  1. I certainly hope so. The sooner he is gone the sooner we can start to plan for the future. Interim coach only though! Then throw the wallet at Patricia or someone of his ilk.
  2. Look on the bright side. Thanksgiving has come early this year.
  3. Jeff Fisher is the Teflon Coach. How he remains employed is beyond me.
  4. There has to be a limit to what the Patriots can get away with in terms of their "Plug and play" system. Right? Right? Help!
  5. It's not about quantity, it's about freedom of selection. It's nice to go to a beer bar with 150 beers on tap. Not because you will drink 150 glasses of beer in a sitting, but because you will be able to drink just the right beer for the right mood at a given time. I still think that is likely way too much for these guys to digest. Most normal people don't realize just how stupid your average NFL athlete is.
  6. In fairness, most of his anger is directed toward Rex, who he clearly hates. Buffalo kind of gets caught up in the middle of it all. I also agree, 100% with his take on the Pegulas, even if that is not a popular opinion in some WNY sporting circles.
  7. The time to start was 2 games ago. Rex didn't get the memo. As David Gilmour said: "No one told you when to run. You missed the starting gun." I believe he also sang "Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way." Replace English with Bills and you may have something there.
  8. Interesting if true, as that is 180 degrees the opposite of our approach when we were going to Superbowls every year.
  9. Ryan goes off at +150, meaning a $100 bet would pay $150. Jacksonville's Gus Bradley is next at +500, then Indianapolis' Chuck Pagano at +600 and Los Angeles' Jeff Fisher at +750. In a separate bet, Bovada asks, "Will Rex Ryan be fired before Week 17?" A "Yes" bet pays even money. The line on "No" is -140, meaning you'd have to bet $140 to make $100.
  10. Well he definitely reamed Pegula and the organization as a whole a new one. You may not like him or agree with him, but he likely speaks for the national view of the Bills. So much for Rex bringing relevancy and "national respect" to the team or whatever people were saying at the time.
  11. I think you're interpreting the story incorrectly. Rex is not presenting what he said to Lynn as fact, or that he has some secret insight to the future... He is presenting an opinion... No one knows what is really going on with the team better than Rex, and I'm sure he was predicting trouble before the season ever started. Don't forget that behind the scenes Rex (real Rex) has nothing to do with the Rex we see and hear. I interpret the story to be Rex having come to terms with his fate, realizing this is going to be a bad season and he is unlikely to survive it, combined with a short history of events, comments, discussions, etc., that suggested to him that Lynn was very highly regarded by the Pegulas, such that he would be the likely choice as at least an interim coach. And in fact, Rex may well have a say in that too. I can totally see an amicable split even if Rex is fired whereby he is asked for his input regarding who a good interim coach would be. Anyone at that level would likely be professional enough to suggest someone and not want to hold back that person's career while simultaneously leaving the organization themselves. This is simply Rex saying "Who are we kidding here? We are going to be bad this year and I'm not going to survive. And Lynn, you are as well liked as anyone in the organization to replace me when I get axed. So think wisely before you leave the organization."
  12. I have heard Thurman Thomas state, with a laugh, that they only had a handful of running plays during the Superbowl years. If you have really good players and they execute familiar plays really well, I guess that is enough. Or at least it was 25 years ago.
  13. Does anyone remember when Roman first joined the team? His massive play book and complexity of looks/schemes were touted as great things for us and bad for opposing defenses. He could run 8 plays out of one formation and keep opposing defenses off balance. Good times.
  14. I can't stand the hopping in place, ball tapping, and all that other sort of crap he does. Watch some film of Dan Marino. He was a God of economy of motion. Now he has the ball, 1 nanosecond later the ball is gone. No body movement expended that wasn't necessary to throw the ball.
  15. It's a thing because meddling owners don't achieve success, by and large, and good owners who write checks, hire good people, and then get the hell out of the way do. People are interested in discussing which sort of owner we have. It's relevant to the whole "success" thing.
  16. I think this is highly speculative. You are assuming the move was made to improve the team; I say it was done for political reasons. The good news is Rex is next one up on the termination list now.
