  1. There is almost a natural poetry to the timing of all that. This driver's incompetence is absolutely flawless.
  2. Allen is quite athletic and quite mobile, and not just compared to other QBs. He is quick and shifty for his big size, and a fairly legitimate running threat, in a way that Peterman is not. Don't think we will see him on some gadget play, however. I just don't see that happening.
  3. Jerry is a great writer and is very well respected in the newspaper business around the country. Folks around here who suggest he is a terrible writer are clueless and/or simply mean they don't like his style or agree with his message.
  4. I don't like the concept of progressive lenses either. Seems like work, and I don't want to have to work to see. I think the best solution is to get 2 pairs, with different prescriptions for close and far away viewing. I did that recently, but the prescription makes it difficult to read at a comfortable distance. I basically need to push things away from me to get them into focus, and it's too far for many things. So I need to get that adjusted.
  5. What the hell is that supposed to be anyway? It's like a poorly done derivative copy of a Sunday Night Football promo.
  6. There is a heated Jerry Sullivan thread going right now in TSW section. There's a good podcast referenced there with an interview with Jerry. At the end of that podcast, the interviewer asks a series of questions, one of which is what is Jerry's favorite TV show. Jerry answers, "Right now? There are so many.......Better Call Saul." 7. You laughing at the content of that post, or the fact that the idiot doesn't know how to spell "etc." ????
  8. Yes, that's exactly what a certain type of Bills fan thinks! It's ridiculous but there you go. I really enjoyed the full podcast. It's worth a listen to anyone reading this thread. Didn't realize Sully would be doing 3 hours of talk radio 5 days a week. Sounds like competition for Schopp/Bulldog. I'll give them a listen and see how it goes for a while.
  9. America is the only country that overuses senseless technology while televising sports like this. God forbid they just turn on the camera and show the damned game.
  10. Had to do something and forgot about hitting the DVR. Thought I missed the start but the rain delay works out well for me in this case. Now let's get this going!
  11. People are freaks but I don't see this behavior as unique to modern society or any country. This could have happened anywhere at any point in time. At least that is my guess.
  12. I swear so much I'm totally desensitized to it and don't even realize I'm swearing. If I'm around people I know well, I swear all the time.
  13. The first movie was absolute trash. Why would you do a remake? For some reason, I have always remembered an interview I saw with Burt around the time (I guess) that "Dancing With Wolves" was popular. Burt was basically reminiscing back on his career, at a time when it was basically over, and regretting that he never did anything worthwhile with his stardom. He was the Hollywood #1 leading male actor for a while, and as he said himself, he gave the world "Cannonball Run" when Kevin Costner, in a similar situation years later, gave the world "Dances With Wolves", i.e., a legitimate exercise in artistic film production. Burt was basically reflecting back and saying "I had the power to do good things in the industry but instead made a bunch of crap, and I regret it." RIP. It's hard to think of a serious, good movie that he was ever associated with. "Deliverance" comes to mind first, followed by "Boogie Nights" at a much later point in his life/career.
  14. OK: we have seen several flash forward sequences now with Jimmy/Saul playing the role of Gene, the Cinnabon manager in Omaha, Nebraska. Presumably he is in the witness protection program and has been given a false identity and new life where no one will know him. It just sort of hit me: when Better Call Saul runs its course, I think we are going to get a 3rd series, about Gene in Omaha. He'll be surrounded by new people, new problems, and perhaps be slowly pulled back into his old hustling ways. At least I hope so! I just don't want the whole thing, starting with BB, to end. Any thoughts on that?
  15. It might be time for the Pro Football HOF to farm out the sculpting duties to someone else. Look at Ray Rice's Lewis' real head and face. Then look at the bust. The size, proportions, and key facial features are all wrong, which is why the bust looks nothing like him. The nose alone is from a different person. It's really quite poor sculpting.
  16. Blake Bortles is one hell of a bad QB, but he was still good enough to win his duel with Tyrod in a playoff game.
  17. C for Bills, D for Sabres. They have made quite a few mistakes, the greatest of which was maintaining status quo with both organizations once they took ownership. That decision set both franchises back a number of years. The LaFontaine/GMTM episode with the Sabres probably cost the organization close to 5 years....and those were the worst 5 years in franchise history. I have said since day 1 Pegula is the least knowledgable sports fan you know. He shows it all the time.
  18. Somehow, I think we will make it to next Monday, September 10th, with the world still in one piece.
