Bills Bar in Cologne, Germany
Fadingpain replied to Pete in Michigan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was just in Köln in July but didn't make note of any sports bars. Not sure where you are exactly, but go to one of these closest to you and ask them to put on the game. Good luck! https://www.yelp.com/search?cflt=sportsbars&find_loc=Cologne%2C+Nordrhein-Westfalen -

The Bills First Offensive Play on Sunday Will Be...

You guys need to come up with some fresh material! -
Josh Gordon to be released-now traded to PATS
Fadingpain replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sign him up! Why not? Cut any of our WRs to make room for him and see what happens. The change of scenery could be good for him! What risk would you have with this guy? You sign him assuming you'll get absolutely nothing out of him, and if you get a little bit more, you've done well. -
There was a time when Anthony Munoz completely dominated the game and really could not be beaten, even by some of the game's all time best pass rushers. He is as good a candidate as any, at least from the modern era. Joe Jacoby of "Hogs" fame was one hell of a good LT as well at a time when Washington probably had the best OL in football.

I was going to say the hit on Anthony Phillips which you showed. I just watched that clip about 10 times. I always said Jim Kelly broke his leg. It is more accurate to say Jim Kelly knocked him off stride and when Phillips planted his leg awkwardly on the field, it broke. The brunt of the hit was in Phillips' thigh area, and then Jimbo tried to wrap up the ankle and kind of missed. The break occurs as a result of a freak incident where Phillips just planted his foot awkwardly and the leg broke. Pretty gruesome to watch. He must have been screaming like crazy. I wonder if Jimbo heard that. I remember this play when it happened live, but not the aftermath of it at the time.

No ****? B/C the Bills aren't going to take a QB with their first pick next year means no one here should consider it or discuss it? Or analyze top QBs prospects around the country? Do you think they are reading our comments and making decisions based on what is said here anyway? I know it's fun for idiots like GoBills808 to poke fun at the idea of a top QB at the moment. That's b/c Allen hasn't started yet. That honeymoon ends tomorrow.
-
Don't disagree with you but b/c that is how they view it, doesn't mean it is correct. I'm not going to die on this mountain right now, b/c we have no idea what Allen is going to look like this year and beyond. But these guys will protect "their guy" (Allen) and their jobs long before they will acquire a second top QB prospect for the good of the team. That is for sure. I'm thinking about the team; they are thinking about their jobs and reputation. The sad part is we have a solid shot at a top 3 pick this year and that is the time to get a QB. If the current Allen/McBeane cycle runs its course and washes out in a few years we'll be right back to taking a QB anyway, only at a time when we aren't picking in the top 3.

Predict the Score: Week 2 - Chargers at Bills
Fadingpain replied to The Bills Blog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Couldn't agree with you more. I think you, I, and about 3 other fans here feel this way about Allen. Play him and let's find out as quickly as possible if he is going to be part of the future or not. Regarding the game: I think Allen will do some nice things, some bad things, some learning things. Chargers when easy in the area of 3 touchdowns; I think our offense will be lucky to get around 10 points... So 31-10 is my prediction. -
Tony Romo is your 4th best QB of all time? That's pretty....adventurous.

Tyrod is terrible. I was all for taking a shot with Peterman last year. Then he threw 5 picks in a half and demonstrated that he was overwhelmed playing QB in the NFL. What concerns me is that this coaching staff decided to trade 1 QB and start another based on meaningless, totally useless, pre-season game play. They are supposed to be the pros who are smarter than that. Allen is a RAW prospect who was never supposed to be ready to start this early this year. And now he is your starter and we have no backup to go to if he is equally in over his head. If he really struggles tomorrow and we get blown out, again, then where do you go? Back to Peterman?!

Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon Ducks. 6'6", 225 lbs, strong arm, good touch on ball as well, excellent ball location, can lead receivers and anticipate throws. Probably the top QB prospect for next year's draft.
-
Can you give me a few words discussing what the show is about and why it is good?
-
Kelly just misses your list? we all love him around here and he's by far the best QB this organization has ever seen, but he is nowhere close to being a top 5 all-time QB. Rodgers, Brady, Manning, Montana are solid choices, so is Marino actually. Marino did some things much better than anyone else. His release was so fast it was scary.

Are you some kind of anti-canadite? The McKenzie brothers will live gloriously forever in the Great White North.

Inspiration for Allen: Jim Kelly’s First Game
Fadingpain replied to Jukester's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Please. The USFL was a joke and nothing like the level of the NFL at that time. There were question marks surrounding the transition from one league to the other at the time. Kelly's transition was seamless and successful because he can play quarterback. Can Allen? We'll find out starting tomorrow. If he fails, it won't be because he was ruined. That's for damned sure. -
I am not a McD supporter and Beane's stock right now is pretty low. But I think it is fair to suggest that McDermott's name was on the short list of well-regarded "up and comers" around the league at the time he was interviewed here.
-
To follow up on KellytheDog's comments... McDermott's inept in-game decision making throughout last year signaled him as a pretender at the HC position. His consistent treatment of the offense has revealed him to be yet another coordinator masquerading as a head coach. When his cycle here has run its course, he'll be somewhere else, back as a defensive coordinator, never to be a HC again.

I would like to point out that your thread attacking clickbait thread titles... ...has a clickbait thread title.

Only Bills fans what? Only Bills fans would like to see their team finish a season better than the bottom 3 and not be a perpetual national joke? For the "R-E-L-A-X" type crowd....do you actually care if the Bills win or lose? Is this just a passing, casual interest of yours? We're headed straight for a bottom 3 finish this year. Do you care?
