Seahawks may embrace a college style offense
Fadingpain replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
By "college style" do they mean having an athletic QB who can't throw a football combined with a run-based offense that is quickly and easily shut down with NFL defensive team speed? That should work really well. -
Would you contribute to the charity of the player who...
Fadingpain replied to Moose's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No; most of these "charities" are scams constructed as tax shelters for wealthy people and some do more good work than others. I don't have the time to sort out the good from the bad, so I like to avoid these types of charities entirely. Would I be happy about the career ending hit? Of course. There is no single variable that would impact the Bills' fortune more positively than Brady's career ending tomorrow, either from retiring or dying or being injured in a career-ending way. -

Haven't you noticed? Our society has a huge hangup with all topics race-related. Whenever it comes up, even tangentially, we seem to freeze up and go numb as a collective whole. -

You should read Jerry Sullivan's work more often, and take notes. You might learn how to construct a well written sentence. -
GDT: Titans vs. Patriots at 8:15 PM on CBS
Fadingpain replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
One can only imagine most of the country felt the same way about the Bills based on our playoff game too. John Clayton suggested our game was the worst NFL playoff QB performance (both guys) in many years. -
Ron Torbert the head ref in the Titans vs Pats game
Fadingpain replied to Buffalo03's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If you want to manipulate the outcome of games, you pay the referee. A few key calls at the right times involving nothing but "judgment" can sway the balance of a close game one way or the other. If this hasn't already hit the NFL, it will some day. It's hit lots of other pro leagues around the world. -
Run away from him as fast as you can. More than that you don't need to know. Oh come on man, stop sugar-coating it! In truth, he was a lot worse than that!

GDT: Falcons at Eagles Battle of the Birds

Oh stop exaggerating! Every team isn't better! Only 28 teams were better! Three were worse! -
If the OC is Bevell I see 2 Things.....
Fadingpain replied to JMF2006's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The synapses are very slow to fire with Tyrod, no doubt. You can hear the rusty gears squeaking in his head from home, coming right through the TV speakers, as he surveys the field wondering: "What in the world should I do now?" By the time he thinks he has an answer, he is either getting sacked, throwing a 3 yard pass to Shady, or taking off running. -
Gotta go after a feature running back
Fadingpain replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good RBs can always be found for cheap when you need one. I don't see this as a priority for this team, for this off-season, at all. -
Jerry Sullivan in the national news??
Fadingpain replied to Ed_Formerly_of_Roch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
True enough; biggest fan boy "reporter" on the planet is Sal Capaccio, for example. I love how Bills fans seem to think journalists are supposed to support the team and not ask difficult questions. Sullivan stands out in WNY b/c he is a big city reporter in a small town. -
I don't get a vibe that the uniforms will be changed at all. I just don't see it happening, but not for any reason that I can pinpoint. The timing isn't right NOW, but if things continue to improve I could maybe see going with a red helmet again, to jive with the Superbowl era.

GDT: Falcons at Eagles Battle of the Birds
Fadingpain replied to Fadingpain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Both teams playing like they don't really want to win! Sloppy football game with mistakes all over the place. They seem to be evening out though so we still have a close game. -
Why I Think the Smart Move is Pay to Get Cousins
Fadingpain replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The problem with Cousins, in a nutshell, is he is the wrong balance of talent vs. price. Too little of the first, too much of the latter. If those factors were reversed, he'd be a great steal. -

Nick Foles has looked quite shaky, and that's being polite. -
Who is watching!?

I hear everyone ran around in circles shouting "We're dead man, we're dead!" I'm sure this was duly noted by officials as part of the drill.

In this interview he claims "WHOA NELLIE" was his and states the history of where it came from, which flat out contradicts comments I saw him make when he was younger...maybe he started saying it toward the end after everyone attributed it to him anyway? PS: Seems like 20 or 30 years ago, there were a ton of great announcers who 1 in a million voices made for announcing and a style all their own. Where have they gone now!? Announcers these days are horrible in comparison, and few of them have a great voice or a great unique style. In fact, most of them are flat out terrible... He says "I promised it.....WHOOOOO NELLIE!" at the 7:55 mark in this video.
-
The tone of his voice was somehow perfectly suited to college football on a Saturday afternoon/evening. Of note: Everyone credits him with this "Wo Nelly!" catchphrase... I remember watching an interview with him and he said he was not sure how that all got attached to his name, but it wasn't his. I have wondered how that got started myself and if anyone can produce video of him actually saying "Wo Nelly" as I don't think this exists. Funny he may be remembered for something he never said.

Every time they mentioned Doug Marrone in our playoff game against Jacksonville, they would cut to a shot of Marrone standing on the sideline wearing those sunglasses and his baseball cap, like this: I kept thinking he reminded me of someone, but I couldn't put my finger on it. And then a while later it hit me. He looks like this guy: Does anyone else see the similarity, or is it just me?

How about these?
