need to be dissed in a power ranking by Joe Shmoe in order to get fired up? I really doubt it gets to that level.

There was a OG last year(I think it was Baltimore) who made some movement with his upper body right before the snap last year that was driving me crazy. He would do it over and over again and there was never a flag. Still don't understand how it was within the rules, but obviously it was.

It was fine for this game, but what happens when they are down 14 points in the 2nd half, or are in a shootout and all they can do is "consistently get the 3". Hopefully the red zone success will improve in coming weeks along with the running game which outside of Spillers's 47 yard run and Jackson's 11 yard run... averaged 1.77 YPC on 31 attempts. GO BILLS!

This has probably been mentioned over and over again, but as a columnist, if people are talking about him, he is doing his job. Some cannot grasp this concept.

A few things for those who don't follow the Sabres and Pegula's ownership of them... - I've always suspected(but have no proof) that the Bills are always near the bottom of the league when it came to coaching staff spending. That will change under Pegula. - The same goes for front office staff including scouts. The Sabres scouting staff has grown by leaps and bounds since Pegula took over. - If you've never heard him speak publicly, prepare yourself. Just because he is a billionaire doesn't make him a polished speaker. He is just the opposite. - Bottom line, the guy is not afraid to spend money even if it means the team loses money. He wants to win...multiple championships!

No one will ever have to worry about Pegula spending $$$. When it comes to coaching/front office staff, I don't expect anymore Marrone type hires while ignoring bigger established names.

Just took a ride by the stadium. The bathroom towers are still all black except for down low where there is some signage for "sections". The back of the scoreboard looks awesome though with the stadium name. Not sure if this was mentioned, but the boulders around the new store look really out of place? What is their purpose? If it was a security thing, why not just put some concrete bollards in place?

Here we go again. There are TWO major sports teams in Buffalo. One just started its season, and the other is about to start training camp. I know some don't care about hockey, but guess what, since they never talk about any other sports on WGR, that leaves at least 50% of the time for football/bills talk. The other 50% of the time when they are talking hockey can be spent on this site for those who don't care about the Sabres, and just need to debate the merits of EJ Manuel for the 1,000,000 time.
