  1. Rex Ryan live on WGR 550 right now. The changes (regarding OC position) may not be Xs and Os but there will be changes and I think the team will be better. "We're ready to roll with the acceptance of Lynn." Rex bumbling around and not really saying much. The offense is exciting about Anthony coming in; everyone respects him; they will do whatever they can to see him be successful. Rex won't comment on whether or not Roman did everything asked of him with the organization. Rex totally dodging anything about Roman other than to say he's a very good football coach. Rex asked about distancing himself from term "Ground and pound"... IS there a change of philosophy? REX: "When I first took the job in NY, I came up with the term ground and pound. If you saw our QB situation, you'd have understood why I came up with ground and pound. We weren't very effective at throwing the football." "When I came to Buffalo, I want to be able to run the football...but it's not ground and pound. You throw to score but you run to win. You gotta be able to run the football." "When we were successful last year, we won that category" (rushing) "We ought to be able to throw the football on people. We have the QB to do it and the receivers." IF you're running the ball you're controlling the clock. Last year we were #1 in the league in 3 and outs. That hurts your football team. Those are things we gotta work on. We gotta throe more completions. In 2nd half we want to be able to run the ball and put people away, that's for sure.
  2. Good listen... From today's John Murphy show, hour 2. http://media.wgr550.com/a/116751466/09-19-bills-lead-journalist-chris-brown-on-the-john-murphy-show.htm
  3. It does seem like he has missed a bunch of easy throws that should have been completions, but that's just a subjective observation. Don't remember him doing that last year though.
  4. I think he is still what he was. He is not "the guy" and never will be. He is the "guy who will do nicely" while we continue to try to find "the guy." He could be a lot worse. Depends on your frame of reference.
  5. If one of those newly discovered playmakers isn't the guy who throws the ball, we're screwed.
  6. Cam is much better than a run around ad lib sort of QB, though when he ran into a strong defense in the Superbowl last year, he was pretty well shut down.
  7. The Ryan Bros. hate runs deep throughout the land!
  8. Your thinking is pennywise and pound foolish. I agree Tyrod is likely to be slightly more productive, near term, if he ad libs and runs around. The problem is that this is not a winning equation in the NFL. A QB who plays in this manner will never achieve consistent results or avoid injury. A QB who can not sit in the pocket, read defenses, anticipate, and make accurate throws in tight windows while exposing the weaknesses of a given defensive scheme will never enjoy long term success in the NFL. Tyrod is not that guy.
  9. I always liked Chan and think he has a knack for drawing up excellent offensive plays and calling them at the right time. Remember his excellent use of the clock at the end of the game to beat the Patriots in Buffalo a few years ago? Belichick's head was going to explode, because he was beaten at his own game, and he couldn't handle it. How many Bills coaches have done THAT?
  10. This is absolutely correct and why we would never have turned the corner prior to the ownership change. But the change has occurred and in that way, it is unfair to compare the current situation to what was happening 10 years ago. The key now is for Pegula to make a clean break from the past and build an organizational foundation that will work long term. It has to be forward looking and if it involves a nostalgic flashback to 1985, we're screwed.
  11. FEAR NOT BILLS FANS THE RESCUE TRUCK IS ON ITS WAY
  12. Define "good news." We are already in a position where the best we will get out of this season is a high draft pick.
  13. This is, conceptually, undoubtedly what will happen, probably at the end of this season. It won't involve Bill Polian though. But your concept is sound and Pegula has already followed this path with the Sabres.
  14. My favorite moment? The one that hasn't happened yet...the one that is coming some day when this organization returns to relevance and winning. Reflecting on the past is for losers.
  15. My thoughts as well. Rex is yesterday. We need tomorrow. The sooner we start the painful job of rebuilding the entire organization correctly, the better.
  16. Remember around the time it was announced that Rex was going to give Richie another chance? A video was floating around of a drunken Incognito going insane in a billiards bar in Miami, I believe. I want THAT Richie for the game tonight. The guy was like an unstoppable hell beast, and we are going to need it. Can someone please slip him a liter or 2 of firewater before the game? This is it! "Crazy bar rage" Richie is what we need tonight.
  17. Didn't know that. Another good reason to fire him.
  18. I am wishing the Ryan brothers and the quadruplets a lot of success. (Sorry Augie, I stole your material)
