  1. Almost all of this is superfluous. What we need to see is Tyrod consistently doing the things good NFL QBs can do, most of which are mental. He needs to see the whole field, stay in the pocket, anticipate an open receiver even if in a small window, and accurately deliver the ball to him. If he is showing no signs of being able to consistently do that, this season won't amount to a lot.
  2. We are still in the "let's see what Darcy can do under my watch" phase of Pegula ownership here. We need a bit more time before Pegula realizes he's surrounded by losers, it gets blown up, and he brings in a trusted old hand to pick us a high quality outsider who can build the program up from nothing. Not sure who will play the LaFontaine role here, but hopefully this is the last year we have to endure the Old Guard. An 0-4 start will be a good start.
  3. In the wake of recent injuries, Bills implement hurdling training program.
  4. Funny, but with a few exceptions, everyone's choices for "best Bill of all time" come from basically the same team. No wonder they went to 4 straight Superbowls. We had immense talent back then in ridiculous quantities. I don't even think anyone has mentioned Biscuit yet! And he was a great player with huge speed who had a taste for blowing plays up in the backfield. Not exactly chump change.
  5. His comments in that article are strange. He contradicts himself somewhat and definitely contradicts some of the reported info about the foot. He also said he might get his foot checked out every week. The plot thickens. "I just felt like it was tired," Watkins said. "I just wanted to make sure. I knew I played at a high rate and played fast, so I wanted to make sure everything was fine. And I might do it after the next game and the next game. There's no particular reason why I did it, I just felt the need to do it. If I need to do it again, I'll probably do it every week." Adam Schefter of ESPN reported before the game that Watkins' wasn't 100 percent heading into Week 1. Watkins said that was inaccurate and that he had a great week of practice. At this point, he can't say for sure that he's 100-percent healthy, however. "All I can say is I feel great," Watkins said. "I don't know if I'm at 100 or 95, but I can compete at the highest level and make play. "I'm not in any pain. It's not about the pain, it's just being smart. I got it checked out and I'm fine. I just have to get ready and prepared for the game."
  6. Talley would be a great addition for the reasons mentioned. He'd be the ass-whooper in the locker room making sure all the BS that plagues this team ends. I was also thinking Hull as a solid anchor on the OL, and we could use that too right now. Another idea is Will Wolford. Park him at left tackle and forget that important spot for the next decade or so. That would help. But I can't believe no one mentioned Thurman. It's not the same RB league it used to be, but I consider Thurman one of the greatest all around offensive weapons of all time. He's my pick since I can't have Kelly.
  7. Listen to Rex's press conference at WGR 550 if you missed it. Rex said Sammy is sore. Hopefully he will progress through the week and be ready to roll. Any thought to shutting him down for a while? "Not what we are thinking right now." Is this a pain issue? "I'm sure that's part of it." Will he be on the practice field tomorrow? "Guys, it's walkthroughs! He'll be out there, but it's mental preparation for the quick turnaround." Is it possible he would be shut down for Thursday's game so he would get a full 2 weeks to rest? "I"ll lean on the experts. Right now all I know...my conversation with our trainers is that Sammy was sore after the game. We'll see how he progresses. That's all I can say about it. I'm not trying to avoid the question, but I didn't even see Sammy today." When pushed on being shut down for the 3rd time by the press, Rex said "Again, we have to see how he progresses through the week." This "thing" with Sammy's foot is not over by a long shot.
  8. That is scary. He had a TD to Woods and a wide open Sammy for a decent gain with single coverage as well. Both were obviously much better options than the ball he threw. The problem is his head never got past the center of the field. He looked right, then straight, then threw. Never got to the left side. This is why the game scared the hell out of me. Tyrod didn't show anything like the progress i had hoped for with a full off-season to study, relax into the starting role, and so on. And he is still showing crap QB tendencies.
  9. The Germans bombing Pearl Harbor thing is a reference to the movie Animal House. Which apparently you haven't seen. Which makes me think:
  10. Anyone listen to Rex's news conference? He said there is no plan to sit him for a period of games and he is expected to play Thursday, though he has pain in his foot.
  11. North Buffalo Kid and General Douglas MacArthur oversee the Japanese surrender aboard Mighty Mo, September 2, 1945.
  12. You write this as though it is within the team's power to control what the Patriots do and who wins the division. It's not. That's up to the Patriots.
  13. I will put forth that the Bills' fan base has absolutely nothing to do with the team's problems.
  14. Dan Patrick was saying the same more or less.
