  1. He's like a batter in baseball who does everything wrong in terms of form, but hits over .300 off MLB pitching. Guys like that are out there.
  2. Patton was a bit of an asshat who died in a car crash after the War was over... He was old "Guts and Glory" as in his troops' guts exchanged for Patton's glory. At least that's what his own troops thought of him. Dude is most overrated military tactician of all time, and was considered nothing special by the German officer corps at the time who were the real pros of that conflict. Von Manstein? Guderian? Rommel? Von Rundstedt? Heinrici? Too many tactical superstars on the German side in that conflict to list.
  3. I am usually asleep by 11:00pm on New Year's Eve. For some reason, it has never done anything for me, and I don't see it as a natural cause for celebration. Excuse to drink? Who needs that!? If I want to drink, I'll have a drink. New Year's is kind of for pretenders, amateurs, and lightweights. Good night to stay home.
  4. I resolve to continue to shine light on DC Tom's massive low self esteem problem, in hope that he will find help in the coming new year so that he may live a more rewarding, fulfilling, happier life.
  5. ^ Moves around a lot, but is quickly taken into each new community shortly after his arrival.
  6. BREAKING NEWS: New image of Dunkirk Don has emerged; please disregard earlier posted images as those were not correct; things can change. Dunkirk Don's drinking partner:
  7. 3 Roman Legions = about 15,000 men, which might be an accurate number of Bills fans down there today! I wonder what the names of those Bills legions are? Legion I: Buffalonus (Buffalonian) Legion II: Piscator (Fisherman) Legion III: Victoria (Victory)
  8. LOL....Fencing! Extra 3 hours is a big deal! No doubt Boyst62 is working on his epee technique. I can see him now: flick, broken time, flèche to advanced target, stop hit with angulation...vertical jump with counter attack to the arm. His opponents must be quaking in their fencing shoes. Be sure to judge a man's potential on a couple quarters of football.
  9. A few years ago I said Tyrod does some good things, does some bad things, and falls right in-between being a starter and a backup in this league. He's not good enough to start, but he's almost too good to sit on the bench. Tough spot for him. He remains exactly in the same place now, a few years later. It's who he is. He'll end up a backup somewhere else, for much less money.
  10. Needless to say, especially with the included trade-up, Watkins was the wrong WR to draft by this team in that year's draft. That's pretty obvious now. Whaley lost his job over that move, in part.
  11. I say no, though I have no doubt the overall atmosphere will be like a Bills home game in that stadium. PS: I am up the coast from Miami and we are in the midst of a cold snap down here in SE FL. Right now it is only 68 degrees, but a cloudless, sunny, gorgeous day. Should be a really nice game for football down in Miami.
  12. My ritual was disrupted by the later game start. Screwed the whole day up. Recovering now best I can. I am not nervous about the Miami game at all; I am nervous about the others, particularly Baltimore. I almost want to watch Baltimore/Bengals more than the Bills! I think that is where this day will be won or lost.
  13. Who wins the name competition? Zay or Juju? I say Juju wins. Remember when guys were named Joe, Mike, and Bob?
  14. I'm sure you're not alone with that. The season does go by very quickly and the off-season is long. I can't even imagine the Bills making the playoffs! Here's hoping.
  15. Stuff like this doesn't speak to Gruden's competence; it speaks to the widespread incompetence across the NFL coaching community. The really competent guys who have it together and are capable of sustained, organized success over a long period of time are few. Dozens of pretenders come and go in the meantime.
  16. Of note: a stack of 284 billion dollars, in one dollar notes, would be 19,283 miles high. On its side, the stack would wrap around the earth near the NYS/PA border. That's a lot of 1 dollar bills!
  17. Funny commercial which I had not seen. Not into Hannah though, the girl in bed. She has kind of a chubby face.
  18. Which is the real Dunkirk Don? Photo 1, 2, or 3?
  19. ^ Hands are registered with the FBI because they are legally considered deadly weapons.
  20. The loss of a bunch of top draft picks is not as big a deal with this organization. How many top draft picks from recent drafts are even still on the team!? We don't retain top talent as it is. If they think their guy is in this draft and they can get him, I would support trading whatever it take to get that guy...if the whole thing blows up in our face, so what. 17 more years?
