  1. I think technically it's still Week 1, as the MNF game has not yet been played.
  2. Whatever his name, does he know anything about football? Can we hire him?
  3. Nah! You guys have it wrong. This is the background music!
  4. Nah, it historically goes beyond that. In all sports there are a handful of garbage franchises, and a handful of great franchises that do a lot of the winning. Then a lot of mediocrity in the middle. What have the San Diego Padres ever done? The Cubs haven't won a World Series since 1908. On the other hand, the St. Louis Cardinals have played in the NLCS EIGHT TIMES since 2000. Unfortunately, aside from a golden, aberrational period during the Superbowl years, the Bills have been mediocre to horrible for the entirety of their NFL existence. Not counting the AFL days in the '60s obviously. This is just more of the typical around here.
  5. This is undeniable: we have now seen, on a fairly consistent basis, the team lining up and running plays at an almost relaxed pace, late in the game, when time is of the essence. Like the penalty problem, off-field shenanigans, and other issues impacting the team, it goes back to the coaching staff.
  6. I thought he had a quality, very serviceable game as well. Funny how the tarnish gets polished off when the player moves from Buffalo to Foxborough.
  7. John, if you, of all people, have had your spirit shattered... Well, we are doomed.
  8. Read it again. You read it the wrong way around.
  9. Technically, no on ever should be referred to as a "SR." It doesn't work that way. You don't distinguish the father by calling him senior; you distinguish the son by calling him junior.
  10. Sal Capaccio is on WGR right now and the foot injury is pretty much all he is talking about with callers. He's reporting it as "It looks like Sammy will sit for a few weeks" but he is noting this is not confirmed, and that there has been no official comment from the Bills yet.
  11. If you want some cheap entertainment, re-read the thread in which Sammy's foot injury was announced back before training camp. Note the smug comments from the zealot crowd as they assured the board no news here, back in plenty of time for camp, it's fun to over-react, and so on. Ah, the Bills zealots. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/186542-sammy-watkins-has-a-broken-foot;-ready-for-camp/page-5?hl=foot%20surgery
  12. He made a gorgeous throw in the FSU game for a TD. WR was well covered, Chad anticipated him coming open, threw ball well before that event occurred. The moment WR came open, ball hit him for a TD. That takes a certain talent you can't coach. Tyrod does NOT seem to have it. I liked that in Chad. On many other throws, he floated long balls and BADLY under threw his receivers. He seems very raw and inconsistent now, plus he's a known punk. And this team already has a punk problem.
  13. Yes, the same guy who is referenced in the article. He is the one who did the surgery.
  14. When will the last EJ thread be written? When he is on another team? Out of the league? When the last Bills fan to see him play live has died? How long?
  15. That's what's disconcerting. This team today doesn't look like a team that is capable of turning the corner. If we had turn the corner, we would have won a game like today's.
  16. Correlation does not imply causation. Tyrod was horrible today, but it doesn't necessarily relate to his "old team." More than likely it was simply a really top HC and his staff studying the film on Tyrod from last year and taking away what Tyrod can do and forcing him to do that which is tough for him to do...like read the middle of the field and throw with anticipation into tight windows.
  17. I thought Tyrod looked very mediocre today. His vision of the field was bad, he still dances with nervous feet before throwing, he locks onto 1 side of the field, he delays his throws until he sees an obvious open receiver and even then holds onto the ball too long until he is 150% sure it's a good idea to throw, and so on. Either this is an aberration and he'll bounce back or we are going to have trouble winning 7 games. We'll found out in the games ahead.
  18. I'll totally take 10-7 at halftime, given how this one started. Things are stabilizing.
