  1. The people who do this for a living have horrible track records if you bother to look into it. They make huge mistakes every draft year, which is why it's a horrible idea to ever trade UP in a draft. Always trade down and increase the # of picks you get, b/c that's all you can control. How these players turn out is a crap shoot. I agree I don't have a definitive idea of how Allen is going to play out, but I can analyze the indicators, look at history with other QBs, watch his development to date, etc. Bills fans right now have totally forgotten that Allen was--and remains--a long shot project type player who is unlikely to succeed at the NFL level, as you seem to agree. I have seen nothing to suggest he will prove better than that. If we genuinely end up with a top 3 pick next year, I think it would be disastrous to NOT take another top QB prospect. If they both look really good (both QBs) we can trade one of them. If they don't, we can keep the good one. If both bust, at least we tried and we can select a 3rd QB in the following draft. I think there is virtually no chance the administration will actually do that, however, and that is because they are making decisions for their jobs, and not the good of the team.
  2. We bench his ass and play Peterman. OK, on second thought, he can continue to play like that.
  3. I don't disagree, but so many folks around here thought he was really impressive the day we acquired him. Funny thing is those who disagreed at the time and considered KB mediocre were dismissed as wrong and mere trolls. That happens a lot around here.
  4. How in the world would you know? It's rare to be able to see what's going on downfield in a televised game.
  5. For some reason that is not on the discussion menu around here. Everyone wants to talk about anything and everything other than the most important player on the field.
  6. I don't agree with that take. He grew up on Grand Island and chooses to live there now with his wife and 2 kids. I think he could have left the area to pursue his career but like many people and many WNYers, he chose to stay close to home. He is harsh with certain callers and does come across as arrogant. A lot of folks seem to be rubbed the wrong way by those personality traits. People who are bothered by that tend to be his harshest critics.
  7. Did you watch Hard Knocks this year? Most folks who watched the show did not find Todd Haley to be very impressive at all. At least I think that is fair to say.
  8. They definitely ease into the show at the very top with (allegedly) funny anecdotes from their personal lives, etc. That's clearly a stylistic choice being made by someone in charge of the show. I don't like it either. As I've said many times, Schopp does not simply attack anyone who disagrees with him. He tends to attack idiots who clearly are idiots. He is polite to callers who can articulate a logical argument, and don't refer to the HC or QB of the team by the wrong name, even if they are offering a contrarian viewpoint.
  9. Minnesota is not very good this year. Because some ignorant fans make the mistake of evaluating teams based on their records from the preceding year doesn't make them a Super Bowl contender. Rather than discuss factors outside of Allen's control like "play calling" as a cover for his performance, why not focus much more directly on aspects of his game that he has total control over? Like accuracy of his throws once he does choose to throw the ball.
  10. Continue to bottom out, secure #1 overall pick, and select a guy who can be our franchise QB. Allen isn't the answer. For now, I realize most will disagree with that and the point is certainly debatable. As time goes on, that will change. EDIT: liquidate Shady if we can get a draft pick for him. Trade any other veteran we can get draft picks for as well. Guys like shady will not be contributors here if and when we are good.
  11. Bulldog has such a huge stammering problem I find him hard to listen to. He also routinely forgets to breathe while speaking and runs out of air before he finishes a sentence. He also has the type of voice that causes him to perpetually have a frog in his throat. That's been flaring up lately. Other than that, his speaking skills are top notch.
  12. When you can't even spell his 5 letter name correctly, your position is weakened. You come across like one of the idiots he mistreats on the radio, at least according to you.
  13. He should have McDermott on the air tomorrow around 5pm. What did he say today? I understand why he would not want to burn bridges in his weekly spot with McD, but by the same token, I think he could be a little more confrontational than he is.
  14. Why don't you make a thread like this for Josh Allen. Aside from the macro excuse that "he is being ruined" this year by playing, we have heard: 1) The OL is terrible! He'll get killed! 2) Our WRs are terrible! Give him someone to throw to! Today we also got: 3) The referees are terrible and all the calls are going against us! and 4) The routes our receivers are running are terrible! We need new route trees!
  15. It's getting to the point where this board can't go more than 3 days without a new "I hate Schopp" thread! And OP, you misspelled his name.
  16. Why do you suggest that? Quarterbacks with those flaws rarely improve in those areas, nor do inaccurate QBs become accurate, which is another of his problems. Allen made several great plays with his legs last week. He has yet to impress with his arm.
  17. I'm on board with that but only if we take a QB with the first overall pick. I like the guy out in Eugene, Oregon.
  18. I would expect maybe as much as 50% of the entire team to be flipped by next season. That's for sure.
  19. Do words on a computer screen have a volume level in your mind? I hope not!
  20. It's worth remembering that the mountain of dead cap space was created by this administration through their own voluntary actions. It wasn't some inherent problem that was forced upon them.
