  1. You're correct about luck with the turnover ratio and key drive sustaining penalties. But it has nothing whatsoever to do with demoralization and inspiration of players. A lot of thing went our way, by chance, in the Minnesota game, and they are looking like a team that is not nearly as good as some thought they would be this year. That game is the aberration and it's easy to see why. The norm is the other 3 games in which we have looked like a bottom 3 team, if not the worst in the league.
  2. My post was not synonymous to simply stating "Allen sucks" as you present it. I meant very specifically that yes, Allen lost composure in the game yesterday. He was rattled. You'll also notice that I complimented Allen by suggesting he has shown poise previously, which he has. It was not on display in Green Bay, however.
  3. Rosen will be looking very good too. He was exceptional in his first real game. He's way, way ahead of Allen.
  4. This is TBD! I think you mean comparisons are "MUTE". If you think it is impossible to evaluate Allen, you're wrong. Receivers are open on most plays and he is not under duress every time he looks to throw the ball.
  5. So really what you are saying is ease up on Allen, but go hard on McBeane. Let's not forget that the shitstorm Allen plays in the middle of, and which you nicely outline, is the creation of a series of calculated missteps from the dynamic duo.
  6. Really? He lost all of the poise he has shown previously this year. He was terrible. The game was over his head. If we had a competent, calming influence at backup QB (we don't) I think we would have seen him for the 2nd half.
  7. Stuff like that really irks me. When you hear "football people" talking in those terms, you know they don't have a clue and are living in a world that vanished 25 years ago and more. the Minnesota game was similar to our unrepeatable win record from last year. It was totally the product of crazy luck with ball bounces Look at the number of times Minnesota and the Bills put the ball on the ground, and look at the number of times a Bill happened to fall on it! Look at the takeaway/giveaway ratios for each team! If that luck goes the other way, we may not have won that game.
  8. Surprise trades and surprise compensation for players in trades happens all the time. Maybe we could get something for Shady with the right team. No one in this thread is calling up GMs around the league and feeling out the situation. If Beane can get something of value for Shady, do it! Shady won't be back here next year anyway.
  9. Looks like ShadyBillsFan got it right. It was a 7 yard pass to McCoy.
  10. Rex Ryan fired his OC Greg Roman after only 2 games, just a couple of years ago, while coaching this team! You make it sound like it's unheard of. Yeah, what if we are tanking in order to get the No. 1 overall pick? And what if we draft a QB with that No.1 pick, knowing all along last year that Allen was just a long shot gamble and not expected to be "the guy" going forward?! I like it!
  11. Don't think the answer is Zay Jones. Schopp pointed out in the postgame show that we traded up in the second round to draft him. I think I had forgotten that.
  12. I'm listening to the postgame show right now. Schopp just reminded me that we traded *up* in the 2nd round to draft Zay Jones. Damn't!
  13. Yeah but it's not purely a talent level thing. At least I don't think that is what Captain Murica was getting at. It's our entire offensive philosophy, which is totally outdated. Just finished watching this game on the DVR; kind of a crap game overall. Better luck next week.
  14. LOL. I'll let you get back to sniffing your autographed Josh Allen jock strap.
  15. Quarterbacks can't be ruined, for the 1,000th time. This has now been brought up in about 6 different threads. Josh Allen will rise to the level of his own ability, and stop there. How high that is remains to be seen.
  16. I don't have a crystal ball, but I think Rosen demonstrates a skill set that Allen is never going to have. So for me, it's not a question of Rosen simply being further ahead at the moment. If Allen ends up being a great QB but it takes an extra year or 2 for him to get there, I'd be cool with that. But I don't see it happening for him. Let's hope I'm wrong on that.
  17. #4 is a quote from the movie "Scent of a Woman" starring Al Pacino.
  18. Regarding pulling Allen for Nate, you answered your own question. No, that's not an option. Regarding the rookie QBs, Josh Rosen who should be a Bill had a terrific game today for a guy so green; he made a bunch of good throws and was playing, in general, at a level beyond what Allen has shown so far. I did not like the Allen pick and wanted us to take Rosen at that spot, but that's not coloring my analysis. There is like a 7 minute video showing all of Rosen's throws today; watch it. It speaks for itself.
  19. Not if you do it the right way. We don't do lots of innovative things on offense.
  20. What about the comeback game against Carolina? You know, the one where everyone here said we were witnessing the start of the EJ Manuel era, our new franchise QB.
  21. He's asking if people feel we would have been better off so far this year playing AJ instead of Nate and Josh. Or worse off. Not that complicated a concept. I think our record would be the same with any of the 3 guys we had in camp.
  22. Watching that video made me sick; he could have and should have been a Bill.
  23. Patrick Roy's last game in Montreal was worse, but that is hockey and not football. Has it been determined who that was directed at? I don't think it as a grand gesture directed at the bench as a whole; seemed like it was directed at a specific individual, but I don't know.
  24. McDermott has made it very clear time and time again that he is a very traditional, cautious, conservative head coach.
