  1. Build a stadium that is football friendly(not one that has a running track around it, and has end zone bleachers miles from the field), and that would be a good start towards getting more people there. Their biggest problem is getting the students to go. You have 30,000 students who at least some of can get in for free, yet the majority stay home. They could fill that half-ass stadium all by themselves.
  2. Pepsi Center would just be a temporary home. I just think that hockey would be a great fit.
  3. All right....I stand corrected on the basketball team which I was more critical than they deserve. But my comments on the AD, football, lacrosse and hockey, I'll stand behind. You have hockey rinks right across from North campus, and lacrosse can be played on the football field. In the meantime, it's football football football. If they want to rebuild the football program, start with that crap stadium. Ok...I feel better now.
  4. UB sports are a trainwreck. The football team has been a mess except for a couple seasons, and the basketball team except for the one or two year run w/Turner Battle have been equally mediocre. Embarrassing for a school their size. At the same time, despite being in a hockey and lacrosse playing hotbed, we have another AD that doesn't even want to consider adding these sports.
  5. I hate fuzzy math. TB puts Williams on the trade market in the offseason, and the best they can get for him is a 6th round pick. Fast forward 6 months. Same player hasn't done **** with his current team, wants out, and you think the Bills can get a 3rd rounder for him?
  6. It doesn't make any difference. Haven't you heard the officials are out to get us?
  7. Marrone should be fired ASAP if his explanation for Mario and Hughes being on the sidelines at the start of the clinching drive was "DL rotation". Your best players should be on the field when the game is on the line. Bozo Marrone will end up in history as another in a long line of poor hirings as head coach of the Bills.
  8. There are 22 players on the field every play making contact with each other for 5-10 seconds on every play, and multiple infractions could be called on every play. Not only can the officials not see every infraction, even if they could, it would be ridiculous to see penalty flags on every play. Questionable officiating in the NFL(the calls for full time officials etc...) have been around since I've been watching games(late 60's). It is revisionist history to make it seem like this is a new issue or that it is worst than in past years. The ability to review all scoring plays, and the coaches challenges have actually helped a lot in terms of making sure that game changing plays are called correctly, and don't impact the outcome of the game. The OL/DL & WR/DB contact will always be more difficult to call on the field at full speed. Of course for those of us at home watching on 50" TV's in HD and in slo-mo, it is easy to be critical. To me this hullabaloo over officiating is old news and a non-issue.
  9. OK. I understand. I am immature, but you want to sit here, suck your thumb, and cry about the refs. I'll move on, read the rest of the replies, and have a good laugh.
  10. ...not really, but I love delusional fans who can't just say their team lost because they SUCKED.
  11. Just curious, was that one of the officials in a Duke Williams jersey?
  12. Keep going. This stuff is great!
  13. I'm glad at least one other person agrees with me. This is what 15 years of SUCKING does to some fans.
  14. This thread is great
  15. Are you kidding. After every Bills game there are numerous references to the officiating...especially if the Bills lose.
  16. Yeah...that would be great. Make a mockery of the National Anthem.
  17. Its Pegulas job to write the check. Its Whaleys job to find the right guy.
  18. So opening the vault to bring in a big name coach versus the chumps we have seen hired for the last 15+ years , will not help increase their chances of success?
  19. For those who follow the Sabres, Pegula's PC yesterday came as no surprise in regards to his emotions and or his "average guy" persona as evidenced by his public speaking. There is not doubt that Pegula will spend and spend and spend(especially in terms of coaches and other off the field staff, which RW was never renowned for). The question is can his willingness to spend be turned into Super Bowl victories and/or Stanley Cup championships? There are plenty of owners throughout the Big 4 sports that cannot bridge that gap between spending and success. That being said, we'd all rather have an owner with deep pockets, ties to the communities and a desire to win, than one that does not. The chances of success will go up because of this.
  20. I can't see Pegs doing something like this(pregame talk)...ever. That being said, I can see him in the locker room AFTER a big win offer congrats, shaking hands, etc...
  21. You will never please everyone, these are the typical comments you will hear... Classic rock act...Those guys suck, they are 100 years old. Pop...That music is all fluff, no talent hacks. Country(look out it will be coming to a SB very soon and then many more after that)...Who likes country music! Alternative Rock...Who the f*** are they and what songs would I recognize. Rap...You call that music. R&B...Boring
  22. I'm not being negative. I just have seen the Pegula's not being "in the spotlight" type of people as Sabres owners. If they have an announcement/introduction/gala/whatever great. I am excited to have them as owners of the Bills as much as everyone else. I just wasn't expecting it. Nothing more, nothing less.
  23. I guess we will see. I'd be surprised, but it wouldn't be the first time i was wrong.
  24. I'm not sure what you are expecting, but I wouldn't look for anything substantial. 1 - What are you hoping for, 4 days after they take ownership? Also, Pegula never struck me as someone who has to be in the spotlight ala Jones & Snyder. 2 - The Sabres also open the season this week, which I am sure the Pegula's are also very excited about.
